The Death Mask of Gartha Evants-Drast

The mask created for the then Queen of the Sith Empire by her husband, King Siris Drast II, known to history as Good King Siris. It became her death mask upon her untimely demise.

Originally created to serve as a paired mask with the one that the King wore himself, the purpose of the paired masks was to allow the married couple to remain in constant communication across the Galaxy. Alongside this, wholesome, reason the mask was designed to be completely impossible to detect when it is actively being used, thereby allowing the wearers to be able to communicate completely telepathically without the chance of being traced even by other Force Users.

With the destruction of King Siris' own version of the mask, this remains the only mask within the Galaxy. Rather than connecting to the second mask, it can only now connect to pieces of itself.

The mask itself was forged entirely out of durasteel, though the patterns of the mask were made of polished durasteel while the base remained unadorned. As a security measure, the mask itself was spelled by Sith magics to fit to the face of the wearer perfectly and in such a way that it requires a lot of force to actually remove the mask from the face.

The mask can be used during combat with the same difficulty as speaking to someone nearby during combat - which is to say minimal. Despite this, it offers no additional, magical, protection that could not be attributed to the durasteel construction of the mask.

In it's current state, the mask is in two pieces - having broken vertically down the central line of the mask. This allows this artefact to be claimed by two different characters.
