The Frontier Space Station (FSS) Entrepod had been located about two hours from the planet Agamar for nearly two decades now. It was a main distributing center for agricultural tools to the sector as well as one of the top stops between Agamar and the rest of the galaxy when it came to their number one export: Binka Fruit. Every heard of Binka Fruit? Yes? Congratulations.

It thanked it survival solely on its reasonably well-trained gunners and rarely overheating defensive turrets. It had its own little squadron, too. A couple of starfighters hogging the corners of the busy hangars only to be wheeled out whenever a pirate mothership came too close for comfort. Some of its pilots were great and others not so much. The skinny Zeltron belonged in the latter category. Some even rumored that his mother send him to the Entrepod as a sure way to get him off Glitterryll. It probably doesn't surprise anyone that a small space station somewhere in the Outer Rim off a pretty unknown world has a distinct lack of Kessel-grown spice and yet Jahn Harlan had to find that out the hard way.

Withdrawals had been a female Kath hound, but the worst of it had come during the long interstellar flight from Nar Shaddaa to the Entrepod and that allowed Jahn to hide his past a little better. Always long-sleeved, Jahn might've a bad short-term memory and worse long-term one, but his instincts and muscle-memory when it came to high-speed maneuvering were still pretty top notch and within a month found himself as the back-up pilot for the Entrepod's squadron.

Sitting in the small cantina looking at that portion of space that had Agamar seem as large as a rodian's head, Jahn was fighting the urge to scratch his arm and tried to keep his focus and his hands glued to the half-empty glass of Bantha milk in front of him. Above the bar a good twelve feet away hung a monitor showing a continues galactic news feed. Czerka News Network (CNN) had managed to lay claim on many exclusives on the attack on Coruscant, even hiring actors to reenact Sith warriors swinging lightsabers and massacring dozens of Sector Rangers while the world around them burned. It was a sick display, but effective in its aim to ramp up military spending all across the Core and thus sell more Czerka Arms. It was sickeningly transparent and yet incredibly effective.

Looking around to see if he spotted fellow members of the Entrepod's squadron, Jahn sighed "What's the wager this war reaches Agamar?"

Takai hadn't really planned on coming to the FSS Entrepod. She hadn't planned on getting stuck on the space station either. And she certainly hadn't planned on getting herself drafted into the space stations dinky little fighter squadron. Of course that all changed when the Ta'hye Jaya's vortex stabilizer had come up busted in the Entrepod's hangar when she had stopped and the station to refuel. Takai wasn't entirely convinced that the repair crew of the station hadn't busted it herself to make a profit off ordering one for her, but that didn't change the fact that the part was broken. No vortex stabilizer, no hyperspace. No hyperspace, no leaving the FSS Entrepod.

One thing had led to another and before she knew it she had found herself in the stations brig after a barfight with the "ace pilot" of Entrepod squadron. She wasn't so sure about the ace part, but she had broke his wrist after he had made an excessively aggressive pass at her while she was drinking. That had been a week ago, and now she was paying off the time by doing "community service". Community service meaning that she had to take his place in his run down old starfighter should pirates attack the station.

So far all that had really meant was more drinking in the station's cantina as she waited around for some action to happen. Most of her fellow squadron members gave her a wide berth, not really interested in socializing with the woman who put their friend out of work. Which suited her just fine as she sat around and nursed her ale, watching the holo.

"I bet they pass right on by." She murmured to Jahn, another newcomer in the squadron. She didn't really know him but he seemed like an alright fellow, though he had the look of a spice junkie about him. She didn't really give a rats ass if the war made it to Agamar, as she planned to be long gone by the time that event could happen. She hoped.

Despite having actively searched for fellow pilots, Jahn was still startled by Takai when she replied to him. She was somewhat intimidating, truth be told, since she broke the wrist of the squadron's top pilot and when Jahn tried to find stuff about her on the HoloNet he was left with even more questions. A Takai Wren was listed in the clan's records as having passed her verd'goten nine years ago, but that meant she was only thirteen at the time! From all the stories about the verd'goten he was sure he'd never survive even now in his twenties and she just went up and passed in her early teens? Next thing he could find was a leaked order of transport for one Takai Wren to a prison ship for a sentence that would last several more years. Was this her? and if so, how did she get out? She was a mystery to him and truthfully a bit frightening too.

"Huh?" Kriff, he forgot what he had said in the first place, but luckily the holo changed tune and reminded him just in time for the silence to become too awkward. "Oh, right. What does the Empire need binka fruit for, eh?" It was karking easy to start referring to them as an Empire already and yet Jahn had never seen this 'Emperor' wasn't sure if he ever would.. The only overlords he knew were his mother and that Crimson Dawn spice dealer on... he shuddered.

"So," alright, focus Jahn, where were you? "You fired her up yet?" Kriff, this is a confident woman, clearly not too happy about being here and able to break bones, "Or him?" Stupid Zeltron. You used to be so confident.

Takai sipped her ale as she waited for the Zeltron to remember what he had even said. Apparently a little bit of an airhead. Staring quietly as he brushed off his worries, she answered in a deadpan voice, "What's a binka fruit?"

She wasn't really worried about this new "empire" that had appeared out of nowhere. Probably just some old remnant making a power grab. She'd deal with it if it ever came her way but for now it didn't really seem relevant to her.

"Her?" She eyed Jahn strangely as he spoke, not quite sure what the jonesing flight jockey was talking about for a moment. "Oh, the headhunter? Uh, we can call it a him i guess."

She had taken the ship for a few practice runs in the past few days. It was suitable, well maintained for a backwater like this. A few small recalibrations had to be made to get it flying to her liking, but for all the aggressive machismo of its owner, he knew his stuff.

"Could be worse, he flies well enough I suppose. Beggars can't be choosers eh?" She said with a small smile. So far none of the squadron members had given her the the time of day, let alone a conversation. She was used to being alone and quiet, but that didn't mean she always enjoyed it.
