His answer left her feeling a variety of things. It was good he took good care of it and it was even better that he did most of his own work, inspecting the engine showed he had not done anything horribly wrong. But the replacement parts got her. Of course with a ship as custom as this he needed custom parts, but just buying a new part simply because the other one is acting up? That irked her, she personally could not afford to have a part custom fitted for the Wind's engines not that she would trust anyone but herself to make it anyway. That frugleness is probably the biggest gap between the two of the, he had money while she was still building her fortune. bottom line, at least he cared enough to not to skimp out, at least that was something.

"Well I'm just glad you take care of this old girl." She said patting the nearest deck-head. While most of the ship was new and custom it had seen most of the galaxy by now and had most likely been in a lot of sticky situations. This ship had an old soul and needed someone to love it, just like the Wind. "And good on you for not letting some unknown grease monkey, say someone like myself, have at her. Who knows what they'd do to her."

Jester understood what she meant,or at least he thought he did. Maybe she was poking fun at him,or maybe she really respected that he didn't let other people touch his ship. It could be a roundabout way to kill someone, maybe a fuel valve is loose and the hyperdrive gets too hot... stranger things have happened.

"Well thanks. II'm not a mechanic by trade, but I know my way around a star ship. I really could never trust anyone else to work on her, unless it's a trusted associate. Never know what someone might do to your engine if they're on the other guys payroll." Damn straight. If ther's one thing Jester had learned in his young life, it was that you can never trust anyone. Ever. You can trust yourself and that's it. Trusting anyone else? Risky, stupid.

"Especially if they are on the other guy's payroll." she smiled. "Bad things happen that way, but then again bad things happen sometimes without any reason at all. Bad things happen to good people, weather they deserve it or not." Her smile began to fade around the edges as she thought about her childhood on Nar Shaddaa, her mother and her betrayal, and her first kill of a,seemingly, well intentioned young man. Bad things happened to everyone all the time, all anyone could do was to prepare for it and run damage control when the waste product hit the rotary impeller. That was life weather she liked it or not, and she was not going to complain.

Her attention snapped back to Jester, the man seemed to be deep in his own thoughts at the moment as well. She decided that nothing more needed to be said on the matter. She bent down and took one last look at the engine before swinging the panel back into place and locking it. As interesting as it was, ti was probably appropriate to move on.
