I hope you are joking, because I think that everyone is aging 20 years with no exception.

But it's a perfectly legitimate means of not aging. It's been discovered for more than a century on this planet and certainly would have been known for countless millennia for the star wars world. However, since they have space travel, they have access to sources of energy large enough to propel someone to near light speed. Plus, it would only be one character and it might make the character more interesting as he would have to navigate through a vastly changed world.

Nobody cares.

Your character will age, just like everybody else's.

Guys, cailst is probably trolling. Saying "you're not funny" is giving him what he wants.

B'sides which, there are all kinds of energy fields and whatnot that force the proper progression of time while travelling at and past lightspeed.

Sometimes, the hyperdrive malfunctioned while in operation. When this occurred, many things could happen, however most consequences are unknown and usually fatal. Still, some malfunctions did not have such grim conclusions. Faulty relativistic shielding could expose passengers to the altered space-time continuum, causing a journey which seemed a few hours to actually take centuries in the real world. Bosbit Matarcher was known to have experienced this phenomenon. Some hyperdrives have also rattled out of their casings, destroying the engines (if not the entire ship).

Now Cailst run with it!

Honestly, I don't know why some people want to keep their characters young and pretty forever. Unless your character is extremely old, you should not even worry about being borderline "Old". Two of my favorite characters are going to be almost 60, yet I am not complaining because got ideas to keep them active.

This is also a good chance to make a new character for the Hutt Empire or the new mysterious Dark Jeedai.

Actually, I was being honest about that like I am with most things. I'm simply trying to use a fairly well known fact to add a little spice to a character who is not that interesting.

Time dilation is a well established fact here on Earth and with the power to do it in a galactic civilization, I see little legitimate reason why it shouldn't be allowed. While it could be overused, I don't think anyone would really do that. Perhaps I could have such a character appear in the story several months later and he would have aged less over those years based on how fast he was going. And because of his time spent alone as well as his absence from the rest of the universe, it could provide the opportunity to try to find out what's happening.

I think you're spending too much time worrying about how to make your characters unkillable and not enough time worrying about how to make them interesting.

They're perfectly killable as they are now. And when I update my current characters, I'm going re-balance them and add more weaknesses where needed. All my chars, new and old, will have specific weaknesses that can be used against them.

Point taken in the interesting department, tho. Aside from Hakim, Kayin, and possibly Dax Corso [aka The Runner], my characters were all pretty generic. xP
Hopefully they will be more unique this time 'round.

BTW, gr1m, check your inbox, plz. I PM'd you. =)
[edit- PM is about a faction-related question I had for my smuggling faction.]

One character I have planned for now.

Mister Kasleev
Droid Master

Zabrak1.jpg

A genius in machinery, the Zabrak mechanist who is responsible for many droid model creations, including the General Purpose droid line, specifically the 103 unit. He seeks to take droids to the next level, and with the technological advancement of late, Mister Kasleev can finally make his droids the way they were meant to be.

Is it just me or does he look like a midget?

It's Dwarfism, you intolerant bastards. :CStern:

Not that I am saying he is... I already made a Khil born with one eye, no need to make a Zabrak with Dwarfism.

For this reason alone it would not be worth the effort of sending a character through time. The character would've lost twenty years of experience he/she would of had otherwise. Not only that but he would enter into another universe in a state of war without any clue as to where, what and who would be safe. This could hardly be planned so the event would be disastrous for the character with very little chance of surviving and adapting to his new present. While good for a story it's altogether better for the character to age naturally.
