Altair Din may not have been on Raxus in time to defend it, but he would use his power and influence where he could nonetheless. He did not want to take the role of Emperor, but he knew he was a champion to Imperial citizens and soldiers alike. He would ensure that their stories and voices weren’t lost in the wave of media backlash against the Empire.
“Citizens of the galaxy,” He began, his familiar face appearing on screen to address the galaxy at large, “You have every right to wonder what happened with the peace treaty the Empire had with the Hutts and the nature of its breach. Let me say plainly that this was a treaty in name only. The truth is that the Cartel used the treaty as an excuse to run their criminal operations to practice otherwise illegal trade such as trafficking, slavery, extortion, and manipulation of Imperial citizens. They were intent on applying Hutt laws within the borders of our civilized space. The Empire refused to stand for that and if that means breaching a treaty, we will do it a thousand times over. Our people are first, and we will stop at nothing to ensure their safety and an Empire free of Hutt corruption.”
He paused there before speaking, “It is foolish to ignore the Hutt threat. Not because they are acting against the Empire, but because clearly their influence and corruption have extended now to media giants such as the Hyperlane Herald,” Altair stated, “That’s right. The fact that the clear Imperial victory over Raxus was undermined and sullied in favor of painting the Hutts as a galactic powerhouse is direct evidence of that. The fact that every recent bit of news coming from the Hyperlane Herald and renowned journalist Voren Dhur has been nothing but slander against the Empire while lifting up and praising an objectively criminal regime that openly practices human rights violations on a daily basis is evidence of that.”
Altair scoffed, shaking his head, “I come before you today to tell you that we did win on Raxus. We did repel the Hutts. We captured a family member of Nor’baal the Hutt himself. The media will say what it wants, but it will never discredit the Imperial Knights and brave soldiers who showed up to defend. The galaxy will know that these heroes were there when it mattered in the face of oppression when the Hutts got a little too confident. Let me tell you that we are here to stay and we are not going anywhere.”
As he spoke, the camera moved to footage showing the armored Imperials in the aftermath of Raxus. A captured Dar’baal the Hutt (@Darasuum )was also shown bound and placed in holding. The camera switched back to Altair, his amethyst gaze gleaming.
“The Hutts may have the Hyperlane Herald in its pocket, but the Empire will not be silenced,” Altair said, “And we will be here to defend every attack on our lands,” He added, “We welcome allies that stand with us. Who stand with the truth. Who stand against criminal regimes and corrupt big-name media channels.”
