Just Keep Moving

"Attention...Attention Intergalactic Flight 241 for Coronet City, Correllia, will be departing in forty five minutes, please make your way to the gate now."

Caran pulled his olive flight jacket towards his body as he fixed the cap that sat above his head, pulling it down to obstruct his eyes. He had been on the run for a few weeks now, after the events on Kuat. Keeping a low profile and simply vanishing had worked so far, but he knew he wasn't safe. If the Empire really cared they would hunt him down and kill him off. Caran Malo was an enemy to the state, as far as the Imperial was concerned that part of him was dead. He made his decision, whether or not he regretted it now, he couldn't come back from that betrayal.

Nar Kreeta still sat in Imperial Jursdiction, but the Hutta based Imperials were much more lenient and wouldn't be ready on the lookout, but still he needed to keep things as lowkey as possible. There were plenty of smugglers on this planet, he just needed to make it out of the Imperial Spaceport and out into the scum of the galaxy. Just one step at a time, we'll figure it out as we get there. He thought to himself as he made his way through a crowd of people.

As he stepped outside of the port he was greeted by a motley sight of various aliens. He took a deep gulp and pushed away his old thoughts, whatever the Imperials taught me..I'll try my best to see them as equal, he thought to himself as he began to walk down the large steps. The Empire had a strict segregation system, one in which the Aliens were often kept away from the humans. It would take some time for the man to break his views, but possibly a few helpful ones could help him see the light.

"Stop, Imperial Identification checkpoint, please ready your identification documents," an Imperial voice called out from the bottom of the steps that lead to the road. Caran peeked towards the front to see a group of six Imperial troopers standing and glancing through holo documents. Kriff..

He slipped out of the line and kept his head low, his eyes scanning to see if there was a way to sneak past the group. It seemed that all of the traffic had been redirected to flow through that central checkpoint, he could possibly re-enter the spaceport and look for a side door, but that would look risky. He needed to move soon though, he looked out of place standing off to the side from the big line.

Freyja's hair was dyed a deep red, bright green contact lens and a pair of black thick-rimmed glasses helped cover her facial features. One could never be too careful in Imperial controlled space, her sister had her fings in a dozen different pies and there was no way of knowing if there was an imperial officer walking around the corner with her photo in his top pocket. Nar Kreeta had been a risk, but The Valkyries needed the intel on the local Imperial Bastions if they were to ever make a move on the area and do some real damage.

She subconsciously touched her top pocket where the data stick was stored, the spaceport was busy, the middle of the afternoon and full of people who were looking to get off-world for one reason or another. Kara was waiting with the 'Huginn' in one of the private landing pads, but she still needed to make her way through the main station to get there. The queue for private ships was a lot shorter than the large consumer transports. She fiddled with her fake ID as the queue moved forward, then she saw the Imperial Soldiers appear, something had ruffled their feathers as they seemed to be a bit rough in their searching. The commotion had caught her eye and she spotted one man, a little rough around the edges slip out of the group his eyes and head low. 'Was that who they were after.' Never one to be a help to the Empire Freyja was intrigued and slipped out of her own queue to follow the man, back towards the main entrance of the spaceport.

Caran slipped through the crowd and back into the spaceport, his crisp blue eyes scanning through the crowd. The Imperial garrison within the spaceport were relaxed and at ease, which made the checkpoint outside so odd to the ex-Imperial. Possibly they're militia troops, unaware of the state of this spaceport. Figures, no two branches of the Republica can seem to mesh or co-operate anymore. The Imperial side of Caran left him disgusted at the sight of incompetence, Countless Rebels could be sliding through these doors at any second, I wonder who has the commanding officer in their back pocket...Oh well, this should make things a bit easier.

He kept his head down and slid through a small duty-free shop and out into a small opening that lead back towards the gates where countless individuals were waiting to travel to different parts of the Imperial held galaxy. A lot of the crowd seemed rough, though there were a few aristocrats that tread through the crowd, their Imperial bodyguards pushing the locals and mostly aliens out of the pathway.

Gate 24-1 Flight to Aaragu..boarding isn't for another three hours. He peered out of the viewport to see that the shuttle hadn't even rolled up to the gate yet, this would be the way to exit onto the tarmac, grab a uniform and slide his way out onto the streets. He made his way towards the door, pulling on the manual lever to cause the door to shoot open.

"Hey! What are you doing?" A voice called out from behind, Caran's peered back to see a group of Imperial Troopers and an Officer who had exited a backstaff room, Kriff. The sound of their rifles raising in the air could be heard, their safety clicking off. Well, I guess this is one way to do things! His teeth gritted as he pushed through the door and flew down the stairs; the sound of a few blaster bolts hitting the door as it closed.

The Imperial officer would sprint towards a comm's unit, calling out through the speakers of the spaceport, "Activate Imperial lockdown protocol, we have a bloody rebel loose on the tarmac, send all units..I want him caught!" The all too familiar sound standard Imperial alarms began to ring out throughout the facility.

The former Imperial would crouch down behind a few containers, pulling out his blaster pistol, his eyes squinting to see a few squads of Imperial troopers running towards the location of the gate. "Well I can't wait around here for much longer," he mumbled to himself as he began to crouch walk behind several of the containers and towards the edge of the wall, hoping that he could possibly dodge the troops and make his way towards a fence or something.
