Ekaj stepped of the freighter and breathed the cool and fresh air of world unpolluted by industry. A world poor in credits but made up for it in some thing else, some thing deeper. Of course credits is what attract help and danger. So when the Elder of a one of many villages got kidnapped they had the two fold problem of no way the pay the ransom and no way to hire some one to safe them. Of course there is the Jedi and as a Consular Ekaj job was to help the Galaxy heal from all wounds new and old.

The village was not far from where they had landed and all ready Ekaj could see the damage from when the attack took place. Though the people had begun the repairs and rebuilding from what the Jedi had learned there was a far deeper wound. "While we should not keep them waiting"

Walking to wards the village Ekaj could see some of the men rush out armed with hunting rifles and spears and what could only be a actual bow and arrow. Clearly they where on edge.

Since the end of the war very recently; the Jedi had been very cautious. At least the smart ones had been. It was hard for the Jedi who had been sworn to protect the innocent; but at the moment the great majority of the innocent were rather opposed to the Jedi and their help. He couldn't say he blamed them really. This war that the Jedi had been a part of with their Exiled brethren had gone on for far too long, had destroyed far too many lives, brought too many innocent people into the middle of it, and accomplished very little besides twiddling the numbers of each side down to barely anything. The Jedi Order was a fraction; a shadow, of what it had once stood for. And they were losing more every day with foolish Jedi who had been born only to see war. They didn't know what a Jedi was supposed to even be like without a fight raging in the galaxy. Blazes, the Galaxy itself didn't know what a Jedi was supposed to be... only seen as warriors who had been the only side in a bloody conflict that had spanned a century.

Maybe it was because of Kybo's heritage; being born two to Jedi Knights who had left the order because of his conception and had told him of a different time, raised him differently than the Jedi did most of their other younglings. Or maybe it was because of his rare race; Miraluka who had no eyes but saw the world and the force in a different light. Whatever it was, Kybo Rekon saw the conflict in a way few other Jedi had seen it. He had seen the Jedi, the way they had once been meant to be; something he believed a lot of Jedi had lost sight of. And because of that, Kybo felt the need to do everything he could to live up to the legend of a Jedi Knight. He probably wasn't doing the best job in the galaxy; but he was doing his best. He had hidden himself away on Dantooine, watching over the settlements on that world and helping those that were in need. Whether it was beast attacks or gang violence. Kybo did his absolute best to protect the innocent; just like a real Jedi should. He had to keep quiet; yes. Jedi needed to be careful these days. Bounties were going out against anyone who so much as called themselves a Jedi. It infuriated Kybo, but he wouldn't let it be a motivation for him. The best way to change the public's mind was to show them that the Jedi were not what they had become. That the Jedi meant something else entirely. A symbol of hope, to those who needed light and help.

Slowly; he felt like he was accomplishing this goal. He had kept on the down low, keeping his activities quiet. Eliminating fearsome criminals to be apprehended appropriately. Helping the locals. Letting the force's calling guide him to where he needed to be and what he needed to do. He had become something of a vigil anti, but in so doing he had become a local hero of sorts. A symbol; just like he was meant to be. It wasn't going unnoticed either. After helping a farmer with some local trouble; Kybo had been invited into the man's home for a meal. Not wanting to be rude, Kybo had accepted the offer. The man had also tried to give Kybo his daughter as wife, but Kybo had politely declined... multiple times...

This visit paid off though, because before the evening was over the old man had begun making mention of trouble on Lothal; a planet that was not unlike Dantooine itself. Apparently an elder of one of the small settlements on Lothal had been missing. Normally Kybo would not have gone out of his way for something like this; he had felt a strong connection to Dantooine and the need to stay there where he was. But in this instance he felt as though he was supposed to leave Dantooine to travel to Lothal and follow the path wherever it lead him. As soon as Kybo could excuse himself from the dinner then; he was returning to his own shack on the edge of the settlement; uncovering his starfighter from the camouflage canopy it was hidden under. The way he understood it there wasn't a lot of time to loose, and Lothal wasn't very far from Dantooine either, so he could be there in no time; certainly much quicker than the Jedi Order itself could assemble any kind of aid. If something so trivial as a missing person even registered on their radar anymore.

Not wanting to rush into things; Kybo was sure to meditate on the situation he was about to walk into; making sure to consider all the facets and variables. On the up side; this was proving Kybo was right. The Jedi were still keepers of the peace, protectors of the innocent. Hope. Light. And in accomplishing this mission, it would only speak out for the entirety of the Jedi order. They were still here. They were still a spark of light. And they were still helping those who would have their help. On the down side, if he royally screwed this up... it could have the exact opposite effect. And worse, he didn't know the details yet of what he was entering into. This could go very wrong, very quickly. But he had to try his best.

Without delay then, he was on his way to Lothal.

The trip was a short and uneventful one, having little to do in the cramped cockpit of his starfighter except to mediate on what was to come; but he was landing on Lothal at the particular settlement in no time at all, and exiting the ship; heading to the first lead he had. That is until he noticed a skirmish not far from where his own ship had been landed; as he observed some of the locals approaching a young man who had also landed not far from here. And they were ready for a conflict.

"Excuse me!" Kybo called out as he approached the scene. "Excuse me? Yes... Hello there." He said; when finally they had turned their attention to him instead of the boy. Kybo couldn't physically see the boy, but he could tell that he radiated with the force... the light side. Maybe the Jedi weren't ignoring this plight after all. It was only a boy where a Jedi should have been sent in his place. But maybe that is why Kybo was here now. To help the boy.

Kybo smiled innocently at the villagers as he pointed to the eye plate that was in the place of his eyes. "I... seem to have wandered off too far. Could... someone be so kind as to point me in the direction of my son? He's a young man..." He said as if implying the boy who had landed here was his own child all while playing the blind card; which was by no means a lie. This of course, unsettled the villagers; but it also disarmed them in a way. They were now much more willing to have conversation... he just hoped the young man would play along...
