((This is the end of it, after this forum I shall complain no more, this forum is devoted to the transitioning of Nuka to Niva and a place for anyone I rped with to pay their respects to Nuka.))

Niva cried at the funeral. She had known the young master rather well. When Niva was but a padawan and Nuka a youngling, Niva had been best by the younger girl. She was not ashamed to say it either. Many from her year and several others had fallen to the small girl. When the topic came up as to who would take up the training of all her students Niva had instantly offered to take them all. She left the funeral half way through, unable to take the sadness of losing one so close. She went to Nuka's chambers and gathered up her various materials, studying her methods and style and even her custom techniques.

When he felt Nuka's passing in the Force, Haar took a break from his travels to return to the temple at Ossus before traveling to Coruscant for the transfer in leadership. It seemed just yesterday that Haar promoted Nuka to Knighthood. He did not expect his former student to fall in battle so soon, but what has happened has happened. He naturally felt sorrow, perhaps deeper than most, as he was one of the few that understood Nuka. Even after the rites were given, and the procession left, Haar remained at the marker.

Did I make a grave error when I was teaching you? he thought. His doubt brought an extra burden upon his shoulders, which the council member could not easily shake off. He was unsure of what to do and how to progress. Should he feel negative sentiments towards the Hutts? Perhaps, though the Hutts already had been disrupting the peace that the Republic crudely established in the years following the Alsakan Crisis.

The Jedi Master remained there at Nuka's marker, lost in thought.

Standing at Haar's side, Ajoc contemplated Nuka's death. War was a terrible thing. And it was greedy. Taking lives when it demanded. It was quite sickening. All these ill thoughts flooded his mind. Questioning whether or not our training within the Jedi Order was enough to prepare for such things such as war. Ajoc's attire had changed here recently though. It spoke of superiority with its gold lining in the wrist cuffs and lavish design with the over layered tops in which is gray coat covered. His eyes were barely visible with the way his cloak covered them. Giving off a sense of mystery. Of course Ajoc always did like feeling like some type of covert operative. But merely his robes were just for show.

"If this is all we have to look forward to when we release our students out into the Galaxy...It makes me wonder is it really worth it?"

Said Ajoc as he cocked his head slightly, looking over to Haar. He was a past master of this deceased sister within the Order. It was hard for Ajoc to imagine loosing one of his students. He had developed a relationship with each and every one of them. A relationship like that of a father and his children. Loosing them would absolutely tear him apart.

"The galaxy is not a gentle place, we both know that," Haar answered. "There is always the risk of dying, especially in times of war."

The Jedi had to pause for a moment, to maintain his composure. Memories of his time with Nuka were passing in and out as he spoke. "We have all made our own choices, with their own consequences, and Nuka paid dearly for hers."

Haar turned away from the grave, his head bowed down in grief. "Before, I was hesitant to go to war. We are not soldiers to topple regimes that we disagree with. However, I realized that everyone will feel the pain of war, regardless of who he is. With the Bogan against us and the Hutts demanding our heads, it is unavoidable that we enter the conflict too."

"I am not avenging Nuka. She would not want me to, anyways, knowing her. This is for our students, and for their teachers," Haar finished.

Wait, wait, wait! Have you ever seen a jedi sand dancer?
Return to me once you have completed these tasks and we shall spar.
We are there to protect the weak and keep things in balance.
I can sense deep within him that he wants to change.
You two follow the crates, I'll take the reactor.
Do you need some help getting to the wall?
You were supposed to deflect the bolt back at me.
I'll need to turn it in as part of my report to the council.
Did you ever tell the council your real name?
You have created weapons specifically designed to disable lightsabers.
Yet you claim to be no enemy to the jedi?
We need to get across the lava river.
Sien and I will approach on foot.
Are you interested Knight Sien?

Thank you for your help today. I will see you soon.

His fondest memories along with his last words to her were filling his mind as he watched the familiar faces all around him. He recognised them all until he caught a glimpse of her over the other side of the service to himself. They seemed to be as equally upset, she must have known Nuka well but he did not recognise he at all. His gaze on her was shattered when some one stepped back and blocked his sight, he concentration was then broken and the memories began to emerge again.

You have passed my first test.

Held tightly in his hand was the training saber given to him only a few months ago, soon he would pass it on and to the one stood next to him, Owyn.

I asked the same thing of my combat instructor when I was young, he issued me this blade.

Owyn had been the one to convince Shingen to show up today, because to Shingen showing up was like admitting she was gone, accepting he would never see her again and he did not want this, he did not want this at all.

I believe we shall find him in that direction.

Slowly the crowd began to disperse leaving but a few small scattered pockets of her closest to stand together. There were two either side of Shingen, he raised his empty hand to his face for a moment trying to disguise that he was brushing tears from his cheeks.

We may some day be of the same power.

I... I think it is time to go.” The longer he spent there the more his feelings and memories came rushing back it felt to him like soon they would break his thin emotional barrier.

Staning by Shingen's side during the funeral, Owyn focused more of his attention on his grieving master than on the ceremony taking place around him. He continued to pour feelings of friendship and support into the Force, hoping to act as the proverbial rock for Shingen to latch on to in his time of trouble.

As Shingen raised his hand to his face, Owyn turned his gaze away to afford his master some privacy, but he did gently place a hand on the older Jedi's shoulder. Perhaps the physical contact would serve even better to transfer the positive feelings from student to teacher? Owyn had no way of knowing, but he felt it was the least he could do.

While Shingen had his moment, Owyn stared intently at the grass at the base of the funeral marker, and he was temporarily overwhelmed- not with thoughts of loss, and mortality as many of the other Jedi around him were, but something altogether different. His thoughts were locked on the bond between life and The Force.

All at once, right at the point of grass Owyn was staring intently at, a small beautiful flower rose and blossomed in an instant. Owyn blinked and shook his head at what happened before him, but before he could think about it too much Shingen spoke up, saying it was time to go.

"Alright Master. I will follow you out."

She had been informed of the tragedy directly after her victory at Denon. The news had crushed all sense of pride within Lyzerg, her friend and former master had been killed. Lyzerg had travelled back to Ossus immediately, the importance of the funeral being greater than any task she could have been assigned on. Lyzerg had stayed silent throughout the funeral proceedings. There were others present who were much better with words than her, and Lyzerg chose to conduct her own service for Nuka inside her mind.

She remembered Nuka as being a worthy sparring opponent. She remembered the disbelief at finding out that Nuka was to be her master. She remembered the intense saber trainings, the unorthodox force trainings. Lyzerg remembered every detail during her time as a Padawan under her on Ossus, and whether they were good moments or not was inconsequential, the fact that they were memories of Nuka was enough to keep them.

Lyzerg preferred to hold onto the humorous memories they had shared. Lyzerg's maniacal conditions caused by boredom on the space ship during their mission, Nuka simply meditating on the floor and possibly finding it amusing. Like Sien, who now stood beside her, Lyzerg had been one of Nuka's earlier students. As Sien made his intentions to leave, Lyzerg spun around, her eyes etched with dry tear marks.

Lyzerg placed her hand on his shoulders firmly, leaning forward. "Sien." She said in a hushed tone. "Don't tell me you are simply going to 'forget' this. I know you want to hunt down those bastards just as much as I."

Shingen turned and shared deep into Lyzerg's eyes. "Standing around here is not going to help us get those bastards is it and I will never forget this!" He then turned away and began to walk in the opposite direction to the marker, wiping his his eyes once more. "I am going to... to head back to my quarters... I would like to be alone please... see you two soon."

He didn't divert from the route to his room until he realised how close he had to go to the training rooms 'I could just visit her room, I doubt anyone will mind' he thought to himself as the door fell into sight.

Slowly be began to approach, he had walked this corridor hundreds of times, none of them even close to the difficulty he was finding it this time. The closer he got the stronger the memories became, like an unbearable headache it felt like they were trying to split open his head until he placed his palm around the cool handle of the door and began to twist. Inside he was momentarily blinded by the light of the sunset but then he saw her... the silhouette stood before him. The pain seemed to disappear and his lips took the form of a smile. "I knew... I knew you were alright." He blinked once before falling to his knees then face first to the floor.

((am I the only one who remembers that this is starwars and all the doors woosh open?))

Niva turned when the door opened. It was Sien, one of Nuka's first apprentices. She had been particularly excited about this one as he had been a former deserter of the order. She was always trying to figure out how to add the fallen to their ranks. He said something strange then collapsed to the ground. gasping she knelt down before him. "Are you alright? My name is Niva, I was an associate of Nuka's."

Slightly embarrassed Shingen sat up and reopened his eyes. "Hello Niva I am Shingen." He looked around trying to recall why he had come here. "I am ok thank you but what was I doing on the floor?"

"Quite possibly, I have just come from there." Then it clicked, she looked so familiar because she was the one Shingen had seen there. "You were there as well weren't you but disappeared before the end?"

"Yes." Niva voice lowered, her eyes filling with tears. "I, I just couldn't take it. I figured the least I could do instead was catalog all of Nuka's discoveries. She had quite a few. If I find anything interesting, would you like me to contact you?"

"Yes... yes that would be good... thank you." He began to ball up again as he watched Niva eyes watering. After some time reminiscing their time with Nuka they decided to break up the discussions and leave each other in silence.

((Sorreh for late posting. Utilising this event to do some character dev. THis will be occuring after Niva and Shien run off.))

Huang Karasu, the sword master of the order had not been at the funeral. He saw no reason to attend the memoriam of, bluntly, just another master. To her students, she may have been a paragon. But, to the currently, cold, calculating, and emotionless master, she was simply a cog in the Jedi machine. One that had been defective and summarily removed.

All the acts of two of her students during and after the funeral, however, struck of heavy emotions. He felt it like a beacon. It had brought the odour of distaste to him as he sat, meditating.

Emotion is weakness.

And now, Master Niva, and another former padawan had been missing for a significant period. She was erratic, and prone to sabbatical, but it had been months. It was highly suspicious activity. He did not enjoy the Idea of Jedi wandering from the order as they saw fit. He hoped she was in her quarters.

He swept down the halls, making for the training ring he knew the Master Niva, the one who seemed to have most attraction to Master...Nuka? This lapse in duty would be duly punished by the head of all Jedi training.

The doors opened. No one was there, simply a note. She would be gone for some time. A couple of months. Leave was to be approved by the council. He touched the note, using the force, he pieced the memories of the piece of paper. She had held the notepad in her pocket at the funeral. Talking to... Sien? He dropped the note. His psychometry was improving, a small bead of pride swelled in his chest. He quickly quashed it, chastising himself for his lapse.

Emotion is weakness.

She had called him Sien. His encyclopaedic knowledge of the order brought him to the conclusion of referral to one knight, known as Sien in official records. At the moment, if he was not mistaken, he was billeted on Ossus.

He swept from the room. This plot was thickening.

He came to the room, opening the door, finding evidence of a hurried leave, with no missive of explanation.

He frowned in thought, twisting the alignment of his piercings into odd new patterns. He noted an intercom, an odd fixture in Jedi cells.

He layed his hand on the device, drawing deeply on the force. He saw what seemed to be Master Niva, though the view was blurred, and the words indistinct, all bar three.

''N-ka...b-k...-ife''

Huang's eyes snapped open. The yellow orbs, almost glowing, were cold. Emotionless. The eyes of a man who could kill, without compunction.

This abominable act would not go unpunished. He would hunt them down. And judgement would be brought.

He needed proof. There was nothing in Niva's training room earlier to suggest anything, and a thorough search of her cell, after forcing entry, revealed nothing. Perhaps Master Nuka's quarters?

He swept down the corridors, padawans, knights, and masters alike quickly moving out of his path, knowing the face of Huang when something was bad. It was best to stay out of the way.

He ended up on the threshold. He hovered for a moment, like a vegan about to enter an abattoir. He stepped in. He moved for the desk. Niva had done well covering any tracks. There was nothing as concrete proof. He would search, but he held no hope, relying on the sense of duty, that he knew the master Niva had, to bring her back to the council.

And when he found knight Niva, she would be brought before the council. And tried for her abhorrent crimes, all borne from emotion that had gotten in the way of duty.
Emotion is weakness.

((ok, @Will. First off. Niva left the note a full 2 months after the funeral ended. This time has allowed character development for both Shingen and Niva.

second, shien is the name Shingen is officially registered under. Shingen is only a recent addition to his file.

Third, Nuka would not leave any written information about Jairo lieing around as he was a secret contact. That info would only be on the holocron.

other than that, everything checks out ok.))
