One bloody nose, and three unconscious brawlers later, Vanar and Chance where victors.

Chanced moaned, holding his bloody nose. Vanar handed him a handkerchief.

"Ow, ow....owowowoowoowow, OW."

Vanar sighed. Pulling his friend down the middle of the fair.

"OW, where are you taking me?"

Vanar ignored him for a couple seconds, before responding.

"To the fish."

<span style="color:#ff0000">"The fish?"

Vanar gestured ahead of them, where table after table of every type of food imaginable waited. Chance's mouth dropped open. The young padawan charged forward.

"Huzzah! food and drink await!"

Laughing Chance grabbed Vanar and made his way torwards the food stands.

Kohia didn't know how long she had been searching, but it felt as if it were a lifetime. Would she ever find the boy in this crowd? She couldn't give up. The young Jedi needed to know why he said what he had said, afterall. Passing the craft stands and moving into an area filled with delicious aromas of various foods, she stopped again and looked around, hoping she could catch a glimpse of the boy again.

With a worried expression written upon her face, she made a 180, trying to peak over the heads of the festival goers. It was then that she spotted Vanar and Chance. Quickly, she made her way over to them, seeming frazzled.

"Chance, Vanar, have you seen a little boy? He's..he's..." she thought for a moment before raising her hand so high off the ground, "He's so high...and has a sash around his head, covering his scarred eyes...he was carrying a stick too. Did either of you see him?"

Chance held a small bowl, within was the Ossus-famous, vanilla cream.

"Um..you sure go for the youngs ones eh?"

Suddenly Vanar stepped forward and elbowed him. Hard.

"What he means is, no. Did he steal something from you?"

Chance groaned, holding his nose, and his side.

"Sfreehs, ya dnt' hav ta frekin elboow meh."

"No," she quickly answered and turned her head to look around her again. "It was something he said..."

She turned back around to face Vanar and finally voiced her concern. "Do either of you get a feeling as if something is off here?"

Kohia wanted to say more, but she also didn't want the two padawans thinking she had lost her mind. She hadn't, had she? Yet, why did the boy point her out? and why was he going on about blue things, or were they people, that hunted in pairs? Was it a warning?

Chance just shrugged.

Vanar studied Kohia for a second. She seemed...nervous, worried. Not things the Liberi was expecting her to feel in a festival.

"Off? Why do you say tha-"

Suddenly a young couple stumbled out of a nearby tent, both were laughing, as they kept walking the girl kissed her lover's cheek. Passing the padawans, Kohia noticed a familiar sash hanging around the girls waist...

Vanar blinked.

"You humans are very...open when it comes to mating."

Chance laughed.

"Something like that. You ok Kohia?"

Kohia didn't bother answering as soon as she saw the sash around the woman's waist. She was on a mission now. Quickly, she made her way to the couple.

"Excuse me," she called after them, hoping they would stop.

"Oh, miss, please wait up for a second," she called again in a polite tone.

If Kohia played her cards right, it would seem as if she was admiring the sash and no more. Still, it would be strange and indeed odd to walk up to a couple of strangers and ask about the boy. No, she needed to approach this with a little more tact.

The woman stopped, looking over her shoulder. She really hoped this was important. Her boyfriend looked just as annoyed, but put on a polite face.

"Yes?"

Vanar and Chance followed, neither really knew what was going on.

Kohia saw from the way the man and woman carried themselves that they were not pleased in the least. Carrying on, anyway, she tried to be as polite and nonchalant as possible.

"I'm so sorry for disturbing you both, but I couldn't help but notice your scarf. It's so lovely. Can you please tell me where you got it? I know it seems so trivial, but I it would be perfect for a friend of mine. She's been terribly sick and such lovely things do brighten her spirits."

Seeing that they might not want to help her, she before they could deny her an answer, "I saw another scarf just like it on a young boy earlier today, yet he slipped away before I could ask him where he got it. I was hoping it could be bought here at the festival. Please, could you help me?"

The woman laughed.

"Sure thing hon' this sash can be found everywhere, in fact I saw it on a stand a lil' ways back, good luck!"

Laughing the girl and her lover ran off.

A big man walked by, eyeing the group, but said nothing. Suddenly a scream, and shouts of "Thief!" filled the Padawans' ears, they turned and found themselves surrounded by a large group of people trying to run down the street, apparently they where going after the big man. Seeing his pursuers, the man started to run. The padawans where pushed and shoved out of the way as the locals gave chase.

"Whew! that was insane!"

Crawling to his feet, Chance offered a hand to Kohia. The crowd was gone.

"H-Hey, where's Vanar?"

Chance turned around, scanning for his friend. There was no sign of the Liberi.

"VANAR! VANAR!!!"

From her position on the ground Kohia could see under the tables in front of the tents. Under one she could see a familiar little boy, wearing a certain sash....a ghastly smile was written across his face as he waved. He held up a small rolled up piece of paper, and dropped it under the table.

Turning he pointed down the street. and thrusting one leg forward, the boy crawled under the tent side. He was gone from view in seconds.

Just a ways back....

Kohia turned her head, glancing back at the stands when she heard the scream. Eyes shifting toward the location where the scream was heard, she saw a large group of people heading their way. Just what was going on here? Before she could turn back around, someone bumped hard into her, knocking her off balance before the mob finished the job. Kohia fell to the ground hard and tried to shuffle herself to the side to avoid being trampled upon. It was during the shuffling that she caught sight of the boy again.

There was something...odd about the boy, that much was certain. She felt uneasy with his presence, almost a sense of foreboding to what he might be bringing. Still, she avoided Chance's hand, knocking it aside as she crawled her way toward the boy. However, he took off before she could even get near.

"Hey! Wait up! I don't want to harm you!" she cried out futily. Sighing, she continued to crawl toward the dropped piece of paper. Picking it up she stuffed it in the pocket and rose to her feet. Glancing in the direction of where the boy had pointed, she struggled with doing what was right.

Should she go after the thief? or should she go after the boy? Just now coming to her senses, she looked around and noticed that Vanar was gone. Chance's words had fallen on deaf ears at the time.

"Wait...where's Vanar?" she asked him as he stared back at her dumbfounded. Kohia looked in the direction the crowd had gone and then back toward where the boy had gone. She didn't think he went after the boy. Could he have? "Come on!" she called as she headed off toward the crowd.

The whole time she ran to catch up with them, the boy and his peculiar behavior seemed to eat away at her mind. Still, she had to find Vanar and stop the thief before she could scratch that itch. The boy could wait. It seemed as if he were playing some sort of game with her...a game she would have to solve.

A lone padawan was watching the festival close to its exit. He is not the type that enjoys festivals, or anything of that scale. But it is always nice to see the different races that he may encounter when going on an important mission.

Heron Sorren's master is currently on an important, highly classified mission, so he was stationed at Ossus to wait. Supposedly, the mission was best done solo.

"Stop! Thief!"

Eyes snap back into the partying crowd, and he could see people getting forced aside (from looking at the tops of their heads), while another approaches. When the thief appeared, Heron quickly stepped into his way.

"Halt!"

The thief tried to push past him, but Heron simply threw out a foot, tripping the robber over. The padawan tackled the person, imprisoning his arms by pressing down on the wrists. His eyes quickly spotted the stolen item, and wrestled it from the man's grasp. A blue sash.

Growling, the thief, suddenly shouted, and twisted, with a quick flick of the wrist, the man was out of the Padawan's grasp. Suddenly the man drew a blaster.

"Look here! Don't move, none of ya'all. In fact, one of you moves, and I blow this little monk to the outer rim!"

The pistol spoke more about the outsider then his clothes ever could. It was nice, too nice, especially for the villagers of this area. The man was an off-worlder.

Heron looks at the barrel of the pistol fearlessly, although the nearby crowd cannot be described the same way. They backed away from the padawan and the would-be thief, afraid to do anything other than watch in fright.

To remedy the situation, the Force's help is in need. Heron made a fist with his right hand, hidden from view by the sleeves of his robes.

'Monk, huh?' The padawan felt somewhat insulted by such a remark, but kept that thought aside. Before the thief could make any further demands, the pistol barrel was crushed like paper, with the added sound of screeching metal. The thief glanced at his barrel, shocked that it was ruined within a moment, and attempted to make his escape. He obviously lost enough with this failure.

As the thief stepped back, the three padawans found themselves staring at quite a scene. Another padawan was staring down the thief they had seen earlier. On the ground was the pistol, it looked all bent. The crowd was staring in horror at the pistol.

Chance moaned.

"Oh my- is he a complete moron! The agreement, that idiot broke the agreement!"

Rushing forward Chance found himself standing inbetween the padawan and the crowd.

Turning Chance hissed.

"You fool, you have no idea what you just did...."

The big man quickly made his escape, pushing people aside, he tore off down the street. Leaving the crowd, sash, and his prized blaster behind.

Chance turned slowly, scanning the crowd. They were staring at the padawans with fear, and something else. It was obvious something was wrong, but then suddenly, a shout and the crowd turned. Some sort of announcement was being made. Chance took the opertunity to drag Kohia and the newcomer into a side-alley.

"Stay quiet for a second, thats the winners being announced, hopefully they will forget about us....."

Kohia looked at Chance like he was crazed.

"What about the thief? We can't just let him get away."

She turned her head to the newcomer padawan, not knowing who he was. "What were you thinking? You could have endangered the lives of the people with such a rash move."

Chance interrupted her.

"Look, the thief is just some off-worlder. We are Jedi. around here, where I grew up, we have devoloped something of a bad name....it look I- you- it seems like that..."

Chance stopped, he was mumbling he was so scared. Running his finger through his bangs, Chance tried to think of what to say. After a few seconds the padawan turned to the other two the young padawan spoke.

"Look it works like this, back when I was a youngling playing on the mountainside, before the Jedi discovered my talent, there was...well an accident involving one of the Jedi and the mayor's daughter. Needless to say relations where tense. Then, when I was first accepted into the Library to begin my training, there was a rash of... killings. Dozens of people just slaughtered like sheep. Rumors flew of a force-user, and there was this Jedi....no, no I won't spread gossip. Now ya see. Well, relations kinda went out the winda' the jedi tried to restore order, but eventually every villager from this village called Northspike went up in arms and hired some off-world mercanaries. The Jedi found themselves cornered. Luckily they managed to resolve the situation peacfully. A treaty was struck, that treaty is why no jedi can carry lightsabers down here. Or why no force powers were used. The people, my people see it as a threat, Now do you see why you cant use your powers?"

Chance stared at the newcomer with the last part.

"Yeah, I see. So if there was a murder down here and you had the chance to capture the criminal you wouldn't do so? because of this treaty?"

She knew she shouldn't get worked up over this. Afterall, it seemed the man had only stolen something, yet what exactly his intentions were and why he was here she still didn't know. It was this she wanted to find out, however her companion didn't see things eye to eye. It seemed there was still much to learn about Ossus and their ways.

Chance swallowed a particularly nasty response, instead he took a deep breath.

This girl was impossible, she just didn't get it. Too much time indoors reading books he supposed. Ah well it couldn't be helped.

"Look, my mistake ok, I'm sorry for bringing you down here. Feel free to head back. I'm gonna go find fish-head. As for you..."

Chance motioned to the newcomer.

"Please, please, please dont brandish a lightsaber or anything crazy ok?"

With that Chance turned and headed out, and within seconds was lost in the crowd.

The two padawans heard the distinct sound of firecrackers going off, and the sounds of laughter, the fair had resumed in full swing.

OOC: LOL...I told you in her profile that she's not particularly good with people. At least I think I did....

Kohia saw him storm away and half considered going after him, half considered. She wasn't sure she would fit in here afterall. Watching him disappear within the crowd, she knew better than to follow him. Besides, she needed to cool her own jets right now.

"Perhaps I should," she muttered half to herself.

She looked back toward the direction the man had last been seen fleeing and guessed he would have been far away now. Afterall, the item was retrieved wasn't it? With a sigh, she turned the other way and looked toward the direction the strange boy had last been seen.

Remembering the piece of paper in her pocket, she pulled it out and tried to see what, if anything, was written upon it.

OOC  Yeah, I just assumed she was that way, you did say she was a bookworm after all, and the only hard-core- I qoute referances on everything from Anne Frank to The Wheel of Time- act similiar.

The note was written in what looked to be perfect hand writing, almost calligraphy, the swirling of the ink, the little dots, it looked as if it was written by a historian. The parchment itself was yellowed with age, and seemed to have been ripped from something larger. In the center was a small paragraph, written in blue ink, around it was a thin border of black ink.
