Than why havn't you invaded another country for us hmmmmm? psssst. I'm being satirical. You're freaking me out by taking me seriously.

... You're not still talking to me, are you?

And anyway, I don't think America should just pull out all military everywhere all at once. That would be irresponsible. But I don't think one country who's been itching to attack another country would suddenly do just that if we no longer had bases there. Unless the attacking country is really stupid, they will realize that their actions will have consequences with the US and other countries all over the world economically, etc.

That's exactly how the U.S.A got out of the great depression. By investing massively and getting in debt.

Which is why the end of WW2 really marked the beginning of American consumerism. After WW2, the U.S middle class grew exponentially, and so did the demand for goods.

Not only did it bring great wealth, but many technological advances as well.

Our national debt was greatly reduced as the buying of bonds increased I can have charts if you wish to see. (Not near enough Perot on these boards I say)

True but the same argument could be made for during the Reagan administration.

It also brought the most grotesque weapon against Humankind the world has ever seen. Private profit and self interest is my main argument against Capitalism. Other than that I like the ideas of Capitalism.

I'd make more a passionate argument if I was in that type of mood tonight (feelin' frisky) but I'll get to others responses as well later on.
