Karan walked briskly down the street. He laughed maniacally to himself as he went then stopped abruptly as he reached a part of town where he might be overheard. He walked quickly up to the door of a local bar named "The Black Knight's Tavern" and walked in. He saw a rough looking group of Hutts and walked straight towards them. He was preparing to finish up getting the word out that he was looking for Verda. He had already spoken with almost everyone he met that looked like they could be connected. He raised his voice and addressed the group. "If you see Verda you tell him to meet me at the black Knight's tavern tomorrow night. Tell him that I want to hire a fighter, that from here on out I will pay him a great sum and manage his fights for him. Tell him to come ready to box, because I will test him out myself." His voice grew quiet and he leaned in close as if relating a great and dangerous secret "Tell him to leave his weapons outside to keep from arousing suspicion. If he pleases me I will have him show me what he can do with his weapons. But I will not hire a man who cannot fight with his fists and take punches. I will pay him good money, but with me managing his fights and eventually, his merchandise, plus the tournaments and things I have planned, we will make a killing. So, remember boys he is to meet me here prepared to box with his weapons stashed out of sight tomorrow evening at 7pm at this tavern." With that Karan whirled around and left the tavern. That night he cleaned all of his weapons and made sure that everything was in working order. The next day he woke up and took a shower. He fixed his hair to look like a fighting trainer and put on one of their typical outfits consisting of athletic clothing and black cap. When he was done that he put on the typical overcoat of such trainers but underneath he hid his revolvers and his light foil. He went down to the bar in the morning to set everything up he stashed his Katana underneath one of the corner seats in a hole in the wall that was easy to get to if you were sitting on the chair but still well out of sight. He stashed a few throwing stars in the hole and then returned to his hotel room.

When it was three P.M. he began to pack his athletic bag. In it he put his boxing gloves his water bottle, a change of clothes and anything else he thought he might need. He had not yet decided if he would try to kill him on the first meeting or not. In a concealed compartment on the side of his bag he put two throwing stars, his other blaster, a sedative that could be used in food and drink, a gas grenade, and a powerful sedative in a syringe. On the very bottom of his bags he put a pair of boxing gloves which were identical to the others except that they had a certain powder which could knock a man out if inhaled it directly even for a short amount of time. He always had to be careful with these but it was such a powerful tool that he could not pass it up.

He left for the bar at 6:15 pm and arrived at 6:45. He walked briskly toward his booth and selected that seat that had all of his weapons stashed under it. He checked with his hand to make sure that they were there. They were still there. He ordered himself a soda and a water and waited for his man. He hoped that he would arrive soon.

It did not take long for the news to reach Tal Verdas ears. Of course he found most of the rumors to be ridiculous. Why would he leave his weapons? A weapon was a part of a warrior, it was his soul. One did not leave their soul behind. To avoid suspicion was pointless as well. He was an almost 7 foot tall Mandalorian with long black hair and inside full combat armor. He could not avoid suspicion even if he wanted to. Such thoughts were for cowards. A man who wanted to test him as a warrior but without weapons? Seemed like a fool, but Tal Verda would indulge him as far as meeting him.

The Mandalorian checked over himself, his armor was as strong as ever, his carbine was on his leg in its holster, his grenades in their pouch, and his axe on his back. He was ready to meet this warrior manager. If the man could arrange more fights for him that were worthy of his honor, then the man might find himself with a deal.

It did not take him long to find this.. place. He would not give it the title of a Tavern as it was a pathetic excuse of a place even for Nal Hutta standards. He walked towards the door only to be stopped by a small man. The man himself was almost 5'11, but anyone smaller than Verda was small. "Sir, We do not allow weapons in here." The small man said nervously.

"You are in my way." the Mandalorian said once, a simple statement of observation that the man was blocking his way into the.. place. "Sir.. I must.." Before he could finish his sentence the Mandalorian struck him in the face with a powerful backhand. He felt something break in the mans face, but it was no matter. The man was a weakling, and the weak do not dare stand in the path of the strong. The small man stumbled back holding his left cheek with his hands as tears of pain rolled down his face only concreting his weakness. Tal Verda feared no local law enforcements. He was working for the Hutts at the moment, so he had nothing to fear. They would not bother with someone so weak as this man.

He pushed open the doors and finally entered the scum infested place, his metal boots striking the ground and sending an echo through the small tavern. He stood at the center staring at the people inside waiting for this.. man to show himself.

Karan sat in the corner booth and watched this exchange between the man and the huge Mandolorian. He smiled when he saw him backhand the man, that meant that if anything happened the people here would be very willing to overlook whatever Karan would do to the Mandolorian. He noted with some aggravation that the man came to him with weapons still on and still wearing his armor. He walked up to him and spoke. "Hi, my name is Kernan" he lied. "I am manager and trainer as I am sure you can tell from my gear and outfit. I see that you still have your weapons and gear on. I would very much like for you to demonstrate to me your prowess in hand to hand fighting before we move on. Most of the high paying fights these days are hand to hand. Boxing is all the rage now and well, martial arts are always popular. However, if you would like we may postpone that part of my testing...for now. I saw that you punched the man at the door in the face. We will have to work on that, we want everyone to love you and buy your stuff, your shirts hats etc. that I will be making soon, not hate you for beating up innocent people. At any rate, I see that you have a number of weapons there. If you don't mind I will have a look at them. I will then advise you on what you should carry assuming that I want to take you on. I must say, thus far I am very impressed; you are very large and feisty. If you prove yourself in hand to hand combat you will have a job. I will at some point, of course, need to see how good you are with those weapons, but for now I would like to see you fight hand to hand and get a closer look at these weapons. So, if you will do me the favor then take off your armor and your weapons and sit them by my table, then put on this pair of boxing gloves." With that John held a pair of gloves out to him. "After you have shown me you can fight hand to hand I must see how strong you are. I will have you swing that axe several times and lift some weights." He waited to see what Tal Verda would do.

"I refuse" The large Mandalorian said simply. The man talked to much for Tal Verda's liking. "I fight for honor, not for credits. I have no desire to be some item you flaunt around to earn credits." The Mandalorian elaborated on. The idea of fighting so this this man can sell merchandise to the weak was an insult to the Mandalorian. Why would he wish to fight in hand to hand combat? A weapon was a warriors soul, without it he would be nothing more than a savage beating down another savage. Even worse this man wished for him to wear some sort of padded glove.. This was not the way of a Mandalorian Warrior.

He than asked to see his weaponry! To hold it in his disgusting and vile hands! That was yet another insult to his Honor. A weak man like this would not be permitted to lay his credit grubbing hands on his weapons. The Mandalorians hands clenched in fury at this small men who babbled away about proving himself. This man came and found him not the other way around. There was one being in the universe he had to prove himself to and that was Mandalore.

"Your offer does not interest me." He finished. This man was not worth his time. Tal Verda fought in death matches, not in these savage hand to hand matches he was referring to. He fought for honor, not credits. He was a Mandalorian Warrior, a Sergeant in Mandalore's army. Not some toy to be flaunted before the weak as they watched their betters do combat.

Karan Knew that he had to act fast before the Mandolorian left. With his right hand he pulled out a spray bottle that appeared to contain water. He aimed it straight at the Mandolorian's face and began to spray as fast as he could. The bottle contained liquid Chloroform which has a very low boiling point and will easily evaporate into the air. Anyone who inhaled the chloroform fumes would be knocked out. If it got onto Verda's face mask or chest he would be almost certain to inhale it. He pulled out his lightfoil and held it at the ready in case his chloroform cloud failed. He realized he had to do something about the few people in the bar. "Everyone out now! This is a dangerous criminal and he is not going down easy. I am having to use dangerous chemicals and I don't want to hurt you. Quickly exit and don't inhale until your out." He was only a step or two away from Verda and since he was wearing heavy armor he was confident that this plan would work. He continued to spray Chloroform at him and activated his lightfoil just in case he needed it.
