Karys had found himself pulled from the Imperial front and to a different sector of space, the Corporate sector. Here he had begun to test himself in the underbellies of countless worlds, moons, and asteroid settlements. He’d thrown himself into illicit arenas night after night in an attempt to learn from his opponents.
All he found was disappointment.
None could stand against his massive frame and bulk. He’d break legs and arms, crack ribs, and break faces for three nights in an arena before moving on. He couldn’t allow rumors of a red titan crushing all who faced him in these illegal pits to spread too far, it would attract unwanted attention.
Unfortunately, in the underbelly of some industrial sector on a moon no one really cared for, the rumor spread like wildfire. By his second night, bets were rolling in and fight organizers were pushing him to fight animals instead of beings. That wasn’t why he’d come and he was beginning to realize it was time to leave. That was until an organizer came to him with an arrangement he couldn’t refuse.
“There’s a Matukai warrior who’s lookin for a fight. Real tough lookin tTefling. We’ll throw the two of ya ina ring and see what’s really what. Ya in?” The sleazy Dug asked.
Karys thought about the challenge for a moment. A Matukai all the way out here? How could he refuse this opportunity at a real test.
“I accept.” Karys replied.
He would go to the ring in only a pair of gym shorts. Barefooted and unarmed. He’d fight this tiefling on equal grounds, it was the only way to get a real test of his abilities and how far he’d come. When his opponent arrived, Karys would give them a nod of respect before bringing his fists up.
To the Matukai, it would be obvious that Karys was untrained. His form was sloppy and he’d likely used his weight, reach, and raw strength to carry fights. That wouldn’t work here.
