The planet Tatooine sat in the Outer Rim, a lonely stretch of the galaxy that in the days of old, even the Republic didn't bother to deal with. Twin yellow suns shone on the desert planet, and the days were blazing hot and the nights were freezing cold.

The midday glare was painful to human eyes, and Fiach squinted as she walked. She had just dropped off some supplies – an aid package from the Order and decided to satisfy her thirst for knowledge. The planet may not appear very much, but if history was riches, it would be arguably the most valuable in the galaxy.

So, she headed over to Chalmun’s Cantina. Not that it was called that any more and it was certainly no longer owned by Chalmun. Even Wookiees didn’t live this long.

Even at this midday hour, it was busy. Fiach could hear the jizz band tootling away as she approached the entrance. The entrance graced by famous Jedi of the past.

Inside, it was dim, and comparatively cool. Fiach took a deep breath and then spluttered, scenting intoxicants from a dozen worlds. She walked down the steps, nodding at the Rodian that was clearly the bartender.

She found an empty booth and waited for the droid waiter to come across and take her order. “A little blue milk if you have it, please.” She couldn’t help herself.

[Mara Kensei]

Mara strode through the streets of Mos Eisley, The lower half of her face and neck were covered by the green and blue sash that was usually worn around her waist. The hot, dry climate of the desert planet was not ideal for members of her species, so she had to get out of it as soon as she could. The Wrean made her way through the streets, her bright blue coat standing out against the normally muted colors of the city around her. When she finally spotted the Cantina that she was looking for, Mara entered as she removed the the tinted goggles and let them hang around her neck.

Unwrapping her sash and leaving it around her neck like a scarf, the Matukai nodded to the Rodian bartender as she approached the bar, ordering a glass of Arkanian Rum. As she waited for her drink, Mara scanned the rest of the cantina, getting a feel for all of the patrons in the pub. Near the end of her scan, her eyes land on an oddly familiar face. Grabbing the glass of rum, Mara made her way over to the jedi in the booth, raising her glass in greeting, "Fancy seeing you here, Fiach."

Jedi were invariably afforded a slight benefit when meeting or coming across fellow Force-sensitives – as their aura was more distinct and individual than how someone looked. So, Fiach felt the subtle ripple in the Force as Mara entered the cantina and looked up to see the Wrean. As uncomfortable as the climate was for Fiach, she knew it would be almost unbearable for Mara – not just the heat but the arid conditions especially.

Unlike Fiach, who wore Jedi robes in shades of beige and brown, Mara wore a shade of blue that was eye-catching, especially here. And as her fellow Jedi walked over, Fiach raised her own glass – containing water – and gave Mara a nod.

“I was here, as in the planet, on business – but my decision to visit the cantina was simply one of nostalgia. If the rumours are to be believed, it was here where Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker met Han Solo and Chewbacca for the first time. Not this booth – although it could be for all I know – but this cantina. So, what brings you here? Surely we can’t both be sight-seeing?”

Mara nodded in return, and took a seat, setting her drink down and raising an eyebrow at the history lesson, "Was it now? That's certainly interesting. I came in here mostly for relief from the outside, though the drinks aren't too bad."

Mara took the opportunity of being out of the arid climate to loosed the scarf around her neck, only slightly revealing the thin lines of her gills as she pulled out more moisturizing gel from her bag, "You mind if I apply this real quick? I don't want to gross you out or anything."

Fiach smiled. “I am somewhat used to the climate – I was raised on Klatooine. Not that I’m saying it’s great, or even good, just that I’m familiar with the heat. And as for that,” she pointed at the gel, “I really don’t mind at all.” She wanted to say that she’d seen enough gruesome things in this galaxy to be able to largely ignore what Mara was about to do, but her recent observations told her that this might be taken as rudeness by some.

“So, if not sightseeing, what brings you to Tattooine?” She took another sip of water. It was not that she disapproved of alcohol, but rather she had never imbibed any – and therefore did not have the taste for it.

"Oh good, I could feel them drying out as I walked in." Mara smiled as she unscrewed the cap to the container and flexed the muscles around her gills, the lines widened and looked a lot like a fish out of water trying to breathe. Mara began applying the gel and then re-sealed the gills, but kept the scarf loose around her neck as she let the gel set.

"Oh, well the whole Matukai business doesn't really pay too well, so I pick up some shipment jobs every once in a while to pay the bills. This job required me to drop off the cargo here. Stopping here was to just take the edge off after a very annoying pay negotiation."

It took a few moments for Fiach to comprehend what was said. She was something of a scholar and it took her a short while to comprehend what was said and put it into context.

“Matukai, did you say Matukai? Do they really exist? I mean, I know that most legends have some basis in fact, but are they just a clan of martial artists, or do they really study the Force? I’ve read bits and pieces about them, mainly when I was researching about meditation.”

Her eyes lit up, she wasn’t just someone who spent a bit of time in the library, she was a real history geek.

The current timeline is Canon only. That does not mean Legend references cannot exist, but they would be considered that – just Legends. They become hard and fast if you consider characters – so Luke never married in Canon, so none of his children etc. existed
