The First 501st War Games (Training Session Sign Ups and Information)

Welcome one and all to the first ever 501st​ War Games!

This is a new thing that I'm spearheading. If it goes well and gets a good following, more of these will come. The idea is that six recruits from the 501st​ will be doing a series of training missions on four different planets with four very different climates. These six recruits will be randomly arranged into two teams of three for each planet's set of missions, making sure that everyone has an opportunity to work with everyone else. When a Planet's thread is finished, the teams will be shuffled. Simple enough.



Training Name: The 501st​ War Games
Training Types: Objective based (Capture the Objective, Capture the control point, Set Orbital Bombardment beacon, Defend the Base, Hostage Recovery, etc)

    Arid, rocky terrain. Many caves, gorges, and crevices make traversing the terrain a hazard and provide ample cover.

Participants:

Instructors (Non Recruits):

Objective: To subject two teams of three troopers each to a range of environments and possible scenarios. This would be done in order to prepare the participants for any range of IC scenarios they may encounter during their time as members of the 501st, as well as providing them with PVP experience.

Rules/Regulations:
  • Teams will be shuffled for each planet at the discretion of the instructor(s) presiding. No team will ever be the exact same twice.
  • All sidearms will be stun only, removing the risk for fatal blaster wounds.
  • All Standard Kit Explosives will be replaced with a flashbang variant. Detonators, Detonator packs, the works. If you get flashed, youre out as if you were blown up.
  • If an Instructor feels that a trooper has suffered what would be "Lethal" Damage in a combat scenario, they have the choice to lock down that troopers armor and coms. Taking them out of the fight.
  • Each Team will have a separate, scrambled Comlink Frequency. There will be no cross team chatter. The instructors, however, will be able to listen in on all communications.
  • Because Com Channels are ICly separated, any use of the other teams communications to avoid attacks or escape traps will be considered the worst kind of Metagame. It will be dealt with ICly, via Disqualification from the event in question. That isnt to say you cant avoid an attack if theres a legitimate reason. But getting a "Bad Feeling" and sidestepping a grenade isnt going to fly.
  • If you feel that you cannot continue with the event for any reason, simply inform me. Ill find a way to write you out and write someone else in. Thats right people. While spots are Limited, if someone leaves there WILL be room for new entries. I only ask that you try to wait to leave the event until after the thread you are in is concluded.


Threads/Thread Timelines:
Each thread will take place in order. One at a time, to prevent confusion and give people a chance to soak up any info they get from earlier threads. It is perfectly acceptable to make mistakes. The point isnt to WIN per se... Its to come up with creative new tactics for IC use later on missions. Threads would be as Follows:

Thread 1: Yavin IV
  1. Search and Destroy: Simple team Deathmatch in a relatively small area. Last team standing wins.
  2. Capture and Defend the Objective (Ruins): Team 1 Defends the Ruins, Team 2 attempts to secure them.
  3. Place Orbital Bombardment Beacon (Jungle Monument): Team 2 Defends the Jungle Monument, Team 1 attempts to place the Beacon.
  4. Sweep and Clear: One team attempts to evade while the other hunts for them. After one round, the teams are reversed.

Thread 2: Rhen Var
  1. Open Terrain Search and Destroy: A variant on Search and Destroy in terrain with Minimal Cover. An icy wasteland with sparse rocks and icey crags to hide behind
  2. Capture the Flag: Capture the Flag in Snowbound Ruins. Team must control both flags to score.
  3. Equipment Malfunction Simulation: Trooper's HUDs are Disabled, as well as Comlinks. Forcing teams to work out Nonverbal communication in order to complete a Team Deathmatch style objective.

Thread 3: Corellia
  1. Breach and Clear: Using an abandoned Building on Corellia, each team will have a chance to attempt a breach and clear. The opposing team will be set up inside the building.
  2. Hostage Crisis: Stand In trooper will be used as a Hostage. One team attempts to take the hostage alive, the other tries to hold on to the hostage or, barring that, 'kill' him. (Note, no actual harm will befall the hostage)

Thread 4: Ord Cestus
  1. Plant the Beacon (Arid Climate): Each team will have A beacon point in the enemy encampment. The point of the excercise is to plant your beacon without letting the enemy plant theirs.
  2. Rocky Canyon Deathmatch: Deathmatch style excercise involving combat in and around a rocky canyon.
  3. Assault the Strongpoint: Each team takes turns setting up camp on top of a Plateau. Meanwhile, the opposing team has to grapple up to the Plateau and clear it of enemies.

Darn I don't have a storm trooper recruit. Only andrew who is (A navy (B a petty officer and (C a spook.

Still if you can think up a roll for him that would be nice.
