The first meeting

Jaleer has been on Nar Shadda only for a short time now, and in that short time, he has seen many painful sights and felt the pain of the world. Yet he continues to travel and help those he could hoping to save as many as possible from the evil this place produces, even if he spent his entire life helping these people he knows it won't make a really difference. Yet for the ones he does save it might make all the difference and that is what he will continue to do until otherwise unable to.

Traveling down the street with his robes covering most of his body, the sage knew better than to show his lightsaber so he kept his blaster pistol ready. Wondering down one of the alleyways to grab some thugs attention, hopefully to help the man change his ways if there was one near him.

Keita was running as he fast as he could, he could hear the gang behind him shouting as they perused him into the busy streets of Nar Shaddar. His bare feet making light echo's as he was running. He noticed an opportunity to make his escape as he quickly dived into a back alley. He sprinted towards the end of it before leaping over it and dropping down the other side. He walked out into the middle of the bustling street, hoping to hide amongst the busy civilians. He had noticed a man in robes and began to get a sneaky suspicion that he was a merchant. Before he even though about attempting to rob him, his stomach growled in approval reminding him that he needed the credits. Sighing, Keita made his way towards the man, pulling a knife out when he got close. "Sorry Mister, but I need all of your belongings!" as he continued to make his way towards him

Jaleer had been letting the force speak to him, telling him of his surroundings that he would not have notice with his simple senses, wondering into the alley he was still able to feel the pain that the planet is experiencing. It has not change since the days he first came here to help change the world, so keeping his hands on his pistol just in case someone pops out of nowhere to try and mug him, a common thing on this forsaken planet.

When he felt the presence behind him, the sage turned to find a young man with a knife threatening him, which was honestly surprising the kid looked to young to be a criminal which made Jaleer feel bad. If this kid was already doing criminal acts, than this world truly needs the Jedi to come and help, deciding it was best to take away the knife before the kid tries something or got hurt, Jaleer stretched out his hand and pulled the knife away from the kid, and into Jaleers palm.

Looking at the blade, Jaleer felt bad and it showed in his face a frown was unusual on the sage and felt wrong, but even the Jedi knight couldn't hide his sadness.

"Kid your too young to be mugging people, tell me whats your name?" Jaleer asked looking at the kid hoping and praying to the force to be able to help him.

Well this was certainly an interesting turn-round. He didn't expect it at all. He studied the man and got a weird vibe from him, some sort of
presence from him. It felt weird, he hadn't felt it before. Something was wrong but he couldn't place what it was. He had watched as the knife was pulled from his fingers from thin air.
"You can do that too? I didn't know other people could do that. Sir, just exactly who are you?"

Jaleer wasn't surprised to see that the kid didn't know what the force was, most likely meant he doesn't know who Jedi are, so Jaleer decided that he needed to take this child away if possible.

"My name is Jaleer and I am a Jedi knight. You don't know what this is do you?" Jaleer said lifting the knife and making it float in front of his palm, most likely the answer will be no.

Which made Jaleer feel bad whoever was supposed to be taking care of this kid was doing a bad job, of course it was possible if the kid was all alone, but that was something the sage hoped wasn't the case. If so than clearly this kid needs to be taken away before he becomes another thug in the crowd, an if he wasn't trained he might unfortunately start to use the dark side.

"Tell me whats your name?" Jaleer ask nicely going onto one knee while he addressed the child, his relaxed smile showing, hoping to ease the worries of the kid.

"My name is Jaleer and I am a Jedi knight. You don't know what this is do you?"

A Jedi on Nar Shaddar! Now that was a shock. He had heard stories of the Jedi and they were quite well known in Nar Shaddar for arresting gang members. "You're a Jedi! I know what they are. Never met one before. I'm not quite sure what you mean" He watched in awe as the Jedi seemed to effortlessly lift the knife in front of him. Not many Jedi ever showed up due to how horrible it was

"Tell me whats your name?"

"My name is Keita Takota, pleased to meet you!"

Jaleer was surprised that Keita was knew what a Jedi was, given that he looked homeless, full of stitches, and a skinny body that only comes from not eating enough, the sage knew he was going to have to help this kid. Most likely this was the force showing him what he was meant to do, which he felt a bit happy about, Jaleer always wanted to be a father so this is actually good for him. Though he wasn't going to mention it to Keita, for now he knew this meant a new padawan has shown himself so Jaleer had to be the teacher rather than the father.

"Well I am surprise you know of the Jedi, but tell me what are you doing all by yourself young one?" Jaleer said turning more into the teach and hoping that Keita would agree to becoming a Jedi like Jaleer.

"So Keita, tell me do you know what the force is? Its alright not to know many people only have speculation of it." Jaleer said knowing that he has meet plenty of people that didn't truly understood the force, though that was alright if you cant feel it, than it's hard to understand.

"Well I am surprised you know of the Jedi, but tell me what are you doing all by yourself young one?"

This man was clearly a man who didn't go to Nar Shaddar enough to know of how it works. There was no family, there was no sticking up for one another, it was every man for themselves out here. "Well, everyone has at least heard about Jedi and Sith out here, they have a bad reputation out here, especially in the criminal underground which is 90% of the population. As for me, i've been on my own for some time now.... The force?? I think I've heard of it before, many say its witchcraft which is not true at all! I mean is that what you are doing?"

He stood and examined the man as he noticed that Jaller was examining him, almost taking every ounce of his body. "So Mister, can we possibly go somewhere else, its not the safest patch here"

Jaleer was glad to hear that even the stories of the Jedi can reach the crowded and dense planet that was as far from the events of the galaxy as possible. Not only that but Jaleer didnt have to explain everyting to the kid, other than the force that is, which wasnt that much of a problem considering it could have been worse. Thinking that the kid was right and talking in a safe place since Nar Shadda could be a dangerous place smiling and standing up, and cleaned his robes.

"Well I will tell you more about the force when we get to a safe place. Want to get some food since your hungry, you can lead the way, and don't worry I won't run away." Jaleer said hoping to get this kid someplace safe and feed since he was hungry, and might one day become a Jedi.

"I can't imagine you ever running away, what kind of Jedi would you be then?" Keita laughed. The Jedi he thought were all disciplined and carried no emotion and yet this knight seemed to be a kind, caring and joyful man considering where he was in this world. The world of sadness. "Follow me." Keita made his way to the nearest diner that sold decent food. He had never been in but it had a good reputation for good food. He led the way inside the diner which smelt of smoke and various other drugs. It was common in the streets so Keita didn't mind, he had became used to it. He quietly sat down at one of the tables before looking at Jaleer again "What's a Jedi like?"

Jaleer smiled at the kid, having a bit more compassion that the usually zealot Jedi. Doesn't mean the Jedi are heartless, just that Jaleer understood many Jedi needed to remember their primary purpose rather than just destroying the darkness. Walking with the kid Jaleer was glad to see the kid joke with him, even if it was a drastic difference of personality just a few minutes ago.

"Will do." Responding to the kid when he said to follow him, Jaleer kept a eye out for anything that required his attention.

Even when he was suppose to watch over the kid Jaleer will still focus on helping as many people as possible, even though he was only one man. An will almost bump into the kid when they got to a restaurant that the sage wouldn't normally go to eat at. Because all the smoke was contained in the building it was thicker than outside and caused the sage to cough a bit. A clear sign that he was a new comer and hasn't adjusted to the unclean air of the planet.

"It's very homey." Jaleer joked, sitting on the table that Keita went to and taking the spot in front of the kid so he could look at his eyes.

Caught off guard the sage didn't think the kid would ask such a question so quickly. But putting on a smirk the sage extending his senses with the force feeling the universe around him. Sensing the life force of every being in the restaurant yet the smirk turned into a full smile sensing the strong force potential in the kid.

"So why you asking kid? Because I'm curious as to what you see when you say the word "Jedi" what images and words are connected such a word?" Jaleer ask hoping to learn a bit more about the kid, before taking the next step.

Hmmm, that was a difficult question, he wasn't quite sure what to say to the man. he started to cipher through the images in his head of what the Jedi were supposed to look like. "Hmmmm, a Jedi out here is usually someone who stops gang activity when the Sector Rangers aren't around, so to them, you are the number 1 kill on their list. But the stories of the Jedi seem so cool! They help people and the smack people around with big lightsabers and the use mystical abilities to overcome their enemy, the Sith.

What else do the Jedi do? Also... I don't mean to ask this rushed or whatever but... what are their recruitment standards?"

Jaleer watch as the young man thought on his question, which the sage was glad to see that he was at least taking the time to think rather than just spitting out whatever came out of his head. Listening to what he said, the sage smiled though sadly the kid seemed not to understand that Jedi are more than warriors but peacekeepers and scholars, so there will be many lessons for the young man.

"Well yes but it is very incompletely my young friend, Jedi are a lot more than warriors and don't let that fool you though, we do fight and we use a energy called the force to guide us. An though Jedi do help out with crime, but we always have to work with the Republic, since apparently many senators feel that the Jedi do to much for the Republic in terms of law enforcement." Realizing he was probably boring the young kid the sage just scratch the back of his head, feeling embarrassed for being the boring old adult he tries so hard to not be.

"Sorry about that kid, forget the adult stuff its boring. Anyway we also fight our enemy the Sith like you know, but we also try to teach, and heal we should be more scholarly but during times like theses the Jedi do need to fight, even if they don't want too." Jaleer said knowing once again he was being a boring adult but this time it was for a good reason.

"As for our standards, its nothing really that you give your life solely to the force, and there is this thing with blood an losing a hand..." Jaleer had a huge annoying grin and started laughing far more than he should even if the joke was a bad one.

"Sorry just joking, but if you can feel the force and are willing to listen and let it guide you than a Jedi you can be." Jaleer started into the kids eyes with a more serious look now, becoming more of the teach, that he sometimes is, looking to see the reaction of the kid so that the sage might see how Keita reacted.

Keita sat and listened, making sure he heard every word that the Jaleer said. Keita sat and levitated the menu, letting it turn the pages quickly. "So the force can guide me for picking what food I want from the restaurant? Just kidding! So I have picked up that the Jedi are guided by the force, they do the "Republic's work" and that the force has various shapes and forms."

"What about the rest of the Jedi's work, and what about the lightsabers?"
