Radamand stood up from his seat, knelt to his Emir friend and to Constantine. He looked to the Emir and spoke in Arabic. "I will send word to you when we will begin our crusade." Then he made his way outside with his advisers to his forces, wives, and his elephant. After some of his men formed a human ladder and Radamand was sitting in the shade on his elephant, his drummers began beating their drums. He and his caravan of soldiers then passed through the streets.

"I shall await patiently friend," Amajenam responded in Arabic. Then shortly after his comrade left he too left the city with his soldiers atop his red Arabian steed.

 

[The Balance]

"I will be leaving as well, all those are welcome to stay in Tripoli on their way home if necessary, until then God Bless us." Raymond said as he got up from the table his golden cross dangling about his neck. Walking out of the palace his rope belt swaying back and forth, he mounted his horse, motioning for his entourage to leave the city. He would have much planning to do when he returned to Tripoli he would have much planning to do.

Mathias remained in his seat, waiting for the others to leave. Even so, the Christian lord nodded good-byes to the others. He fingered the fine silver chain that held a simple Christian cross as he waited.

The King of Jerusalem decided it might be in his favour to try to talk to the Count of Edessa. He remained in his seat, the few Arabic Lords on the other side of the table and he attempted to make subtle eye contact with the other Christian, a look that said I want to talk to you.

Count Mathias noticed the look made by the King of Jerusalem, and nodded slightly in acknowledgment. He waited for the king to begin, mentally scratching out possible reasons for a private conversation.

Radamand while riding on his elephant steed with all of his forces, wives, and advisers began their journey beck to Rum. But, Radamand ordered twenty of his men to stay in Constantinople and dress as civilians.

The King of Jerusalem and Count of Edessa were finally alone. He turned to him and spoke in ahushed, urgent voice, "The muslim states have allied, I am sure of it. They have agreed on something and they want the Christians eradicated. At the moment Jerusalem stands alone as does Edessa and Tripoli. The good count of Tripoli has already decided to remain alone. His County will be destroyed by the muslims as they march on Jerusalem. I offer you an alliance against this threat. Protection in turn for protection; military aid in exchange for military aid. Do not be a fool like the Count of Tripoli or you will be a land-less fool when the muslims assault you, their combined war machine more than enough for us alone. What say you?"

He then motioned to one of his Knights, a Lord, and told him to follow the Count of Edessa to try one last attempt at an alliance ageement, although it seemed to be in vain.
