OOC: Profile is here (http://www.thestarwarsrp.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9241) if you want to find more about Mhenlan/the situation before you post.

IC:

.:.It was another day - another day being stuck in the force cage, another day of being interrogated and tortured. The Kiffar ran a hand through his short, brown hair - he had nearly forgotten how long he was imprisoned in this Sith temple. Mhenlan Vos, Jedi Master, came to Arkania searching out the man who had killed his padawan and friend - even the Jedi Council authorized Mhenlan to investigate the threat. It seemed like ages ago when he first entered this temple and was brutally ambushed by the Sith Lord named Darth Calamity. He wondered when he would be rescued, but he had decided he would have to act, now. Some how he would get himself out of the force cage, and now was the perfect time. It was early morning, and Calamity was asleep. To make it even better, Mhenlan's weapons were sitting right on top of the cracked wooden table in the corner of the chamber. It was a fair sized chamber; dark, with few cauldrons of fire hanging up on the old, stone walls. Green shrubbery somehow found its way inbetween the stone, to a point where it was expanding into the chamber. Another unique feature about this holding room was the steady leak of water - it could drive one insane.

Mhenlan gathered himself, and drew upon the lightside of the force. It was a great feeling to be relieved of the darkness of Arkania. He had an advantage - being a kiffar. And that meant that he had the rare power of psychometry - he could read the history of inanimate objects. Mhenlan intended to find out where the wiring was, and find a weak spot. Hopefully by then, he could disable the cage... and maybe even by then he would be rescued after his months of imprisonment. The diligent Jedi had a hard, determined look upon his face as he began his work. In a matter of hours Darth Calamity would awake.:.

The blue abyss faded away with the pull of a lever. The haze transformed into the starry darkness of space. Not far away was the planet Arkania. It was one place Cyril did not expect to visit much in his lifetime. The terrain was depressing in his mind; he preferred planets where growth was vivid and colored the lands. He knew why he had to be here, and his mind reminded him of the task.

It had been appointed for Cyril to file current dealings of the Council. His curiosity came across him when he accidentally came upon cold cases of the past. The master knew very well that such occurrences were not just luck, bad or good, but are caused by the Force. He gave each cold file a cursory glance until he came across a recent file. A Jedi named Mhenlan Vos had gone mission on Arkania on a mission to find his Padawan’s and friend’s murderer. He this was back in the time of Calamity, but the Republic held the planet that the missing Jedi vanished on. He would go and find whatever traces were left of the lost Jedi. If he were still alive and Lightside oriented, he could not be abandoned. However, such a think seemed unlikely after such an amount of time.

Cyril brought the ship he piloted down in a remote area. He shook his head at the surroundings; he could see nothing yet but vast spots of tundra. The ship stopped in the last recorded spot of the Jedi; it was the coordinates of the last Comlink transmission. That could mean anything in such places. He could have disappeared miles from the spot.

Cyril leapt out of the small vessel and onto the ground. He stood ready for any traps, even though he came without anyone luring him, but the force. Nothing happened, and confidently he lowered his posture so his bear feet and one hand firmly touched the ground. He closed his eyes and felt the vibrations of the land around him.

There was nothing out there by tundra and minor hills. No traces or footprints existed to tell where any soul had gone. Every piece of evidence had worn away. Suddenly something stood out; it was very distant, but a series of stones in an unnatural setting stood out. He stood up and faced the direction of the formation. He walked briskly across the tundra, knowing that his destination was miles away. He did not take his ship, because if this was a hidden Sith temple, he did not wish to alert the swarm of his approach.

.:.Mhenlan studied the cage for 30 minutes; he finally concluded that it would be impossible for him to get to the wiring, but at least it was a start. He leaned back in the force cage, and ran a hand through his hair. He had almost lost all hope of getting out, until he sensed a new presence... one aligned with the lightside; a Jedi perhaps? It still remained a mystery why Mhenlan could sense things through the force while in the cage, but not use the force to touch things outside of it. Calamity would be getting up very soon, too soon for comfort. The Jedi Master couldn't do anything except listen to the steady, persistent drip of water - and wait for this newcomer, who he hoped was here to rescue him. The Kiffar almost couldn't bare to find out how long it has been since he first started this investigation. Mhenlan sat back, and rew about the force, breathing deeply and calmly. He did not know what would happen in the next few hours, but one thing was for sure: he would need all of his strength.:.

The traveling was easy and sapped little energy. The Jedi had no clue that a rush was needed, so he used the minimum amount of energy to travel at a rapid pace. It had been pitch black in the region when he had landed, but the solitary sun was just beginning to rise as he came within good sight of the stone landmark. He was close enough to clearly feel each vibration within the structure; he knew where the entrances were and the location of everyone inside. One man was asleep while the other seemed to be in an uncomfortable position; the way the second was positioned it seemed that he was in a force cage, which was also felt from tiny vibrations.

Cyril carefully moved across the hard tundra and approached the entrance nearest the cell. Of course, it had to be closed. This did not dismay the Jedi. Instead he decided to cheat a bit. He circled the stone building until he approached a semi-thin layer of stone. The telekinesis master steadily took a strong and powerful stance. He lifted his hands and grabbed at the air. The stones made only minor cracking sounds as they were liberated from the wall. Silently a small portion of the wall floated outwards leaving an opening large enough for the master to enter.

Carefully Cyril stepped into the building. He was always wary around places with force cages, and the man still laying asleep could be a great threat. He did not wish to disturb anyone he did not have to. Thus, his bare feet moved noiselessly across the stone floor. He used his telekinetic sense to navigate the halls; it was not long before he came before the room that held the force cage. Composing himself, he prepared himself for a trap and stepped within the room.

.:.Mhenlan felt the presence get closer and closer, and then, it entered the room. The Jedi Master came out of his deep trance of meditation - it was how he endured all of this torture Calamity pressed upon him, and it was how he survived for the long, never-ending days. Mhenlan Vos looked up, his dark eyes curious to examine the newcomer... it was no Sith. It was a Jedi, but one that he didn't remember from Ossus. Mhenlan stood up to his full height, and straightened himself up - his heart was pounding - was this his long awaited rescuer? The Kiffar walked up to the edge of the force cage to get a better view of his possible ally. He was obviously a Jedi. Mhenlan looked around the room, overlooking the Jedi - no signs of the Sith Lord yet, which was great. Hopefully the pair would get out before the Sith woke up; he wanted to avoid a needless encounter. Mhenlan silently motioned the Jedi towards the switch; he didn't want to make anymore noise in the Chamber than that of the constant drop of water.

Mhenlan's eyes set on the Staff of Vos; the double edged lightsaber, which he had made famous. It was in a moment's reach once the force cage was disabled. He ached to get a hold of it, it was a symbol of his devotion to the lightside and his prowess in battle. But for now, all he could do was wait - he was at the mercy of the Jedi infront of him. Danger was near - in moments, Calamity would be awake - there was enough time to release Mhenlan from the force cage, but could they escape without a duel with the Dark Lord? Mhenlan Vos took a deep breath and waited.:.

Cyril eyed the man within the cage; this had to be the missing Jedi. Even if it wasn’t, no being deserved to be locked up in such a cruel state. He did not hesitate to look for the switch. The man within the cage obviously knew the surroundings, and that the man asleep was dangerous. The prisoner was silent by used non-verbal forms to communicate. The switch was on the wall, as the prisoner motioned. Without a moments hesitation, the force rushed down on the control panel and two wires disconnected; the cage was rendered inoperable.

Cyril kept close count on the vibrations of the ground. The man, whoever he was, did not know about Cyril’s telekinetic sense; the Jedi he knew best barely did. This captor would not be able to sneak up on the Jedi Master, regardless of any cloaking power, unless he knew he had to hide vibrations. However, this telekinetic sense would not allow the two to escape the stone building unnoticed or unharmed. He could only knew that the captor was approaching.

The telekinesis master did not hesitate to turn from the prison room towards the hallway. He had to get this man out of this place, as well as his own self. And so, he made his step to exit the room.

.:.Mhenlan silently thanked the man for saving him... he was free - or was he? They had to act fast, Calamity was bound to notice. Mhenlan grabbed his equipment, including the Staff of Vos and followed Cyril, being as silent as can be. Mhenlan's heart was pounding, he was out of the cage, and just a few hundred feet away from leaving this cursed temple. It was a wonder to finally use the force freely again, the Kiffar smirked at the feel of its energy seeping throughout this veins. But, the time for rejoice would come later, Mhenlan and the other Jedi still needed to get out of the temple; hopefully they would get out unscathed. He lifted his double bladed lightsaber in his right hand, and put his left hand to the cold, ancient stone. He read the object... there was something on the other end of the door. Mhenlan and Cyril had no choice but to go through.:.

--------------------------------

.:.Calamity almost screamed - he waited this long and only ONE Jedi had come to rescue Mhenlan Vos? He was deeply disappointed, but he didn't complain too much. He stood in the hall way, his black cloak draped around his body. He was behind the Cyril the whole time... but wasn't stupid enough to make noise. Oh no, he knew this Jedi Master well, as he did most people in the galaxy. He had his own archives that he was quite proud of - he spent a decent amount of time studying about his enemies in there since he heard of the death of his wife and his child. Some say that the rage from hearing about the losses had blinded him, but gave him disgusting strength. A dark smirk played across Calamity's face: Mhenlan and Cyril were walking out of the door: perfect.

A black figure was in plain sight now for the two Jedi - a figure that was unafraid, and even though that it was simply standing there it looked threatening. Calamity, Dark Lord of the Sith planned to spill blood - he wasn't going to let these to go, unless he wounded them once or twice, at least. His large hands brought down the hood of his black cloak, and revealed white hair and glowing, taunting eyes. He brought one of his lightsabers out, in a relaxed grip within his right hand. It wasn't ignited, yet. He let the force flow through him, letting its raw power rip through his body. Calamity spoke - his voice echoed and seemed to have a sting to it.:.

"I've had this pathetic Jedi for how long, and all they send me is another puppet of the Grandmaster?"

The ground shook and agitated the feet of Cyril; he knew too well the approach of the captor. Silence was golden on the attempt at stealth, but the vibrations of the surrounding world could not be undone by hampering sound waves alone. Regardless, the Jedi Master was a much aware of the fact that the escape was better than the stand. He did not make any emotion to emulate the fact that he knew they were being followed. He only hoped that they could get out before they were caught; his hopes were in vein.

A mighty door stood in their path. It was one that Cyril could easily be removed through telekinesis, but it would be too much of a risk with the captor nearby. Whoever this man was, it was doubtful that battle was inevitable. These worst fears came into reality; the vibrations told the figure was within sight of the two. Regardless of this news he did not turn. The curved hilt rested at the ready, while the canteens full of water were prepared. The hands remained bare, to keep peace until the final moment. This captor would not likely let these two Jedi walk out the front door.

The voice of the captor echoed in the ears of the telekinesis master. The head turned to see who this stalker was. To the amazement of Cyril, the man who opposed him was once a Dark Lord. It had been a long time since he had faced a Sith in battle; he had won with ease and suffered minimal damage. However, the dual was against a Sith Lord, not the Dark Lord himself. This man Calamity was no longer the Dark Lord; many presumed he was dead. Regardless, a stand would be dangerous, even to a high standing council member.

”I am not worthy,” Cyril responded sternly to the dark figure, ”to be a puppet of my grandmaster.” He revealed his empty hands, attempting to show a weakness. He knew that he could call his lightsaber into his hands in under a second. ”And you, Calamity,” the Jedi poke firmly, ”are not worthy to challenge my name.”

"I see they don't do much to clean out the mouths of the Jedi in the temple these days."

.:.Calamity looked at the two; he knew that his powers were great - he had mastered ALL aspects of the force, not a feat many could claim. Calamity's power was very intimidating, and most of those who encountered him thanked him for death. On this occasion, however, Calamity wouldn't be so forgiving - he now blamed everyone for his wife's death, and these two Jedi would be no different. The force around him was tainted, like a thick stink. It was nearly intoxicating to be around. He called upon the force, and most importantly, his mastery of the unified force. He manipulated the air in front of Cyril's face, and then out of nowhere, the molecular state of the air changed, and it combusted right in front of the face of Cyril. His eyes watched on, relaxed. If Cyril was truly capable, he would be able to counter such a simple display of the unified force. One of Calamity's greatest mistakes, however, was expecting that his former Prisoner was fatigued...:.

-------------------------------------------

.:.Mhenlan calmly eyed the Dark Lord - Mhenlan was relaxed - this time he would be facing the Dark Lord instead of being attacked from behind and imprisoned. Mhenlan gathered the force around him, and let it flow throughout his body in case he had to counter anything, fast. He held his dual edged lightsaber in a relaxed grip, ready to act. He knew Calamity's power and wasn't about to make a stupid move. Mhenlan Vos was an accomplished and notable Jedi Master - years of training and studying instilled a wisdom and knowledge not achievable by most. He felt the force around Calamity energize, and then a combustion infront of Cyril - Calamity was utilizing the Unified Force. Within split seconds, Mhenlan mustered the force out of him into a powerful force wave, heading right towards the Sith lord. The control of the force wave was amazing, containing the right amount of power and precision, displaying true mastery. Mhenlan hoped it would catch the Sith Lord off guard before he could pull off anymore tricks of the Unified Force.:.

Cyril eyed Calamity in wonder of what attack this Sith of old had in store. He did not sense the build up in the Force, but only the technique his master had taught him, when his prodigal skills in telekinesis were discovered. Thus he was prepared for the worst move to face him.

Air partials suddenly changed around him. Vibrations were detecting a rapid increase of entropy just a tiny bit away from his own face. Time was off the essence as the master was Force to defend. As the oxygen rushed to form a great combustion, the master fell back onto his hands. The combustion occurred creating a flame and shock wave. The shock wave was negligible as it only hit the stable figure on the ground. The flame, however met a different demise.

Without a stop in motion, the telekinesis master transitioned his chi to his left foot and emitted a spinning kick with his right leg. The attack seemed to be useless as such a distance, but it was not so. The words of control, focus, and strength echoed in the mind of Cyril as the technique was preformed. Fire will destroy everything in its path, if one does not have the will to control it. Thus the memory was of his master. Calamity may have remembered the burned “X” on the body of Uric. Cyril had learned the skill that caused this scorching; his own master of old, Deven Jarmain, was the master of the manipulation of fire. Pure technique was required for great effectiveness, and thus it was. The combustion’s flame followed the direction of the leg, and created a blazing arc of fire; the flames would have looked like a wall to Calamity.

The fluidity did not end. The spinning kick ended with the master on his feet. His cloths were wrinkled and hampered by the shockwave, but no bodily damage was faced from the artificial explosion. The Jedi only looked more like a ruffian, than a well groomed Jedi. Such was the state this Jedi preferred, and he stood ready for the next attack Calamity might make, assuming he did not suffer from the flames. The hands remained open and unarmed.

.:.Mhenlan knew the pair needed to buy time... there had to be someway to escape without going through Calamity. If they had to, the price would be dire. Then, the Kiffar's eyes caught the dark light from another passage. Yes - it was the one Calamity took him in - a secret exit out. He knew, however that it would take awhile to open up the door. Any attempt was worth it, and this the Jedi Master knew.:.

"Hold him off!"

.:.Calling upon the force, Mhenlan surged down the side hallway with the enhancement of force speed. The door was slowly approaching, and Mhenlan knew that he would need time to pry it open. Hopefully Cyril could hold Calamity off for at least a little while. Mhenlan wished they had more time; he pushed forward so it wouldn't be too late.:.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.:.Calamity swelled himself with the force. The power around him was like an endless reservoir of despair and darkness. The Dark Lord read Cyril's move. The brightness of the fire urged towards Calamity, its essence of ember waiting to scorch the very skin of the Dark Lord. Meanwhile, Mhenlan had caught Calamity off guard - the Jedi Master's force wave crashed into Calamity and pushed him up into the air, further down the passage. This granted him more time to counter the searing flames from Cyril. Calamity pushed himself up into the air and reached out with his left arm. His large hand quickly turned into a giant fist, neutralizing the molecules of the fire, making them inert.:.
"The time of the Jedi is over, as is your life."
.:.The saber in Calamity's right hand surged to life, its blood red blade menacingly shining against the darkness of the hallway. The light reflected upon Calamity's snow-white hair, making it seem like the Sith Lord was enveloped in an aura of darkness. He slowly approached Cyril, Calamity's lightsaber at his side ready to strike and sink its strength into Cyril's flesh. As he approached, he silently used the unified force to attack Cyril's mind. Calamity delved into the reservoir of power at his command, calling upon its darkness to do what he willed. Within a split second, spikes and shards of disgusting pain would surge their way through the brain of the Jedi Master. To most, the pain would make one feel like their head was about to explode - many lost the will to live. Calamity's dark, taunting eyes looked on waiting to see what Cyril would do.:.
The master watched the Sith approach him, and readied himself. Suddenly, without a seconds notice the room darkened in his eyes. Cyril knew what was about to pass, but it was not something he could just will away. Many mental strikes he could stop through experienced will, but there were some that would be too strong. His own master had noticed a weakness and trained the young student to defend it as best as he could, but even that would not undo what was to take place.
The world swirled around the telekinesis master and he stepped backwards to regain footing. His senses shut down and his eye lids shut. It seemed like years passed in the time that it took him to walk five steps backwards, but it was only a moment. The last thing he could tell was him collapsing to one knee.
It is true that the telekinesis master only had one strong defense against a powerful mental strike, but it only occurred under dire stress. It had been years since such an incidence passed this Jedi. This was not something that would just happen when a low powered mindshard was used. No, it required a good deal of power and trauma to trigger the defense.
It was not even a second after the collapse that it came to pass. The eyes shot open, but they were not the brown gleam they used to be. The eyes held a hue of intense light, and in the hallways it was all that could be seen of the Jedi. The Force stormed into the Master as his conscious mind was gone. The mystical power was then expelled in great strength. Sonic waves filled the halls and mental vibes shattered all minds of living creatures. The sonic breach threw debris at the Sith at horrendous speeds as the devastating mental strike was revenged through a grand piece of the brain. Nothing could be heard by severe ringing and the sound of a million dying creatures. The red glare of the halls was vanquished by an indigo. The Master held the curved hilt and held his mouth wide with a massively overwhelming Force Scream.
It did not last a lengthily period of time. It had only been but a moment for the transition to occur. The force shoved away the excruciating pain from Cyril’s brain and consciousness was restored. He knew he had passed though a corridor of unconsciousness, and did not know what came of it. He did not await the response or action of the Sith of Old; he acted immediately to eschew being a victim of an unknown strike. The ground rumbled and stone cracked. The bare heel of the telekinesis master slammed the ground generating a localized earthquake. Stone rushed as a vicious stalagmite upwards from below Calamity and aimed to drill into the chin of the evil being.
