Zaa Fenn Penthouse, Eriadu

This was it, years of sweat and blood, groveling to idiots, working for scum, and tolerating fools had finally paid off. This was her big shot, the one she had been working towards all along, a chance to sit at the grown ups table. Marissa Hesse was a legend, a fixer of such renown that just working with her was a stamp of honor. If she trusted you with a job or thought it worth her time to arrange a job for you then you were someone worth something. So the fact that Jade had managed to get a meeting with Hesse was a pretty big deal, at least to her it was.

She had never been to Eriadu before, she had never met anyone from the Zaa Fenn family either, much less someone so high up, so this was going to be a day of many firsts. To say she was nervous would be an understatement, but she was just as excited. But she didn't let any of that show as she walked into the apartment complex, the guards at the entrance giving her a once over and letting her through with a nod after they matched her biometrics against their records. She was sure she had been followed since the moment she landed at the spaceport, and the guards must have known she was coming well before she reached the complex. You didn't rise as high and life for as long as Hesse had without being cautious.

The ride up to the penthouse was a fidgety one, as she mentally prepared herself for the meeting. She had one shot, she had to win her over with this one pitch. No pressure.

She stepped out of the elevator door into a functionally lavish apartment, but spotted no one. Unsure of what to do, she started walking towards the main foyer area right in front of the elevator door, calling out to see if anyone was there. "Hello?"

Preef had imagined it all a bit different, or maybe he hadn't really thought about it, but one thing he knew for sure: he was bored. Being the boss of a syndicate wasn't exciting work. He had meetings instead of blasterfights and all day the families kept bothering him with talk about that kriffing virus. "All my slaves are turning into zombies!" Like Preef cared about your slave trade going to the kriffers? Should never have banked on cheap sentient labor anyway. He was tired of trying to convince the old fat crimelords he lorded over to turn to theft and robbery in these trying times.

He was recording a holo-reply as Jade entered the penthouse. "-I agree its regrettable that you have lost good cybernetics to their hosts catching that virus." Preef could never quite wrap his head around Haro Mothraki's perspective. The cyborg was more machine than man, sure, but that didn't mean he could treat his family members like easily replaceable droids, could he? Maybe Preef should've told him to put more effort in protecting his family, but he didn't. "Salvage what you can and get your ships to Keldooine. Let's see who had the credits to leave Hutt space and-" he paused mid-sentence as he spotted Jade walking into the foyer from his seat in the holo-meeting room, "-rob them of what they got left." He ended the message and hit send.

Ten seconds later he was in the door opening looking at the Mirialan with a somewhat confused expression. "Who let you in here?"

The rodian gunslinger noticed that the KX-series Security Droid standing next to the elevator was still in standby mode. That meant the Miralian had her biometrics scanned and approved on file. Interesting.

It took Jade a moment to turn her eyes away from the ornate vase she was staring at, having been engrossed in trying to figure out how much it would sell for. She spotted the Rodian emerge from further in the penthouse and knowing who she was here to visit it didn't take her long to recognize who he was. Preef Callo, the boss. The boss of bosses.

If she had been nervous before it was nothing compared to what she was feeling now, this was not a meeting she had been expected, or was in any way prepared for. She did ultimately find her voice though, and was proud of the fact that her voice didn't waiver or reveal any of what she was feeling on the inside.

"My name is Jade, I have a meeting with Marissa Hesse. Regarding a job."

It took a while for the Mirialan to respond, but when she finally did the rodian raised his non-existent eyebrows in surprise. "Meeting with Marissa?" he repeated with the same sense of surprise that was written on his face. Marissa wasn't at the penthouse.. in fact, she was travelling and wouldn't be back for a couple of days and yet the meeting was pre-approved as the droids didn't engage this stranger. Well... stranger no more. "Hmm, she must've set this meeting for us to meet." the rodian concluded, probably incorrectly, but he was bored and if the Mirialan... no, Jade.. had a job she wanted to pull off with the help of the Zaa Fenn. That'd offer some excitement in his life, for sure.

"I am Preef Zaa Fenn, but you can call me Preef-" he smiled as he stepped forward and directed the Mirialan to the living area with couches and drinks. "-and now tell me about this job." he sat down on one of the couches and immediately lounged backwards. He was clearly very comfortable and who could blame him? He was home. He was Preef Callo. More importantly, he finally had some change from his boring job as syndicate boss.
