Jedi Temple, Dantooine

The temple felt as it had always did, there was a familiarity to it, bringing warmth and safety that Maja couldn't find on any other world. She guessed it was the natural beauty of its forests, plains and mountains, it couldn't compare to the other temples. The healing halls on Dantooine were brightly lighten with natural light from the tall, wide windows that over looked the plains, even the Echani could get lost watching the clouds scrape across the mountain peaks in the far distance.

The feline was sedated until Maja was able to get to the Jedi world, she was accompanied by a younger Knight, Adan Caal a greenhorn in medicine. "Horansi, hm..." she said swiping through the Knight's stat charts as she caught up on what had happened to her. She tried to think back at her studies and the feline species and she placed a palm over the cat Knight's chest, opening up to the Force in order to listen, "She's strong, that's good." she said and gestured for the Knight to place his hand where her's sat. "Listen carefully, let me know if she starts to stir." she said waiting until she was satisfied with position, she started to check under the bacta patches where she was burned from the chemicals and redressed her wounds.

"Physical weapons, like this," Maja indicated the chemical burns, "Bacta works better, however, this..." she indicated the wounds from the Sith Lightening, "Always address first, its more dangerous and more consuming about the dark side than any other weapon comparable. The dark sides purpose to take away life and cause pain." she sitting down on the other side of the Adan and rested her palm on the feline's upper chest.

The Echani Jedi closed her eyes and focused, falling into the light of the Force as she let it channel through her limbs and into the Knight. Her palms glowed and her thoughts relaxed, pulling herself in a peaceful meditation, combatting the darkness that fed on Emerald's flesh.

It had been a long way from Belsavis back to Dantooine, not that Emerald had spent much of that time conscious. Entire days had gone by in a feverish blur as her wounds gripped her for all her life could bare. There hadn't been any medical droid on her ship and she had weird memories of a hologram medical droid speaking in Huttese but the words had gotten all twisted up in her memory. Before she'd known it she'd ended up in the temple on Dantooine. She'd been unconscious since before she'd arrived and had yet to stir still. The empty dreams were the only source of peace she'd managed to find from the pain.

Every waking moment was spent worried over Jalen, her adopted son and Jedi initiate, at some point she'd noticed his hand had been blasted with shrapnel and he'd been shot a few times but he had already seen to his injuries elsewhere. Emerald let out a low growl in her sleep as someone overhead touched her chest, the charred flesh had bits of melted fur seared into it and even after the various nurses had washed out the mud from her various wounds much of the chemical burns were well on their way to infection. Ironically, the most minor of her injuries was the blaster shot in her right calf. The severe burns from the sith lightning were by far the worse of it, but with such large areas of her skin being melted or eaten away by the the corrosive chemical burns not even Emerald could explain how she'd managed to drag Jalen back to their transport ship before collapsing.

Even in her dreams of nothingness, the pain in her chest and right shoulder ate at her, it had gotten progressively worse along the trip home but for the first time sith that wicked sith had struck her down Emerald knew some measure of comfort. Something inside her, even from within her hollow dreamscape, the Jedi Knight could sense the comforting presence of Jedi healers. That moment of bliss started to fade as her actual senses started to alert her to all of the horrible pains throughout her body. She didn't jerk or jolt, but she did turn her head to look in the direction of the Miraluka as she growled at him. It wasn't until she opened her eyes that she realized where she was.

At first she attempted to speak, to ask for her son, but her mouth was far too dry, the hole in her left cheek had exposed much of her teeth and gums to the filtered air of the Jedi Healing Halls and the sterilized taste of it was far too thick on her tongue for her liking. Emerald immediately knew she was medicated with something, even in spite of all her body had been through she was able enough to tell that her movements were sluggish and her pain dulled. Resigning herself to silence and refusing to allow herself to panic, Emerald simply watched the two Jedi before her. They were young, human, no, not human, one was Miraluka and the other a pale humanoid, most likely Arkanian or Echani, Emerald wasn't certain.

She choose to fixate on those two Jedi, attempting to calm her racing heart with the Force as they worked, but it didn't work, and sooner or later she started to cry. They were slow coming, she was most likely far too dehydrated for any real amount of tears, but as she closed her eyes the few tears she had began to cool her face. Much of her fur that should have covered her face was gone, as well as most of the fur on her upper body, leaving Emerald feeling cold where her nerve endings weren't damaged enough to be numb, as well as a bit naked. Beyond anything Emerald hoped the two gentle healers next to her would never know the kind of pain she was feeling, but more than that Emerald wanted to heal as quickly as possible so she could begin tracking down the Sith that had done such things to her.

Adan had spent the better part of that morning wandering the halls and pods that made up the Jedi Stronghold on Dantooine. He couldn't help but tread carefully, as he moved through the complex itself. To him, navigating the temple was similar to navigating the corridors of a starship. It wasn't that the space around him was cramped, indeed it was far from it. Tall wooden walls and vaulted ceilings allowed for the movement of people, and the gentle breezes that caressed the plains of the planet. Few Jedi lived there, and that only served the general sense of openness found within the structure. It was, however, that same openness that allowed him to sense the open air beneath him. When one stood on the deck of a ship, it was hard not to take note of the vast distances beneath them. An ocean could stretch for miles before one touched the bottom, and Adan's vision tapered out far before it reached whatever sat at the bottom of the cliffs.

A population center filled with locals sat somewhere far beneath them. Positioned at the bottom of the cliffs themselves, they and the Jedi above them, were graced with a beautiful landscape that likely stretched for miles. Sunsets on Dantooine were almost as beautiful as the sunsets that had once graced Tython, but everything he knew to be true about Dantooine came solely from the mouths of others. If he wanted to truly witness what went on beneath him, and the temple, he would have to take the trip himself. The locals were friendly with the Jedi, and surely made any that visited the center feel welcome and at home.

"Knight Fir has requested your presence in the healing halls." A mechanical voice barked out from the small device Adan had situated inside of his right ear. Adan Caal's stay at the temple was originally meant to be a short one, long enough for him to clear his mind and heal potential injuries from his expidition on Jedha. Though Nak's treatment had been a success, something that surprised the Knight himself, a Vibro-blade to the shoulder was a wound not to be taken lightly. Even though the injury itself had long been closed, the Knight had been instructed to keep it bandaged with several salves underneath to prevent infection.

It was Maja Fir and her presence on Dantooine, however, that had turned Adan's short stay into something more. Her skill in the healing arts was particularly famous, and something that the young man himself had followed for a while. The injured Knight she sought to treat had caught his attention as well, and the opportunity to assist Fir in her work was something that Adan simply could not pass up. Any time he spent with her, in her work, would only help him with his own skill.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Echani was a professional and focused on the patient before her. For that reason, Adan kept his mouth shut as he entered the room, only halting to offer the elder Knight a small smile and a nod in her general direction. Fir had been raised with the Jedi, much like himself, but the half decade she held over him shined through her work in the healing halls. She was talented, but her dress was far from traditional. Unlike Adan's plain tunic and robes, various trinkets and baubles graced her form. While he did have the time to take account of each and every one, his focus drifted sharply toward the individual sprawled out before them.

Her form was obviously feline in nature, and Maja's voice only confirmed what he witnessed. Burns covered her body, and stood out from the patches of fur that still covered her form. She had been damaged, brutally, and the fact that she had survived at all dampened the smile that once graced the young man's features. In the past few weeks, he had been stabbed in one shoulder and dislocated the other. The pain in both instances had been great, but Adan couldn't even begin to comprehend the pain that the injured Knight had felt. "Hmm..." There weren't any right words for the situation, and Adan couldn't help but be reminded of the hair still growing back on the left side of his head. Singed hair and a signed eyebrow had given way to new growth, but even then it was obvious that his burns had been minor in comparison to hers.

Adan's focus enveloped Maja Fir once more as she spoke out to him. Her words guided his hand toward hers, and soon the Knight could feel the full extent of the damage beneath his own skin. Burnt skin and fused fur left what once might have been a soft surface course. The heat beneath his hand was immense, and it was obvious that the Horansi's body raged despite her unconscious state. Adan offered a small nod in response, as he carefully listened to Fir's words. The burns themselves were immense, but Adan's attention was brought to the injuries that had been wrought on her by the darkside of the force. A Sith's power was immense, and their use of the force was almost always destructive, in one way or another.

Immense power roiled from Fir as she fell into her work across from Adan. Maja was well known to attack damage on the body, as well as the lasting effect left in it. Anything the darkside touched could be left with a stain. The fear, pain, and regret that flowed after battle only served to fuel it as it continued its course. Adan's thoughts lingered in that fact for only a few moments, before he eased his mind and fell into his own connection to the force. Both Knight's hands glowed calmly against the damaged flesh of the Jedi beneath them. While Maja focused on repairing the woman's wounds, Adan kept his own energy specifically directed toward sustaining Fir's work. Healing was an exhausting process, for any Jedi, and Adan hoped his own energy would replenish any waning strength the Knight may encounter.

"She's awake." Adan kept his voice calm and collected, as he turned his face toward the general direction of the Horansi's growl. The feline's eyes moved beneath their lids, and caused the thin flesh to pulse and twitch with the motion. Soon after, her eyes opened and gazed out into room, slowly tracing both Knights as they continued their work. Soon they closed, and released several salty tears onto the injured Knight's cheeks. "I know... I know.." There was little that the Knight could say to console the woman in her pain, but he hoped his deep voice kept her focus, at least slightly, from her pain's excruciating tendrils. For a brief moment, Adan's face drifted back toward the direction of Fir and his own intense focus flagged. "Can she be given anything else?" Maja had studied her record carefully, and surely she knew if the Horansi could take any more pain medication.

Maja tended to drift into the stars when she meditated, feeling herself almost floating away as the Force took her place, she could feel everything and yet nothing. She could sense her Knight assistant across from her, his signature in the Force shone brightly as he helped as well as any others who were in the room, but the sick and the injured, their signatures were dull, the dullest and darkest were Emerald's. She heard a small echo, someone trying to get her attention and the Echani felt herself plunge back within herself, opening her eyes slowly as Knight asked if they could give her anything else.

The Echani frowned in thought, feeling Emerald's pain and glanced at the monitor, reading her charts. "We can't give her any pain medicine, but she can have something to ease the anxiety. Too much pain medication can make her heart fail, especially with the extent of her injuries." Maja leaned over Emerald, placing a hand gently on her uninjured shoulder, "Hi Emerald, everything is going to be ok." she said softly, waiting for the medical droid to prepare the medication, "I can't give you anything for pain, because it may harm you further, but you're going to get something to ease your thoughts and then I will begin to heal again." she said, lifting a bacta patch to check on her chemical wound.

"Another group of doctors and healers wish to also address your face this evening too. So once I'm done, they're going to prep you for surgery to clean away dead tissue and replace it with some synflesh to fill the hole."

The medical droid released the medicine into Emerald's IV and Maja watched for a moment, "Ok Emerald," she said sitting down once more and placing her hand over the sith burns, "The Force is with you, you'll get through this..." she said drifting back into her meditative stance.

(OOC - Sorry for the late reply, IRL has been a little hectic as I'm trying to get use to my new schedule at work, I'm not used to working mornings.)

As the young blind man spoke Emerald could feel her heartbeat began to rise, the last thing she wanted to was more drugs to further dull her perceptions of the Force. As long as she had the Force to guide her, no amount of pain would be to much to bear. The pale skinned woman soothed such thoughts though, Emerald hadn't much in the way of understanding just how medicine worked, but having something to help her focus seemed like it would be a good thing. As the tears stopped, Emerald refocused her attention on the blind man, he was just a boy in her eyes, not unlike her own son though slightly older. She knew he wasn't totally blind, the Force was so much more than even she could know but she did know it allowed him to see far more than she ever could.

Even more impressive though, she could sense in him the kindness of his heart, closing her eyes she listened, trying to let the beat of his heart drown out the pain in her body. The sound of his heartbeat helped her find her focus, and through the pain she felt cold, like she was entering a fever dream. Emerald didn;t know if the chills were caused by her body straining to survive or if it was some sort of lingering dark side influence. Either way, she began to shake as her body fought to find warmth, her teeth chattering. Minutes passed, or at least it felt like they did, in actuality it had only been a few dozen seconds after she closed her eyes that the pain in her body increased tenfold. The muscles of her chest and shoulders tensed as muscle spasms ripped their way through her focus and forced the Horansi to let out a roar of pain as she was forced to make an attempt at sitting up.

The previous pain medications had dulled her senses already, and her motor functions were delayed, causing her to experience more pain with ever recoil she made in her vain attempts to quell the screaming pain all through her chest. The claws on each of her hands stuck out involuntarily and she looked towards her healers in terror. Emerald knew next to nothing about healing or it's fancier medical sciences, and she had no idea what was happening to her. It took nearly twenty full seconds of it before she passed out because of the pain, her upper body falling back to the metal table with a loud thud. Despite her lack of screaming, the muscles spasms themselves persisted. The last thought she had before the pain overwhelmed her completely, was how lucky she was to die among her fellow Jedi rather than on some muddy battlefield at the edge of the galaxy. The degree of dehydration and the shear damage done to her body meant she'd be experiencing such spasms for a good long while. She wasn't dead, not yet at least, there was so much more for her to overcome before she could know peace.
