Indupar
0800 Hours - Local

Reland Gil had traveled to one of the new Jedi safe houses, a strong hold on the planet of Indupar. He had spent much of his time either at one of the fringe Jedi Outposts or his home on Mimban. He had been asked to instruct a Padawan in the area of Shii Cho. He had gladly accepted and began to make his way to the outpost. He was impressed by the accommodations given to the Jedi here. They were much more comfortable than the living arrangements on Lamaredd.

He walked down the halls of the western wing. There were a good number of students here. It all always amazed him that however dark times were, there were always those willing to devote themselves to the path of the Jedi. It warmed his heart, but also somewhat saddened him. Some of these young ones would die in a war that had lasted for countless years, and had only grown in intensity. Though, young ones always brought the hope for change. He only wished they didn't have to grow up in such troubled times, and imagined the good they could do if they didn't need to devote all their time to surviving.

He arrived at the training room a few moments before the Padawan was to arrive and set out some of the need equipment. He took off his outter Jedi Robes and placed them on the floor near the wall. Underneath, was his traditional tan Jedi outfit. He clipped the lightsaber belt on and then clipped both of his lightsabers to it. He had already taken the time to switch both of them into a training mode, and had brought one additional training lightsaber, in case his training companion for the day did not have one of her own yet.

He was in the middle of stretching when he heard the door slide open behind him.

[OOC: After today I'll be a bit away for 5 days. I have no idea if I'll be able to response in these 5 days or not.]

Kheera moved her wet hands over her face, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She was standing infront of a water fontain which was located in the main hallway of the Jedi safe house. It wasn't a fancy water fontain like they used to have in Tython. In fact; the water fontains weren't part of the stronghold. They were only temporary, just like many other things here in the stronghold. It gave the stronghold an odd feeling. A combination between old brick walls and electricity, it just didn't fit together. But the stronghold worked and gave the Jedi protection, which was important. With the biggest sigh, Kheera whipped her hands dry with one of the towels and straighted up her back. It was her first combat training and oh boy, she was nervous. Fighting wasn't Kheera's thing, but this training was needed and she knew that way too well.

The rather tall Diathim continued with her walk towards the training chamber. While she wasn't new in this safehouse, she didn't quite know the way. It was a bad habbit of Kheera, forgetting the way. After walking around in the stronghold she noticed that she was only making couple of circles. She gave up and searched for a Jedi. The Jedi she found was a very young looking girl with long, golden and curly hair and she had the biggest green eyes. She was adorable, which crushed Kheera's heart a bit. It was painfull to watch those young Jedi, knowing that there was a chance that they would die. But they were also the future of the Jedi order. "Hey there!" Kheera kneeld a bit down, so the girl didn't have to stretch her neck. "Do you perhaps know where the training rooms are?" The girl's voice was soft, innocent. "Mhmmm! Follow me!" Kheera smiled warmly at the girl and stood straight up again. "Lead the way!"

It was a little walk to the western wing, but the girl was a good company. While she was young, she knew alot already. After a couple of minutes, the girl stopped with walking. "It's here! The training room." Kheera gave the girl a little pet on the hand. "Thank you alot, you've helped me alot by showing me the way. I owe you one!" After a little giggle and a bow, the girl skipped away. And there she stood, alone infront of the door. She heard the Jedi Master's feets move around. I guess that he's warming up already.. With a nervous sigh, Kheera placed her fingers against the door and begun with slidding the door open. The Jedi was facing his back to Kheera, so she couldn't quite tell how the man actually looked like. Kheera stepped forwards and closed down the door behind him. Before she spoke up, she rubbed her fingers nervously over the sleeves of her Jedi robes. "Greetings, Jedi master. I'm here for the combat training."

As the young woman entered the room, he turned to meet her. "Well, Greetings to you, and just on time. Please come in." he said as he motioned her in. As she stepped in the door slowly hissed closed behind her. He clipped his lightsaber back to his belt for a moment.

When she moved a little bit closer, he gave a small bow "I believe I read that your name was Kheera? My name is Reland Gil, it is nice to meet you." he said smiling. "I was excited to hear a Padawan want specific training on Shii-Cho. The temptation to rush ahead to the more flashier forms and skip over getting a proper foundation is a real struggle for most. Being flashy won't win a duel for you, having a solid foundation and patientce is much more suited to survival. His mind went back to when he was a Knight at the Jedi Temple of Arba. Him and another knight had fought two Siths as they tried to buy time for Jedi to escape. In the end the flashy style of his fellow Jedi caused his fall, while Reland's focus on defense and patience helped him stay alive to eventually escape.

"I wasn't sure if you had received a lightsaber yet or not, if not, you may use this one." he said pointing to the training saber laying on the table.

"Tell me, What do you know of the first lightsaber form?" he asked. She may very well not know anything, and that would be perfectly fine. Sometimes it was easier to teach a student from scratch, but either way her answer would help him know where to begin.

Kheera looked up at the Jedi master as he turned around to face Kheera. She must've admit, he looked quite young as she was expecting someone a bit older and grey. It brought a bit more relaxing smile to her face, he looked like a person she could trust. "I'm very glad that I'm on time! I've lost the way in the temple and a little girl showed me the way. So it's luck that I'm in time! What a wonderful safehouse this is by the way!" And before she noticed it herself, the words flew right out of her mouth. With a shy gasp, she moved her hands infront of her mouth. Rambling on about everything and nothing wasn't quite the good start for a combat lesson, was it now?

With a deep sigh and a warm smile, she removed her hands away from her mouth. "I'm sorry, bad habits." With slow movements, she stepped closer to the Jedi master and bowed deeply back to the Master as a sign of respect. "Yes! Kheera Fii, to be more precise about it. It's also a pleasure for me to meet you! How would you like to be called? Jedi master? Master Gil, Master Reland? Reland Gil? I'm fine with it all." She smiled brightly at the Jedi and moved a bit on her feet, switching her ballance on her feet to the left and right from time to time. It was something Kheera did when she was nervous. "While I can understand why some Padawans want to be taught how to do amazing flips and rolls, you can't fight without the basic!" A big feeling relief fell over her body, it felt nice to know that they thought the same about the subject.

Kheera shook her head while following the Jedi's pointing. "No, I'm sorry. I'm right now without a master, so I never had the chance to make one. In fact, I've never really touched a lightsaber before! This is all very new for me!" She moved over to the lightsaber - a bit more faster paced then before - and rolled her eyes over it. The metal of the hilt was shinning brightly, reflecting of the lights of a nearby window. Around the metal were some black lines. With a gentle touch, she picked it up in her hands. She directly noticed how heavy - for her body - the lightsaber actually was "Pffh! I expected these things to be lighter! "She moved her fingers around the metal, making sure that she didn't hit any buttons.

"I know nothing about the first form! Well ofcourse, I know that it's the basic form and I'm pretty sure that every Jedi should know it before they can learn other lightsaber forms. But that's the limit." Kheera turned her body around so she ended up facing the Jedi Master. It made the talking a bit more easier and personal. She was mostly very curious to his response and what he wanted to teach her.

Reland smiled as the girl began speaking somewhat awkwardly. It reminded him of his first days in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. "Well, it is nice to meet you Kheera Fii. You may call me Reland if you like, but any of those would also be appropriate." he gave in answer to her question. "There will be time for all of that in future I am sure." he said as she moved over quickly towards the lightsaber and picked up the hilt in her hands. He could tell she was excited to finally hold on the iconic weapons.

He laughed at her comment "Well, after a while they will feel just feel like another part of your body. You may keep that until you build your own if you wish." he told the young woman. The lightsaber while built for training purposes, was a fully functioning lightsaber and could be switched out of the lower powered "Training Setting" it was currently set to. He would show he how to do so before she left.

As she turned back towards him and explained she knew nothing of Form I, Reland was not surprised. There would be no need for her to of if today was her first day holding a lightsaber. "Then we shall start with the beginning." he said with a smile.

"Shii-Cho was earliest of the Lightsaber Forms, and was from a time when Jedi were not worried about fighting other lightsaber wielders. So its often viewed as a weaker "dueling" form than some of the others, although I would disagree. Its beauty lies in its simplicity, which it what makes it an excellent Form for new Jedi to learn. We will start out by learning one of the basic opening stances." he said pulling his lightsaber off of its belt clip. He ignited the blade, hearing the familiar hiss followed by the hum of the blade, as a green glow filled the surrounding area. He held the hilt in both hands directly in front of him, holding it just slightly below chin level. His feet were slightly wider than shoulder length apart with his right foot out in front of his body, with his left foot behind. His weight was equally distributed between both feet. "Alright, now you try." he said after letting her examine his stance for a few seconds.

"Reland it is! I'm not used to calling a Jedi Master by their name. Most of the time they look grumpy at me, going like 'No Kheera, it's Jedi master for you!" Kheera just laughed a bit at the Jedi. Her once nervous feeling was slowly dissparing in thin air. "Oh dear, I'm allowed to keep this one? Thank you a lot! I'll use it with a lot of care." Kheera rolled her eyes over the hilt that she held in her hand. She noticed the switch to turn the blade into a training blade and the button to activate the lightsaber itself. With her lightsaber aimed upwards, she activated her blade. A strong blue blade ignited out of the metal, making this soft humming sound. She moved her lightsaber a bit to the left, causing the saber to hum a bit louder. "Interesting, I must say. I've seen some Jedi fight with this before, but I've never heard this humming sound from this close!" She laughed warmly.

After Reland was done with explaining what Shii-Cho actually was, she looked up at the Jedi master and examened his stance. It was quite the 'warrior' pose. The first thing she noticed was how steady he was standing on his feet and the positiong of his hands on the lightsaber. Kheera first started with copying the position of his feet. She got the right foot infront of the body correct, yet failed to get them slightly wider apart then her shoulder lenght. Both of her hands were placed on her hilt, directly placed infront of her body. The pose felt very unnutaral to her and she felt on her feet that she was everything but steady. "Truth being told, this is more difficult then it looks!" Kheera kept correcting her pose a bit, but she just couldn't get it right.

He smiled "If wielding a lightsaber were easy, everyone would do it. Truth be told, a blaster is far more dangerous as I can train you fight with that much more quickly. A lightsaber takes finesse to even avoid maiming or killing yourself." he said moving over to the Padawan.

He took his foot and lightly kicked her foot out just a little bit. "Now, hold the blade at a slight angle." he said as he reached over and moved her arm slightly. "It will feel a bit awkward at first, but you will get used to it. There are obviously many opening stances, and in time you will develop what works for you. We start with this because it is an easier position to learn how to defend ourselves." he said taking a step back and re-igniting his blade. "As you can see you can deflect many angles of attack by merely shift the blade slightly." he said as he demonstrated what he was talking about.

"This Form, and really any fighting technique revolves around one thing: Your intuition. That is what makes Jedi and other Force Sensitive peoples potent warriors. Our link to the Force gives us a heightened intuition which allows us to react quickly, and to respond to things like a blaster shot. Take a moment and get comfortable holding the blade." he said moving to the small table in the room and picking up the small remote droid and a helmet with a shield over the eyes. It would completely block the users eyesight while they were wearing it. "We are going to start out with a simple remote droid and this helmet. We rely too much on our eyesight naturally, but lightsaber combat is about so much more. You have to listen to the Force and your intuition and learn how to respond quickly. That is what this exercise will begin to teach." he said as he tossed the helmet to the girl.

"Take your time and when you are ready we will begin." he said pushing several buttons on the remote droid setting it to the easiest setting and the lowest setting of blaster bolts. The shots would sting, but only for a brief second if they struck the Padawan. When she gave the word he would release the droid in the air. It would zip around for a few seconds before beginning to fire.

Kheera just laughed at the Jedi's comment. "I'm not quite looking at getting myself killed, so let's hope that I'll adopt to this pose quickly!" But the Jedi master was right, very right. A lightsaber was a very deadly weapon. One wrong movement and she could easily harm her own body - with a blade that wasn't designed for training, that is. A long and cold shiver ran over the young Diathim's back. Okay, no time to get afraid now! My lightsaber is in training mode. I can not damage myself nor the Jedi master. Just relax.

She took a good look at her own positioning as the Jedi master slid her foot over the quite hard and cold floor. It didn't take long before she noticed how steady she was actually standing on her feet, now that the Jedi moved her positioning around. After studying her own feet, she looked up at her arms and her lightsaber. The blade was slightly tilted and just below her chin level. She closed her eyes and tried to memorize the way her tall body was standing. After a couple of seconds, she opened her pearl blue eyes and looked up at the Jedi master as he was explaining how this pose was the easiest for defending yourself. Kheera carefully copied the Jedi Master's movements, swinging her metal hilt from the left to the right. A different humming sound then before could've been heard. She could see how these movements would block other beams. Be it a lightsaber blade or a blaster shot.

And then, the Jedi master threw a helmet. A bit clumsy she caught the helmet with her left hand while still holding the lightsaber in her right hand. She swallowed a bit nervous, she noticed how there was a shield that would block out the eyesight. "So if I miss, then I won't die. Right? Or lose 'em arms?" After the Master gave her a more comfortable answer, she moved the helmet over her head with the shielded part in front of her eyes. The helmet was a bit too tight around her head, but it wasn't too big of a deal. The biggest issue it caused was messing up Kheera's hair and the white spring flowers that were braided in it. Okay, this is new. I can't see a thing! 'em eyes are blocked, but it's okay. I'll just trust on the Force, just like Reland told me to do! She took a couple of seconds to get adjusted to seeing nothing.

"I think that I'm ready!" She said, with quite loud yet convinced voice.

He smiled at her worried question. "I think the other Masters may get upset with me if I let you die in our first session" he said jokingly. "You will be be fine...I think" he continued joking. Motioning for her to drop the shield on the helmet.

When she said she was ready the remote droid would spend the next minute shooting a bolt every ten seconds. It would move from side to side but would remain in front of her. If she was struck by a couple shots in a row, Reland would pause the exercise.

This was the most basic of exercises to build ones ability to trust in the intuition through the Force. This skill would be foundation of the rest of the abilities they learned today and in the future.

With a nervous gasp, Kheera heard the first bolt flying to her right shoulder. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" As a response, she moved her lightsaber to the right, yet the blade wasn't in place, causing the bolt to hit her. The bolt left a stinging spot on her shoulder, forcing her to move a bit backwards. Luckily enough it didn't last for too long, allowing Kheera to move back in the beginning stance as she moved her fingers firmly around the metal. She began to focus again on the sound and her own guts.

A new bolt was shot towards Kheera's direction, this time towards her lower left leg. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" She moved her lightsaber to the source of sound as quick as she could. While being a bit slow, her blade hit the side of the bolt, causing it to reflect towards the right wall. No stinging feeling this time, gotcha! Kheera moved back into her original beginning stance, focussing on the sounds and guts again. It was pleasant that she had ten seconds to recover, as she needed these ten seconds badly. She noticed how the droid moved over to the right, following a sort of pattern. With that pattern in mind, she swung her lightsaber to her right shoulder, predicting that the next bolt would be there. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" Her saber placement was off, causing to her get hit again. But her idea about the pattern seemed to be correct. The stinging feeling made her gasp a bit.

"Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" For the remaining three bolts, Kheera got hit twice and reflected the other bolt. The bolt she reflected away was hit a bit too late, therefore Kheera hit the side of the bolt and almost smashed it like a baseball against the wall.

Reland watched as the Padawan attempted the exercise. In reality, she had done better than Reland did when he started practicing. Reland had always overthought the exercise and tried to predict where the bolts would come from. The habit over overthinking situations would stick with him throughout his lifetime, but it was not the point of this exercise.

"Not bad." he commented he said in an even tone. "But you're thinking too much." he said moving to the Padawan and lifting the visor. "This isn't about trying to outsmart a droid or prove your speed. Its about learning to listen to that whisper in the back of your mind. That voice that guides us as Jedi. To do that you have to clear your mind, don't think, listen and react." he said. "Try it again, but this time don't think about." he said smiling as he pushed the visor down.

He didn't start the exercise right away. "Remember, clear your mind. That is why you wear the visor, not to handicap you, but to help free you from your senses." he said before letting the room fall into silence. The room remained that way for sixty long seconds before the droid began its quiet "wisping" sound as it moved around the young Padawan.

"Listen and Act." he said a few seconds before the first shot went off.

Kheera's cheeks rose up as he moved her visor up and explained that she was thinking too much. "It's rather difficult not to think about it, but I'll try!" She nodded with a rather serious face and tightened her grip around the hilt. It was common for Kheera to overthink things, to plan actions ahead and predicting seemed logical for her. But that wasn't the point of this training and she had to break out of it.

When the Jedi moved her visor down again, Kheera decided that she should begin to clear her mind. No more logical thinking, no more predicting. She had done it before as she wasn't unknown with mediations, so it wasn't a hard thing to do. In fact, the hardest thing was to keep it clear once the 'wisping' sound started again. Kheera shifted back in to the start position the Jedi taught her and kept her lightsaber in front of her body but before she noticed it, a bolt was fired towards her left shoulder. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" She bit her underlip as the stinging feeling rushed over her shoulder. It was a nasty feeling. Kheera, this isn't the time to lose concentration. Focus, clear that mind! She thought as she closed her eyes. Listen and act.. just as he said. And with that in mind, she began to follow the little voice in her head. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" The next bolt got shot towards her, this time she didn't think about where it would hit. She trusted the voice in her head and moved her lightsaber to the right. Her lightsaber positioning was off and the bolt hit her right hip. As a change, she decided to ignore her pain and got ready for the next shot. After ten seconds of silence, the next bolt got shot. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" And again, she followed the voice and moved her lightsaber towards her left side. The bolt got deflected from the blade and bounced off to the floor.

Looks like that voice isn't drunk, that's surprising. Kheera grinned softly and lost her concentration completely. The next bolt flew towards her and she just stood there, grinning. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" "Whoooopss!" She said with a gasp as the bolt hit her right upper arm. "No laughing time here!"

With the last two bolts, she recovered her concentration and followed the voice in her head. She dramatically missed the first bolt, as the bolt was aimed towards her leg and she moved her lightsaber towards her face. The second bolt has been deflected by the blade of her hilt.

Kheera lifted up her visor and looked over at Reland. "Something like this?" She smiled quite insecure at the Jedi, as she was new to this all. Plus she didn't like the fact that she missed four of the six bolts.

He returned the smile with one of his own "Progress" he said. "If this could be mastered in a day, everyone would be a Master, and I would be out of a job" he said playfully.

He paused for a moment, becoming slightly more serious as he faded back into his lesson. "You're still thinking too much. You need to let go and be guided." he paused thinking of an analogy. "Think about it like this." he said scratching at his beard. "The Force is a river. Right now, you are standing in that river. You feel the pull of the water and can tell somewhat the direction it wants you go, but you remain in control." he said looking into the young Padawan's eyes. "I want you to let go of the control and give it to the Force. Submerge yourself in the water, and let the Force guide with its current." he said

"Does that make any more sense?" he asked. Reland grown up in a world of analogies and metaphors, having to decipher meaning from almost every phrase during his training. He forgot that sometimes it was still difficult for young Jedi to comprehend knowledge this way. Though, there were lessons to be learned even in the deciphers of an analogy. "If you have any questions..." he said giving the girl a moment to ponder what they had talked about at and ask any questions she may had. He would take the time and answer anything she may ask to the best of his ability.

"Remember, let go of control and let the Force guide you." he said motioning for her to lower her visor. The same process would repeat again. The remote raising after a minute and continue the routine.

[OOC: Whoops, sorry for the book here. I had SO much fun writing this. Thanks to you!]

"I mean. A temple without old and grey men wouldn't hurt 'em young ones! Party every day with some dead sticks!" Her voice was teasingly, yet there was a truth in it. The Jedi masters were there to keep the Jedi padawans in control and without them, it might become a big mess.

Kheera let out a deep sigh as the Jedi master told her that she was still thinking too much. But then the man began to talk about a river, how he compared the Force with it. A doubtful gaze crossed Kheera's eyes as she thought about the words of the man. The whole idea behind how to let go became clearer to her. As if a light bulb ignited on top of Kheera's head, she loudly said "Oh! I get it!"

"It makes a lot of sense! In my head, that is. Using that advice will be.. a thing. But I actually understand you!" She began to smile from ear to ear. Metaphors weren't quite her thing, but in situations like this it came in handy. At her homeplace at Iego, metaphors and analogies weren't rare to find. Understanding them was therefore not a hard job for Kheera as her mother used too many of them. Thankfully, she bowed towards the Jedi master. "For now, I know enough. We'll see how I follow your metaphor!"

Kheera lowered her visor and began to think about the Jedi's metaphor. The Force is a river. Right now, you are standing in that river. You feel the pull of the water and can tell somewhat the direction it wants you go, but you remain in control. With a sigh, Kheera closed her eyes despite the visor and began to imagine the metaphor. She imagined how she was standing in a river, full of water splashing around. The water was pushing against her back, as the stream isn't the weakest one. The water was her Force, guiding her, and she had to listen to that water. The stream of water shifted to the right as the first beam got shot towards Kheera's, yet she didn't notice it. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" The beam hit Kheera's neck. After a little groan, Kheera moved back into the first stance and kept her eyes closed.

Remember, let go of control and let the Force guide you. His words popped up into her head. Remember, let go of control. And with that echoing in her head, she decided to relax a bit. Her stance became a less stiff as she began to let go of her need of controlling everything, which was easier said than done. With the next two bolts, she didn't notice how the stream shifted. How the Force pushed her and guided her towards the bolt. Yet when the fourth bolt flew towards Kheera's body, she felt how the stream shifted to the left. It wasn't the strongest feeling and quite unclear, but she decided to follow the shifting movement. Without listening to the beam and without predicting the training bot's AI, she moved her lightsaber towards her left side. Her blade placement was off, but certainly on the correct side. "Bzzzzzzzzzzzm!" None the less, the beam bounced against her leg.

With the last two shots, Kheera got better at feeling the Force, pushing her towards the bolts. And while she was only capable of hitting the last bolt with just a bit of luck, it was an improvement. She moved up her visor and smiled brightly at the Jedi Master. This time, she wasn't insecure. In fact, she looked a bit proud. "I get it now! Completely! I mean sure, I missed almost all of 'em, but I felt the Force, guiding me. Just like how you said, as if it was a stream of water, shifting its positioning! Sure, I still find it super hard to feel. But I felt it! I felt it guide me!" Kheera jumped happy and a bit hyperactive up and down. This was a breakthrough for her. And while she has yet to learn it all, it was a great start. For once, she worked without her mind, without her ears. Now it all came down to feeling the Force better and better. "Can I try it again?!"

Reland could sense the Padawan struggling to grasp the concepts in her mind. To some it came natural, but it didn't came right away to her. In that respect, she reminded him much of himself. Reland had struggled and struggled with Force in his early days as a Jedi. Masters and Knights far too busy with the war to take the time for the struggling padawan. In many ways, the Jedi exile after the battle of Coruscant had made Reland the Jedi he was today. It was the first time he had received one on one instruction.

He made it a point to help those with the same struggles. The Force was immensely complex even its most simplest forms. One's struggle to understand it gave a Jedi the needed respect it deserved. It was not some magic well for Jedi to draw from whenever they wished. These were the teachings often lost in times of war. It was hard how to focus on philosophy when the Jedi would need to defend themselves and others as quick as possible.

Kheera was struck by many of the bolts, but Reland knew she had begun to listen to that subtle pull of Force. He had never seen a Padawan so happy and preform as she did. It brought a smile to his face to see her reaction to her break through.

"Oh, you get it completely?" he said smiling. "Well, Master Padawan, I would hate for you to be bored. Shall we add another?" he said walking over to the table and holding up the second droid. If she protested he would dismiss it as the joke he meant it to be and place the second droid down and would motion for her to try it again, but if she accepted the challenge, he quickly set the second droid up and the they would run the same exercise but with two droids.

It enjoyed the Diathim to see how the Jedi Master smiled, caused by her response. And then, he acted on a way that she didn't see coming. The Jedi Master let go of his rather seriousness attitude and joked around with her.

Kheera's cheeks rose up as the Jedi master 'mocked' her teasingly and ask her if she wanted another one. Directly, she shook her head - which caused her helmet almost to drop - and spoke up. "No no! I'm not so mastery yet! Just Knight Padawan! Two droids, pfsh, I could handle that easily. But I don't want to break a nail!" She laughed lightly, showing that she was clearly joking about it. "Noo but, of course I don't get it completely! What I meant is that I get what you meant - gosh what an odd sentence -, you see! How the Force is like a river!" The blush slowly faded away from her pale cheeks. "But no, one droid is fine for now. My skin is still soar from just handling one of 'em droid! But with that said, if you don't mind, I would like to continue with one droid until I get it under control! Then we can try two."

"Then one droid is what we shall go with, but this will be your last attempt at this exercises....for today." he said as he placed the second remote back on the table.

""This is no try." I believe is the old Jedi phrase." he said returning to the space in front of the Padawan. "In another time, you could and would spend years learning these abilities. That is a luxury that neither of us have." he said folding his arms. His tone remained quiet as he continued speaking. "It is not fair, but you will find that the Jedi life and fair are never synonymous." he said.

He scratched as he graying beard.""Do or Do not. There is no try." is the full phrase. It means that we should never attempt to do something, we should just do it. In a time where one bolt is the difference between success and failure of a mission, there is no room for error." he said stepping back motioning for her to lower her shield.

"When you block all shots in the next round, we will continue with the lesson." he left the obvious question of what would happen if she failed, which was a possibility, open. If she failed to block every blaster shot he would simply dismiss her for the day. If she wished to try again another day, they could arrange it. It was time to show what she had when there was failure was not an option.

Kheera's stomach filled up with the bad kind of butterflies. The type of butterflies that try to nom the walls of the stomach and make you feel sick, some call these butterflies 'nervousness'. Her once bright eyes became filled with stress. With a soft gasp, Kheera lowered the visor and closed her fingers tightly around the metal hilt. Jedi Master Reland was right, they didn't have the time to train until she completely mastered it with the Sith, waiting for their new attack.

She moved her shoulders a bit to get ready for the bursts of attacks, but the stress and nervousness limited her concentration a lot. Her beginning stance was off and her connection with the Force was nowhere to be found. When the first shot fired at her, she moved her lightsaber in front of the bolt yet the bolt hit the hilt and with that, her fingers. Caused by her incorrect beginning stance and the power of the bullet, Kheera lost her balance and fell backward. While it was a soft landing, she didn't have the time to correct herself in time and the second bolt was already flying towards her direction.

While it was impossible to move her arms faster than the bolt, she tried to move her lightsaber towards the incoming bolt. She, of course, was too late and got hit in the chin.

With the last couple of bolts, Kheera regained her concentration back as she became focussed on the blocking, but it was too late. Her movements were clumsy and she only managed to reflect one of the incoming bolts.

Kheera took off her helmet and the pearls of sweat became visible on her forehead. Exhausted, she sat down on one of the chairs against the right wall. She looked up at the Jedi master with a little smile and spoke up. "And so we can see that nervousness and stress is a killer." With her once clean sleeves, she whipped her forehead dry. "I should overcome it tho. If this was a real battle.." Kheera's voice broke off. After a few seconds of silence, she continued. "Luckily enough for me, it isn't a real battle! But I think that this has been enough for today."

After a short sigh, Kheera rose up from her chair and bowed deeply towards the Jedi Master. "I want to thank you for this lesson. While we ended up in a rather goofy derpness, you've still taught me a lot today and made me do things I've never done before!" Her smile became wider, the sparks came back in her eyes, she was truly happy with the results they made today. Kheera being her derpy self, she gave Reland out of nothing a big hug. "Thank you so so much!"

Once she released Reland from her tight grasp, it was time to leave.
