Bergruutfa Clan, with the hope that they would be loyal to others and being true to their heart when in darkness. Maybe one of them would get the message, or perhaps he should have that in his opening address? It had been so long since this had even been a concern. But that was going to be their Clan.

He'd washed, he'd washed his robes. He'd checked how he look in a polished disk of metal and now he headed out of his bunk on the Kirin, and began heading toward the beach he had met Leah. How many weeks had it been, and already a class of potential initiates. The Force provided for those close to it.

Messages had been sent out, shadowy couriers charged, double encryption from courier to recipient. But only coordinates on Rishi were given, and express instructions to arrive on Horizon Island at Raider’s Cove and then to travel covertly to this stretch of beach. Foot or mount, but no technology. Nothing that could be tracked. He had brought Nikka from Botawui after they’d repaired the Kirin. The message was clear from the Rebellion, Luy had been in talks with the other Four and he was to instruct some of the hopefuls and see whether any of them could become the first Initiates.

Of course, it could be dangerous, and that is why he had returned to Rishi. His home away from the Rebellion and away from the trees and rails of Tyegin. Not to mention that he was a Master. One who had survived against the galaxy spanning influence of the Sith. But he had to focus on the here and now. Nikka was fiddling with something while they waited, she would have to find calmness, to settle herself soon; but he turned to the direction of Raider’s Cove.

Miles away, through thick jungle and fetid swamps it was there. He could sense the life within the boundaries. Reaching out with a light tan skinned hand, his fingers stretching out all the more. He reached out with the Force and surveyed the depths of the jungle. Where were they? Where were his budding students? His seedlings that require nurturing to plant their roots within the kinship of the JedI or to at least try and show they had the potential.

After a few moments scanning, he dropped his hand and looked around the treeline. He began gathering straight-ish branches. Then moved to kneel on the beach and trimmed them with his chromium knife. This sort of work with his hands was calming, but also he needed to test the students after all. Not just their minds and their connection to the Force. But in this world of threats, how they could look after themselves. He'd included enough forthem all and a larger one to match his huge bulk.

After finishing the branches he sat down with his legs crossed and waited, ensuring that he kept some attention on Nikka, and some on the tree line.

Fey had been on Tatooine when she received the double encrypted message. And she had left the spaceport immediately upon its decipher. She had felt to her very bones the implications behind the message. And although it had sped up the blood in her veins, she felt the heavy veil of purpose settle on her mind as she touched down at the coordinates given to her on Rishi.

Now, she stood a few footfalls from a treeline, inhaling the potent musk of beach she knew lapped beyond the mask of thick trees. She had traveled by foot through the vast jungle and deep swamp that was Horizon Island, and left Raider’s cove given the clear direction to not be followed. Although this would normally raise suspicion with Fey, she had felt the odd peace that rose resolutely within her body just upon receiving the message. She had known this feeling for many years. In her adolescence, she would sum it up to acute intuition. But upon joining the Galactic Alliance, Fey knew that these things connected her to the galaxy in a way she was yet to understand.

She stood just within the treeline for a few minutes, though it seemed like forever. Fey closed her eyes against the heady smell of the jungle around her, and felt the Force tapping on her mind, urging her forward with gentle pushes against her spine. Her heart was beating around her chest like a caged rancor, but she latched onto the gentle pulses and willed her heart to match them in tune. She stepped forward, carefully watching the way her footfalls led from the swamp to the sand of the beach.

Stepping out onto the sand, she glanced around with golden eyes at the expanse of beach to the right and left of her. She had not seen such large amount of water since she was a child, and it took her slightly aback at the power it yielded. She felt that power in the very edges of her mind, as if she had some part of it. To Fey, it was immaculate.

Surveying the beach, the young Pantoran found her eyes drifted to two figures slightly to the right of where she had emerged, down the beach. She began towards them without hesitation as normally she would in a foreign place. Carefully walking over the sand, she lifted one hand to shield her eyes from the sun, squinting at the two figures.

"Hello?" Fey approached the robed figure which sat on the beach with crossed legs surrounded by some branches. Her greeting was touched with a tone of question, although Fey knew she was in the right place. As if to solidify that, she bowed her head slightly out of respect and greeting, letting the two long white braids of her hair fall around her shoulders.

When she'd first met Luy, it had been a gut feeling. Something she attributed to nothing more than good instinct. The Kirin had been a mess of parts, until the pair of them had managed to patch it up to more than working order. But now she was restless again; her hands itched to do more than sit idly by. She hadn't packed much; just pieces and parts to a droid she'd long since dreamed of creating for herself; she'd run over her database notes over and over on the return to his home planet, adding in notations encrypted multiple times over. Tricks of the trade in Bothawui, she could never be too careful. But right now, she was fiddling anxiously with an auditory sensor, the datapad all but forgotten.

Earlier, when they had landed, she had been careful to wash up quickly, and dress in the only other spare jumpsuit she had left. It was a bit nicer... at least it wasn't covered in grease stains and oil splatters. She could feel eyes on her, and she frowned, intent to at least snap the last wire into place...

When it was partially fixed, she dropped it with a sigh. Long brown hair had been braided loosely, and it was still a damp length trailing over one shoulder. She had to get it shorn soon, maybe... her mind kept flicking back to his cryptic talk from earlier. Meeting others. A group of them, from what it seemed like. She set the sensor aside to watch him from her distance, having grown tired of fiddling with something that wasn't even part of a new invention yet.

The dull roar of the ocean waves helped to ground her. Her hands curled over her knees, legs uncrossing and then stretching out to her full height. Pacing over closer, she watched as he whittled some of the straight branches. To some, it seemed as if the female were a simple mechanic with bandaged eyes. But the sockets were vestigial.. her left hand rubbed over her forehead once, then lowered. Despite not having eyes, there was so much she could see. No colors, but the sensations were sharper, the smells, the sounds...

She sighed, plopping down onto the beach. But then... there was that feeling again. More subtle than with Luy, but there. A tap on her intuition, which only grew as a new presence came to be. Chin tilted up in curiosity, lips curling into a grin. That feeling.. it ebbed and flowed through her, into the sands, through the water, from the newcomer, and... More will be coming soon, came the swift thought, as much a feeling as fact, if the sticks had any indication. Despite her previous fiddling, she was calm, still even. A rare thing, especially for the impatient Miraluka.

This new being... another female. The grin grew wider, but she hesitated to answer; somehow, it didn't feel right for her to greet first. She would wait, bide her time. Meanwhile... her head tilted slightly at Luy, and she took in another deep breath of the briny, vegetation-laced air. This promised to be very interesting.

'Raiders Cove? No shortage of smugglers there...'
As always, Jorrin was reluctant to fly. When it was a secret message from the Rebellion though, he didn't have much choice. It didn't take long to find somebody on their way to the city. It wasn't a slice of Nar Shadaa for nothing. Space traffic congregated there, even if it was all illegitimate. By some stroke of luck, the pilot followed through on his side of the deal. Everything looked like it was about to break, the items for sale were 'secondhand', and nobody was here to stay.

Jorrin had things to do though. He'd have to be scammed another day.
He knew little about Rishi's geography, so the wall of jungle was greeted by a sigh. He must've taken five hours worth of detours. Self-navigating through a swamp was quite the challenge for a desert-dweller.
Still, if only because the sand called out for him, he did reach the beach eventually. The wrong part, sure, but it wasn't long till he caught sight of the others.

"You the ones who sent those messages?" Said a mud-covered Jorrin.

Jake had been busy with the Galactic alliance operation on Tatooine when he got a message, a strange one but one Jake felt he could trust some how though he did not know why Jake had lived off his gut feeling for some time. Though Jake knew it was the force. Luck, gut feeling, that feeling of unease or what ever the different people of the galaxy called it, in the end it was the force and Jake had not been led wrong yet. He had found the Galactic Alliance by following the force found people who worked together to fight not from anger but from love and respect. So of course Jake would follow the bread trail laid before him.

When he first eyed Rish from space in his fighter it seemed so beautiful. The blue Gem is space so tiny so precious. On entering the atmosphere Jake's opinion did not change. Flying slow and low Jake landed the fighter on a small Island that had a small opining in the trees. It would be hidden from all but the most thorough search. Deciding to take the rest of the joinery to Raiders Cove on the Grav board. Flying lows and skimming the water as fish jumped out before diving back down.

Raiders Cove was where the message had said to leave behind in technological mode of transport and carry on on foot. Jake contemplated just caring the grav board but though it best not to break the spirit of the instructions. So hiding the board in a nearby cave that seemed not to flood in high tide Jake moved through the Forrest carefully. No one had seen him arrive and he felt rather fully of him self. If the note provider wanted to meet with Jake being followed Jake had gone beyond the instructions given. Though in truth it was more because Jake wanted to fly the skies of rish of what amounted to a flying plank more than security.

The jungles where full of life, one did not even need to reach out in to the force to feel it. It reminded Jake of the Wookie home world. Though less gloomy and dark. Even though the Jungel was thick it was no shadow lands. Here the beasts made noise and sang for all to hear as jake moved through the Jungel. He did not need a map now, he knew the way to go and the path through the jungle seemed easy as if he was meant to travel this way.

Then it was there no longer was it just a feeling in the force but Jake could see them. walking to the tree line he looked at the assembled his eyes drawn to the large Feeorin male. "h h helo" Jake did not know why he stammered but he did. Though his legs where braver than his mouth and Jake left the treeline to enter the opening. "m my name is Jake, did you send for me?"

He had received the mysterious summons just moments before setting off from Kashyyyk. Immediately, he managed to decypher the contents of the mysterious message and make his way to Rishi. There he landed some ways away from the Raider's Cove and made his approach on foot. Junes where not his scene, but at a minimum no lethal creatures stirred at every corner. He allowed his mind to open and reached out to his immediate vicinity, sensing life... and hums of familiar force energy nearby. Call it self preservation or caution, but Horus found himself walking the outskirts and observing the others as they arrived. He waited until the last of them seemingly arrived, then the man approached.

"Well. Seems we're all in one place. Mystery message and all."

He immediately turned to the paired Feeorin and the Miraluka, assuming they where the ones responsible for sending the message in the first place. He kept his hand away from the vibrosword as a show of trust.

"How may I be of service?"

So the Pantoran was first. Eager or efficient. He remained meditating as she arrived and slowly roused after her arrival and greeting. A bow no less, this Hopeful had discipline, this was good and would temper any studies that she would make. The lage, two metre tall humanoid rose from his seat and offered a hand to her. “You are most welcome. Please, take a seat wherever you would feel most comfortable. We are merely waiting for-” The tone had been pleasant, if not genial, yet his face was stoic. No nasal opening added to the stone edifice, but now he was looking down the beach behind her. Another humanoid, one who had slightly lost their way. Some sort of near-human, but it must’ve been arduous for them; at least his mud spattered attire would show some difficulty. His eyes became stern at the question.

That is not what you should concern yourself with, it is evident who we are as you are here. The question that should be in your mind, is why are you here?” He held the young male’s gaze for a few beats and then smiled. “I am Luy, these are to be your Clan mates… assuming that you wish to be considered an Initiate?” His heavy, muscular arms folded before him, a crooked half smirk growing. The feeling of the potential was singing in his blood. He felt akin to a sculptor with fine clay before him and as he returned to stand before these three it soon became a four.

Luy made a determined and unwavering pace toward the fourth arrival. His large form towering over them and scowling down. After this, Jake’s, introduction, there was at least ten seconds of silence and then an immense and hearty laugh was followed by a solid clap on the shoulder with a meaty hand. “I am Luy, this is a great day! Come, come! Join us!” The Jedi Master almost pushed the newest entrant forward toward the others. “Yes, it is great to see you all. Soon we will all be together and-” the final one was hiding. He sensed their eyes on him, he raised and arm and then waved. “Come, we are all waiting!” As they waited for the last one to arrive he could not help smiling broadly. “You can stay here, with us and learn. You are not here to serve us… but the Force.

The future.” His hands planted firmly on his hips. “You are my future. As I have said to some already, I am Jedi Master Luy, you are here because it is suspected of being Force Sensitives. I can confirm that you are indeed that.” He began to pace up and down the assembled students, is hand moving to the small of his back his face turned to a stoic visage. “We are nearly dead… and you represent new blood.” He looked to each of them. “Some of you will succeed here, some may not. It is my hope that you will all stay with us. Not being allowed to follow the Path of the Jedi is no insult, it is merely that the Force has a different service in mind for you.” He stood before the sticks and held out his hand palm up. They all lifted and lined up before them. “Go on, take. It is your, nobody else's, a gift from me.” The final larger branch rose and softly landed in his hand. “Now, maybe you should introduce yourselves to your new Clan mates.” He paused, a tingling sensation flowing through the Force and buzzing the back of his skull, perhaps they just might all make it. “Welcome to Clan Bergruutfa. Those of loyalty, and strong of heart.” His hand beat his chest and he looked to each one again.

As Luy rose from his seated position on the beach and swiftly dwarfed her, Fey couldn't help but let a hint of awe touch her golden eyes. There was no question as to why she had received the message and was summoned here, and the Jedi Master solidified this as she took his hand and offered him a wide smile.

Upon the arrival of three others who all seemed confused, Fey's mind began to work around the situation that almost felt like a far off dream set apart from the rest of her life. The humming that seemed omnipresent in her mind was almost overpowering here by the ocean, lapping tirelessly at the edges of her consciousness like she was standing at its core. She listened intently as Luy introduced himself and spoke of his hope in their success here, of the Path of the Jedi. Fey's head tilted slightly. She had only heard stories of the Jedi, their ancient practice being endangered.

She watched as Luy levitated the line of branches that had been laid before him moments ago. She watched in awe for a moment, grinned, and reached out a blue hand to grasp the one nearest her. ::Bergruutfa...:: the Pantoran turned the word over in her mind, feeling the weight of its meaning. She glanced about the other initiates, and figured she may as well break their silence. "I am Fey, of Pantora." She offered them a nod, waiting for the rest to speak as she idly rubbed her thumb across the smooth wood of her gifted stick.

Jorrin walked to Luy, and took the rightmost stick. Examining it, he found it was a bit short to be a cane, closer to the length of a vibrosword. Holding it at his side, he turned to the group.
Deciding to follow Fey's example, he kept the introduction simple.

"My name is Sugai. A Firrerreo."
He stepped away from the array of sticks, tapping his against the ground.
'The others seem to know more about this... I'll have to ask some of them later.'

She waited a few beats. Her face turned as the newcomers drifted in from all sides, biding her time. She wasn't good at grand speeches; but seeing the Feeorin that she had followed effortlessly greet all those that arrived gave her a strange sense of... it was almost like a step onto a right path. There was no other real way to describe it. Bergruufta Clan... the words rolled in her head a beat, testing out the sound.

She would have nodded to it, but paused just before, focused instead on breathing, listening.. waiting. It wasn't her time to speak yet... there was something that needed to be said first, or at least a reason why all of them were gathered on this beach. But looking through the veil of her Sight, she noticed they all had something in common. A feeling of connection, perhaps, a common thread... but then the words, Force Sensitive, clicked into place, and she tilted her chin up, somewhat surprised. Somehow... it all made more sense, now.

Her heart warmed, and if she could have, she would have blinked at the feeling. Instead, she slowly rose from the beach, dusting off the few grains of sand from her legs, then her hands, pressing her palms together and grinning wider before she selected the stick before her, testing its' weight in her hand. She liked the feel of it, almost akin to her baton... and was relieved that they were simply blunted sticks. But then the feeling that flowed from the stick into her arm surprised her. Just what did he have planned?

Her Sight caressed over each form in turn. Each had a dim illumination, a feeling of unity that rippled and flowed. If she thought of it, it was like warm water, but it was more than a flow with the tall male that brought her here. Her focus settled on him for more than a beat, he channeled it like a river. Many depths... she felt the usual tug to follow along, to the Firrereo Jorrin, to the Pantoran Fey, the other two males... Jake, and the other one.

She tested the grip of the branch a bit longer before speaking, her voice akin to a bird's, rising and falling swiftly in pitch and tone, with no real traceable accent.

"I am Nikka Torren... call me Nik. A Miraluka. I wish to be an Initiate, and follow the flow," came the swift but warm response, her left hand reaching up almost self-consciously to touch at her veil, and lift it. "...of the Force." There was only the slightest glimpse, of a curve of vestigial socket, before it was hastily covered over again, mouth still engaged in that warm smile.

Ah... the Jedi. So the rumors were true. She had thought they had all gone... dispersed to nothing but legend. Her other hand lifted to settle over the place where the pulse of her heart beat... that familiar feeling of intuition shimmered through her veins, she could almost see it, the way she had as a child. That sense that greater things were coming. But also.. something else. The Feeorin had more in plan than just a casual meet and greet. What did the Master have in store?

Jake was dwarfed by luy who was nearly double the size of the young boy. Though as the laugh erupted after the uneasy silince Jake joined in and laughed to with Luy. Allowing him self to be led by the mans larger hand to the make shift benches Jake realized that he was at easy even though the large man was forcing him along to his seat.

Sitting down Jake looked over the others that arrived before him. A pantoran Female and 2 others humanoids one was one of those that where blind but could see with the force, the other was new to Jake. Though it did not bother him. With a million worlds there where lots of strange people out there and no one strange than Luy. The last to join them was a human or seemed to be a human male. It was clear Jake was the youngest and smallest among them. Still every one seemed friendly enough.

Jake sat in silence as Luy introduced him self but Jake could not call out in shock when he called out that he was a Jedi Master "A Jedi, but they said the Jedi where wiped out in the purg?" Of course Jake knew all ready not to trust the words of the sith teachers but he knew that the Sith actually really thought the Jedi where gone. But here before him sat a Jedi master.

When Luy, or Jedi Master Luy used the force to offer them there sticks Jake under stood the idea. Training tool, a cheap but effective training tool. Jake grasped the stick and felt it in his hand. It was a good height and balanced.

As Master Luy grabbed his own larger stick he asked them to introduce them selves to the new clan as the Jedi Master refereed to them. "My name is Jake, i have no last name that i know of. My past is dark and i wish my future to be bright" Jake did not know how much Master Luy knew but he assumed that as a master he would no enough. Still he was invited non the less, so that was a good sign. Jake retook his seat with his stick resting across his lap.

The Feeorin's smile was contagious, Horus found himself cracking a smile on his own accord, releasing his crossed hands as the reply met his ears. The smile slowly turned to wonder, and then finally his hair stood on end slightly. The Vahla, his race, where naturally attuned to the Force. He had hid the connection from the majority of his life, but this being called him out almost immediately.

Here to serve the Force. This one…

This one was a force wielder. That much was a certainty now, though it surprisingly didn’t make him feel uneasy. There was something about the Feeorin, a welcoming feeling, that Horus just couldn't shake. The Feeorin continued to talk, and all the while Horus considered introducing himself, but allowed the eldest of their number to speak. By the time he came to the word Future, Horus was enraptured, ready for the inevitable speech. What he heard chilled him slightly, he had anticipated other force sensitives within the Alliance… but to find out that all who flanked him were also as sensitive as he was jarred him slightly.

We? Who is we?

His people were nearly dead too? Horus could understand the feeling, as the Galaxy at large had all but forgotten that the Vahlan homeworld of Desare had been lost to the stars. The elder continued, saying that some may fail and some might succeed. To this, Horus felt the creeping sensation of doubt enter his mind, but it was just as quickly silenced. There was no time for such things. Then he mentioned the path of the Jedi, and the amber crackling eyes he called his own widened. He bowed low, and nearly dropped to one knee before thinking better of it. This man was a Jedi?! One of the last, no doubt, and it was an honor. Clan Bergruutfa. An honor indeed.

"I am Horus Tempest… I must say… it’s a honor. I am from a place called Desare. I am Vahla.”

He prepped himself for the backlash. Most people in the Galaxy disliked the Vahla, distrusted by most and hated by many. It led his species down a dark path, one he himself did not personally follow. His siblings however... well, it remained to be seen how they would handle it. A curt smile crossed his lips as he replied. It was nice, at least, to be in a place he could at least practice the Force without feeling conscious about it. The others had already introduced themselves, and he smiled to each of them in turn, as he had been taught. Horus collected the stick and raised it to medium height, standard guard. He had some experience in these matters.

Each one spoke, and each one was listened to. They were watched and they were studied. Visually he checked for weaknesses, reactions and general behaviour. He listened, to any quiver or stammer. All the while this giant of a humanoid stood as still as stone. The Force guided his observation, he saw pride, darkness, regret, fear and curiosity. These young ones had all the imperfections their short lives had already amassed. They would need to be refined. There reserved nature showed their guard. Life had treated them to sights, sounds and, all the more importantly, events that had shaped them. Sat down, revealing secrets or attempting to form a guard against a potential attack. My how these students varied.

As the last silenced, Luy remained stoic. The sounds of the ocean and the aerial denizens picking off the occasional crab or wading for clams of some kind. He breathed deeply a few times and rolled his shoulders. “So, such a reserved set of introductions. This is my name, this is what species I am and some have, rarely, moved from that to the tiniest truth about them.” His grip hardened on his staff and his arm flexed with a rapid jolt of his form, as if he was going to launch at Horus. It was fast and sharp but nothing more than to show the boy that he was seen to adopt a stance. An acknowledgement and to see how far they were prepared. He smiled, nodded acknowledgement and returned to his walking position; moving behind the group as he then began to circle.

You will learn more from each other. I will hopefully bring out parts of you that you didn’t know you had.” He slowed down as he reached the edge of the group, near Fey. “Mannered, reserved and yet thinking in the spaces instead of speaking.” Slowly he paced toward Nikka and arced around her in an orbit. “Eager, you ripple with it, a want to know about ‘your flow’ and the Force. Good this is good! But patience will hone your search.” He walked with a great stride and stood behind Jorrin, a wide low stance formed that ensured he could lean from one side of them to the other. “Confident, assuredly so…” he leaned to the other side. “Blind without knowledge, one that I am happy to extend to you, if you have the Will to obtain it.” With a lift of his far leg and a turn on his point that was odd for his bulk. He was facing Jake and he paced forward in a almost hesitant pace. “Initially wary… friendly to those you know. Aware of the darkness that we must all be vigilant for.” As he reached Jake's side his meaty hand placed firmly on the lad's shoulder. His eyes darted up to Horus. There was a resolved solidness to his movement, almost predatory. Each step was a well defined placement and a fraction of a pause. “You all know of the galaxy, the threat that you are now stepping before. If you succeed with me, and continue on this Path… you will be at threat, constantly.” His grip on his branch tightened. The length of a longsword for him, and the thickness of some of their limbs. The point drifted out to the right of his form, in one hand. Then he continued passed Horus and arced to the centre of the group. "But you should never prepare an attack or defence if conflict can simply be bypassed or avoided entirely."

He stabbed his stick into the ground before him and removed his outer robe, the cloak element. Lighter, wood stained robes showed. His own saber reflected the tropical sun. “Now, there will be three tasks that you will need to overcome to prove yourself suitable for further training as a Jedi.” He looked to each of them. “Do not worry, I will be giving you some tuition before I actually test you! Rwahahaha!” His roaring life scared a small flock of waders, as it died, he tried to regain composure. “Fist and most important of all, you will need to demonstrate knowledge of the Jedi Code and that you have understood our teachings.” He placed his hands behind his back, his outer robe’s wide sleeves not available. “Second, You must demonstrate self-discipline through meditation and in combat. Yes, that means no fiddling Nikka!” He turned to her sharply, his words somehow all the more clearer and traveling as swift as a blade through the air.. Then returned to his lecture position. "I suggest you get used to the weight of the branch in your hand... Finally, you must prove that the Force flows through you. This is not the same as being sensitive to its movements. A rock in a stream is sensitive to the ebb and flow, but we must enable the Force to guide and flow through us. We are instruments of its Will after all.” He looked to each Initiate. His firm set features softening slightly. His arms dropping from behind his back and opening his stance and posture. “We will study and practice together Clan Bergruutfa. You will learn from each other, but only through your trials will you prove yourself worthy of becoming Padawans and truly joining the Order’s ranks. Now, any question younglings?

There was a pause. So many different species… some she had only heard about. Some surprise, some curiosity… but this wasn’t quite what was meant to happen. More was meant to be said. And when other voices came around her, other introductions, she wasn’t as surprised anymore. This was probably the first time that she was aware that this wasn’t some circumstance… it felt alarming, and for a beat, she considered stepping back, walking away. No. She wasn’t a pawn in this flow here. She was part of it. Didn’t they feel it? None of the others seemed too aware, but… instead she shifted minutely, and tuned back in with a deep breath.

She stood, she listened. Felt ease settling into her shoulders, grounding her in place. It was… strange. On this warm beach, she could focus, and listen. Not many could hold this twitchy being’s attention for too long; she always itched to do something, work with idle hands. It was the only way her mind could settle, all those thoughts and ideas pinging around able to at last calm to a quiet hum. When she was tinkering with a scanner or optic sensor, she felt grounded, able to let her mind and ego slip.

But here, it was… oddly different. She could focus, yes, on the multiple sensory things going on at once; the other voices, the waves lapping on the shore, the cries of predatory aviaries. And yet… somewhere in her bones, there was a hum of something. It wasn’t destiny, or anything nearly so grand. But… purpose. Weirdly satisfying purpose, holding her in place. Eagerness to move and do something were drowned out like a candle gutted by a strong wind when Luy had spoken. Immediately, her face had snapped his way.

If she could blink, she would have. Yes, true, it was eagerness… it was a desire to understand. More than to simply follow a feeling, but to understand why it was a feeling at all. A want to know why her, of all beings, why here and why now. She was simply a lone traveller… her intents and hopes were always set on some stars in some distant horizon. Waiting was not her strongest suit. But… perhaps he was right, a voice whispered in her blood. Be still. Watch. Listen. He has you read already.

She wasn’t quite so certain she liked that she was so easy to read. Her arms shifted again, to a neutral position to her sides. She was startled at the sudden laughter, and the grin on her lips widened. At least he wasn’t always so serious… she would have laughed along, but instead it died in her throat, somehow it didn’t feel right for her to laugh as well, when it felt like she might have only read half a joke in that tone of voice. She flinched slightly at her name being called, more a twitch to slim shoulders than anything, and the grin melding to a more sheepish cast. It wasn’t like I do so deliberately… came the self-amused thought. I just… like seeing how they tick. How things work, and how I can help make them better. But again… he wasn’t wrong. Perhaps it was time to put the tinkering by side… at least long enough to know where she stood.

She shifted, slightly. Gave a quick tilt of her head to her left, to right, and the grin brightened again. This felt right, now. The words fell more slowly this time, still with the enunciation of rapidly rising and falling tone, but slower nonetheless.

Just one, Master Luy…” she hesitated, suddenly aware she had spoken first. Tch, too eager again. Her palms pressing together as the gifted stick was pointed down between them. It was an open posture, steady, alert. “…When do we begin?

Whatever little she knew, she had to use while she was here. Whatever he had in store, even if she didn’t succeed… she needed to know. There was a feeling again… one that meant she had a lot of hard knocks in store before anything panned out smoothly. And yet… she wanted to get started straight away.

No time like the present, perhaps.

Her golden eyes followed the voices of her new companions as they introduced themselves one by one. A broad range of species and age, she saw; although most seemed around her own age if she had to guess. Firrerreo. Human. Vahla. Miraluka. Pantoran. A rather oddball sort of group, nothing in common besides the constant ebb and flow of feeling that weaved between them.

At Nikka's words, she tossed the species she had declared herself as over in her mind. Miraluka. Familiar, although Fey could not recall how or much about them. She had not had the chance to meet many...respectable people. Fey desired to speak more to this girl. A placid smile graced the corners of the pantoran's mouth. The flow of the Force. A very good way to put it. Made sense of the bubbling feelings that moved between the group, but especially pooled around the Feeorin as he glared between his pupils.

As the tall Feeorin moved towards her, she let herself meet his eyes as he spoke his blatant observations of her. She blinked at his keen ability to read her inner mind like an unencrypted message on a datapad, an odd feeling she was not accustomed to. True, she had always been very observant of her surroundings, silently taking note and storing that information. She had found this was the best way to survive all of these years on her own. She shifted her weight from one leg to the other, and tightened her grip on her stick. The girl did not look away until Master Luy moved behind the group, but his voice still floated behind her beyond where her eyes could reach. She was entranced by the instruction he was giving them, her purpose here on Rishi solidified into her mind. She had been brought to this place and with these people for reasons she did not wish to question. For now, this was the path set before her, and the sense of purpose it employed- mixed with the understanding of trials that would ensure, gave her an almost heady feeling.

She felt the dull balance of her stick and although many times lighter than her staff, she felt at ease with such object within her hands. It was familiar.

As listened to the trials they would face, her eyes studied each of her companions briefly. Master Luy mentioned the flow of the force, and Fey pictured herself moving with the rhythm of the life around her, visions of her body as a vessel made entirely of the shimmering swirls she felt constantly around her mind. Fey felt a twinge in her legs, a need to follow that feeling. She was set in her dedication to this tutelage, succeed or fail.

As Nikka spoke first, the edges of the pantoran's lips curled in a grin. She had been thinking the same thing. Her own voice lifted to confirm the statement of the last. "Yes, Master Luy," She lifted her chin up to the slight breeze that caught her hair in its wake, "I am ready to learn the ways of the Force, and grow with Clan Bergruutfa."

Jorrin's brow creased at Luy's description of him, but he didn't comment on it. He waited and listened as the Jedi gave his speech, keeping his eye on the others reactions. When it came to the description of the tests, his eyes drifted back over to Luy. Mention of the Jedi code just confused him. He'd never heard of such a thing, and wasn't sure what it entailed. Meditation was new to him, combat less so. The final criteria he had no conception of, 'the Force' was a new concept to him.
Finally, when it came to the questions, Jorrin considered whether he had any, but after Nikka spoke, decided he knew enough. He followed Feys words with his own.

"I'll do it."

Jake looked uneasy at Luy and shifted his head and looked away. Jake had known that a Jedi Master probably knew a lot about him and even if he did not Luy would without a doubt sense the Darkness in his heart. Why did not go through Sith training and come out innocent? Still, Luy had not told the rest, was his past not important or did Luy not feel it was something that needed to be brought up so soon in training. Either way, Luy was correct Jake knew the target every one here would now have on there head. Sith Lords would kill each other to slaughter a friend of a Jedi. Though they were in luck no one knew the Jedi where alive. But even Jake could sense it, something was happening, Jake did not know he tried to meditate but his visions were of nightmares and Darkness.

Tests made sense to Jake and nothing seemed to hard, other than meditation, the physical act did not worry him, it was what he saw in them, what he heard. Jake had not been able to properly meditate since fleeing the sith empire. When Luy asked for questions Jake shook his head "No Master Luy, I have no questions, at this time"

“If you want to know more, you only need to ask.”

As the old Master spoke, Horus almost rescinded his guard as a show of respect, but found himself reorganizing it as Luy lurched forward as though to attack. His left foot balanced his movement as his stick fell sideways slightly in preparation to block, but no strike came. Instead the elderly Master continued to speak and reveal what knowledge he had garnered from each prospective candidate. Horus could hardly argue with the verdicts, they where delivered with such clarity and confidence. He was also incredibly relieved nobody cared about his race. They where certainly more inclusive than the Imps.

I don’t make a habit of failing. There is a reason I’m still alive, and besides... I’ve been practicing this stuff my whole life.

His own description was quite accurate. His guard was well earned and had served him when all was uncertain. Unfortunately, Horus knew that this was just the beginning, training had only just begun. He knew nothing about the Jedi Code beyond what myth and legend revealed about them. Master Luy was clearly a shining example of what a Jedi was, certainly living up to the tall tales and as spry as in his younger years. If the damn near perfect footwork was any example. Even the stoic impression never left his composure, his voice never wavered.

“I prefer to avoid conflict if I can. I only use my sword when absolutely necessary... And most times it’s just not necessary.”

He smiled again as Nikka mentioned something about when they’d begin, giving a careful nod, never letting his eyes leave the old Master. He was taught how to fight, just like he was taught to play instruments, by his spacer of a father. He and Azran would play “Jedi” when they where kids. Before it was revealed just how dangerous the game could be, and did become. His eyes, which glowed ever so slightly, sparked to amber as he continued to speak.

“I’m sorry, Eldrin...”, Eldrin was the Vahlan word for Master,“...I don’t know very much about the Jedi Code. Music or full body meditation is right up my alley - but your Order is shrouded in mystery. Even this is pretty mysterious.”

Luy nodded as each student promised that they were ready and eager to begin learning. He smacked his chest and raised his 'sword' into the air. "Good. Very good!" he dropped the point and planted his long walking stave into the sand. "Now you will study. I will cometo each of you in turn, cycling through and ensuring that you are learning all you need..." he clapped his hands together and stretched his arms out. "... and soon, only the Force knows, but soon I see new Jedi entering the Order and following the Path. Remember this, 'there is no ignorance, there is knowledge'." The old Master placed his hands together and bowed his heads to the students.

"Practice hard, often, and with each other."
