The Mission and the Two Jedi

Location: Local Cantina on Lothal
Time: 14:00

View attachment 2449
Rae was sitting in the Cantina with nothing better to do at the moment. Just then her comm beeped. She walked somewhere private and answered the comm that was now in her hand. "Rae speaking." she said answering as the beeping finally stopped. After she responded, a voice through the comm debriefed her on a mission. "We just got notice that there have been some interesting finds on a nearby system. We will be pairing you up with a young man who goes by the name Cassus. He is on his way now and should be there shortly. Good luck, and may the force be with you." The voice said on the other end of the comm. The voice was better known as a master withing one of the leftover hidden Jedi Temples.

After he would finish, Rae nodded even though he couldn't see her as she responded. "Alright. If you still have contact with him, could you tell him to meet me at the cantina?" she had asked. The master acknowledged that he could and she was relieved that she wouldn't have to run around to try to find him. "Cassus will have more information for you when he arrives to your destination." The voice added on. "Alright." she responded as the voice gave her a farewell and she put her comm away.

Rae' black/brown hair flowed in the breeze and her eyes sparkle as the sunlight hit her eyes as the young girl walked back into the cantina. Whoever this Cassus was, she was happy to meet him and she would wait in the cantina until he got there. She trusted the bartender as a very close friend as she had known him for a few years since she was at least 16. He knew she was a Jedi and he would protect her at all costs.

"Cassus," The voice of the Jedi rang through the corridors of the temple. "We have a mission for you."

The words still rang through his mind as he approached the town. Taking a deep breath, Cassus pulled his brown robes up around his neck, shading his eyes and face with his hood, and tugging a little on his thick brown robes as he crossed into the town. The Jedi who had assigned him this mission had contacted him and told him to go to the cantina in town, because that's where his partner would be. All he knew was that the woman was a young girl who was younger than him, a Padawan. The briefing he had been received had been ironically brief, but he figured it would be enough for them to get started on their mission together. Scanning the area for the cantina, it took the young Jedi Knight a little while to find where he was going exactly. He hadn't been in this town enough before hand to know where everything was located, especially not the cantina. Thankfully, with some local help and a little bit of intuition, and of course the aid of the Force, Cassus managed to find the building.

Walking inside, Cassus had to lower his hood and give his eyes a moment to adjust to the dim lighting of the room; it wasn't nearly so bright as it was outside in the daylight of Lothal's afternoon sun. Thankfully, his eyes adjusted quickly so he didn't stand there looking too long looking like a fool. Running a hand through his short brown hair, Cassus took in the scene before him, seeing the patrons sitting around at the tables and at the bar. One thing was for certain, the young girl sitting out amongst the crowd definitely drew Cassus' attention. Whether or not it was because she was a young woman sitting in this den, or the fact she was incredibly beautiful young lady, or even another reason he couldn't quite explain.

Moving across the cantina to where this young Padawan was waiting for him, he took a seat next to her. Scanning her rather pretty face for a few moments he spoke, "I'm Cassus. I take it we're supposed to be working together today?" He extended his hand out to her. "Whom do I get the pleasure of serving with today?" The young Jedi Knight asked as he waited for her to give him a response. "So, you ready to hear about our mission?" Looking around, "You have a place we can talk that's a bit more quiet?"

Rae was sitting at the bar when she sensed someone force sensitive coming in. When she looked to her side, she noticed that a handsome young man had sat down next to her as he gave an introduction. She smiled accepting his hand as she introduced herself. "Yes we are." she had responded to his first question. "My name is Rae Arwen Bell. It's a pleasure to meet you." she said introducing herself. When he asked if she had a place that they could talk in that was more quiet, she nodded, putting some credits on the top of the bar as the bartender came around.

"Yeah, I picked up an abandoned place just down the road from here." she said. Rae didn't know what it was with this man, but he was one of the most handsome yet. She pulled her dark hair over her left shoulder giving him a smile as she then led him out to her place.

It would only be a few minute until they arrived at the abandoned place she lived in. The house was still in good shape, making you think that it was abandoned about three weeks before. Once they got there, she opened the door allowing him in first. "This is the most quiet place I could think of without any nosy people and pirates." she said with a small laugh.

Feeling the skin of her palm as she took his hand and shook it, Cassus could tell that though her hands were fairly smooth and feminine, something he enjoyed, they also had a reasonable amount of roughness from use. Cassus liked the feeling, smooth and rough; it told him that Rae had used her hands enough that she wasn't some soft princess, she could no doubt handle himself (or at least that's what he hoped). Smiling at the young Padawan, he nodded at her, "It's a pleasure to meet you, too, Rae. Hopefully, it's a pleasure to work with you as well." The Jedi Knight had a feeling she would be. As Rae explained she had an abandoned place not too far from their current location he winced. He would have preferred she hadn't said that much in case someone was listening. But he didn't say anything, he figured that no one would be listening to two strangers in a backwater bar on Lothal. Giving Rae a smile, he nodded, noticing her play with her brown hair and the smile she flashed his way. "Lead the way then."

Following Rae out of the cantina, Cassus wondered where exactly she was leading him. It didn't take too long for them to reach her hold up, and all the while Cassus kept his eyes open for anyone following them. Thankfully, he didn't spot anyone, so by the time they reached her place, he was ready to enter. For an abandoned place it still looked like it was in good condition, so he figured it couldn't have been abandoned for very long. Looking to her as they entered, Cassus shared a small laugh with her, "Well, this will do nicely. I take it you spend a lot of time around here if you were able to score a catch like this!"

Moving for a nearby seat, Cassus rested his leg and patted an adjacent seat for Rae to join him. Once she was settled and he felt comfortable that they were safe he spoke, "Alright, so before we begin, do you wanna take a guess at what we'll be doing today?"

When she felt her hand in his, his hands had a strong but gentle feel to them. She liked strong men. At this point she had a feeling the would get along well as they pretty much already were. Rae was one who could definitely carry her own weight and she was capable of taking care of herself. She just wondered how this mission would go with both of them the way they looked at each other. "I think we'll have a good time." she said after he responded saying that he'd hope it'd be a pleasure working with her. She hadn't exactly expected herself to say she picked up an abandoned place so loudly. When she realized she had been so loud, she had sunken into her seat a little.

They had both been looking for followers following them to her place. She just wasn't looking around, but she was sensing with the force. Luckily, there was no one as she led Cassus into her little.. no, big house. When he made mention about the place, she smirked a little, following him in. "Well, I had been watching it for a few months now, and I settled here about two months ago. I was able to find enough stuff to clean it up a bit, but it's still a little dusty." she said as she wiped a finger of dust from a nearby table. She looked at her finger, finishing the last sentence, before brushing it away, smiling again and sitting down where Cassus patted for her to sit. She had then responded to his comment that said that she must had spent alot of time to pick up a place like this one. "Well, I kinda never left Lothal. I've made my way out a few times, but sometimes never succeeded. The Empire likes putting scars on my skin." she responded with a small smile.

As they sat down, she thought about what he had just asked. "Hmm... we're going on a mission to search an old Jedi Temple that was abandoned??" she asked with interest and a tiny bit of sarcasticness.

Cassus was rather surprised to see how big the abandoned was. Why such a gorgeous looking home would go unoccupied or abandoned was beyond him. Listening to the young girl tell him how she had watched the abandoned placed and finally moved into it. "You're squatting? I didn't realize a Jedi needed to squat in such nice places." His tone sounded serious, but in truth the Knight was partially teasing the young girl. Humming slightly to himself, Cassus looked around a bit more while Rae tested the dust on a table with her finger. Watching her for a moment he made his way to the chair. Once she joined him he listened to what this young Padawan had to say, about how she mostly stayed on Lothal for most of her life. Humming thoughtfully to himself for a few more moments, Cassus nodded slightly. "How long have you been in the Jedi? I can't imagine too long if the Jedi haven't gotten you off of Lothal and into the field." He gave a small smile, "Maybe we can change that now, though, if we're to work together. Still, I can see the attraction of staying here. This place isn't too bad. Maybe the Jedi could buy it and use it as an outpost or safe house in town..."

It was a simple musing, but Cassus figured there might be some worth, some merit to the idea. Letting out a slight chuckle at Rae's guess of what they'd be doing, the Knight shrugged. "Sadly I don't think so. We've actually been given a mission to intercept some smugglers... they've been... rumored to be smuggling Kyber Crystals to the Sith, for what we don't know, but we are to stop them and see if they know what they're being used for."

The place was one she had watched since she was young. Rae spied on the house since she was at leas eight and then took place in it once it was available. His question made her think about her family, but she pushed away the feeling and focused on the time now instead on the past. "Yeah, they didn't have enough room when I first arrived, so I was able to pick this house up and take care of it." she responded. She had made her response also a little bit light hearted to match his attitude. She realized that he had gotten to be more interested in her when he asked more questions. Rae liked the attention. She didn't get it very often except for when she went to the bar or the Jedi Temple. She smiled hearing his question and she adjusted herself thinking hard for a second, biting her lip. "Its been almost a year. Although, I found that I was very force sensitive when I was young, so I did a little self training before coming into the Jedi Order. So no, it hasn't been that long." she saw his smile and she gave one back to him. "I agree. It would be nice to have a little bit of change. But that's also a great idea. I could hand this place over to the Jedi and see if they would like to use it as a safe house like you suggested." Her smile grew wider as she got lost in thought.

Rae giggled slightly when he had heard of her thoughts. She listened carefully as he explained the mission and her eyes narrowed playfully as a smirk grew on her lips. "Well, sounds fun enough to me. Danger, adventure, perfect." she said thinking about why the sith would need more Kaiburr crystals. Then it got her. "Wait a minute. Maybe they're training others to become sith. And they needed more crystals to be able to train them. So they stole the crystals..." she explained with her eyes in deep thought.

"Ah, I see... intriguing. And rather surprising if I'm to be honest. And-" His voice trailed off as he thought he detected a faint surface emotion through the Force from Rae. Cassus paused, tilting his head slightly to the side to lool at the girl in front of him. Was that sorrow? Grief? Regret? Melancholy? He wasn't sure. It came and was pushed away so fast that the Knight barely had time to notice it. Forcing a smile, he could see that she was trying to reflect his own attitude, and he could understand that to an extent. She seemed to enjoy the attention, that he could understand a bit more. She was probably unused to his friendly attitude and curious attention, and it probably made her feel special. Not to say that she wasn't of course. Smiling, he continued, "And I'm frankly quite surprised that they would not make room for a young Padawan like yourself. It seems very odd to me is all. I'll need to have a talk with the Jedi Knights who run operations here..."

When she continued on he listened to her, continuing to give her attention and respect. He found it interesting that she hadn't been a Jedi for very long, yet had known that she was strong with the Force since she was a little. Seeing how wide her smile got as she lost herself in the notion of turning her home into a Jedi safe house caused Cassus to smile for a moment before forcing his face to return to a more serious demeanor, "Well, I'll talk to some people then. The people who manage Lothal. See what I can do."

Nodding at her when she expressed her interest, perhaps even excitement at the idea of going a mission to stop smugglers. Hearing her ideas he shrugged at her. Her suggestions were possibilities, but he had no answers. Those crystals could be used for a great many things. None of them good for the Galaxy in the hands of the Sith. "I don't know Rae. Those are all very real possibilities, but we won't know either way. We may not even find out when we finish this mission. It's very possible these smugglers don't know anything. But in any case we need to stop them."

Rae noticed when his voice trailed off and she realized that he had sensed her sadness, thinking about her parents. She looked at him as he looked at her with a tilted head. She saw his smile, knowing it was probably more of a forced one, when he realized that she had been trying to give back the same attitude. She was generally pretty good at that when she was able to. She noticed that he recognized her enjoying the attention he was giving her. She mainly dealt with people who bossed her around when she wasn't training at the Temple. The bartender back at the bar had giving her a job on her eighteenth birthday as a waitress so she had a little bit of an income. She returned her glance back to Cassus when he responded to the fact that she didn't have somewhere to stay within the Jedi. "It's no big deal. I mean, I've found a place for now and I can take care of myself. The bar is honestly taking care of me. It's what's paying for me to eat and for anything else I need." she said with a tiny smile.

She had noticed that he listened with respect as she talked to him about the safe house. Seeing the look on his face when he was interested that she hadn't been with the Jedi for very long, made her smile a little bit. "Well, that sounds good to me. At least there will be more than enough people taking care of this place instead of just me." she responded keeping the small smile on her face.

Whatever the Sith were doing with the crystals, it could only mean trouble. The sith had no good uses for Kaiburr crystals other than to get rid of people. And that was good from a sith's eyes, and bad in a Jedi's eyes. "Well, we should find out. In that case, we should get on the mission before its too late. Better to be there sooner than later. And that way we can hopefully figure out what the issue truly is." she said.

Humming, Cassus shrugged at Rae, a small frown lined his face as he entertained a few thoughts about what it must have been like for Rae to be there on her own. After a few more seconds, Cassus looked to his young companion, still frowning, and studI'd the girl for a few more moments. "Still, even if it's not a very big deal to you, it is to me. I want to make sure all our young and aspiring hopefuls are taken care of. So at the very least I'm glad to hear that the bar is providing for you, even though I don't think it should have ever come to that."

Chuckling at Rae's comment about there being more people to take care of the house with his plan, Cassus smirked as he nodded at her. He was glad to see that she looked at least somewhat pleased with his answer, he felt like there's more he should be able to do, but for the moment there wasn't a whole lot and he knew it. "Glad to hear it. With any luck there will be many Jedi here."

"Yes, we should find out. You're right. And you're also right that we should get underway with our mission, preferably now." Clearing his throat he stood, offering Rae his hand to help her up. Moving towards the door, he looked back at her and smiled. "Get anything you might need and put it in a pack. We'll be needing a ship to make sure we can make it everywhere in time. The ship we're using is parked at the temple, we'll need to leave now if we want to have the full day to complete our mission."

Cassus waited on Rae, making sure she was ready for exiting the abandoned house with her and headed for their ship.

Rae watched Cassus as he studied her for few seconds before responding. His response wasn't exactly one she expected, but she was happy to hear it. "Well, then if it's wha you'd prefer to do, I'd deeply appreciate it." She responded giving a small smile. When he mentioned the bar, she made a little bit of a face. "Well, I've been working there for a few years now. I'd say at least three." She responded.

She gave a small giggle when he chuckled and listened to his answer with a smile. She knew he wanted to do more. She could see th look in his eyes that said it all. Her smile grew a little bigger when she heard his answer. "I'd love for there to be lots of Jedi here. The place would come alive." She said looking around the area they were sitting in.

"I agree. I'm curious about the mission." She smiled accepting his hand as he helped her up. She brushed her shirt down softly and she looked up in time to see him turn around and smile at her. Rae blushed the very slightest as she smiled back as she then collected her sabers, putting them on her belt along with her blasters, holstering them. "Well, I'm ready if you are." She said with a smile.

The Mirialan was sitting at the table. He was wearing his armour still, but he had a coal grey cloak on, covering his body, with the hood hoisted over his head. His face in shadows, he took a swig of the alcohol he had in his hand. He looked at the liquid and it swirled without his hand moving the cup. He formed it into different shapes. He was listening to the woman, Rae and the man, Cassus. When they got up, he tensed and the drink dropped back into the cup.

He used the reflection from his glass to see the man get up and walk to the door. He watched him turn around. He saw the woman through his glass hook the sabres to her belt and let out a small sigh, scratching his eyebrow. He listened, waiting for the man to respond.

"I'm glad to hear it. Let's get going then, shall we?" Cassus thought he saw the very hint of a blush on her face as he led her out of the safe house. Offering her his arm, he figured he could at least be a bit of a gentleman as they walked out of the safe house and into the streets. It would be a bit of a walk out of the town and into the open fields, and even longer until they get to where their shuttle was parked at the temple. "It's nice out, don't you think? The weather seems almost perfect, I guess it's a shame we have to spend the day on a mission instead of enjoying this, eh?"

The Jedi Knight let out a little laugh as they walked through the busy and bustling city streets. In the back of his mind he felt uneasy, it was that tingling sensation, like a breeze blew through his head and ran down his spine. It was the Force. Whatever it was he wasn't sure, he just hope it wouldn't complicate things, and if it did that he and Rae could handle it. Taking a deep breath Cassus remembered the Jedi Code, silently reciting part of the mantra to himself. There is no emotion, there is peace. It was something he often repeated to himself when he needed focus, when he needed to find his center again.

The pair of Jedi finally made their way out of the town and into the heather fields and rolling plains of Lothal. It only took them a couple of minutes from the safe house, after all, the town wasn't that big. Seeing the expanse stetch out before then, Cassus thought it best to come up with some small talk, "So Rae, tell me a little bit about yourself. What did you do before being a Jedi? Do you remember? Got any big plans or anything like that? Ideas of what you'd like to learn? Maybe I can help teach you!"

Vihu had gotten up. He walked out after them, but moved in a different direction. He had a small monitor in his hand, watching the small red dot beeping across the map of Lothal. He walked to a ship hangar and to his ship. He has not given his ship an official name, but it was an Aleph-class Starfighter, a newly made variant of the TIE Fighter series. He had hired engineering experts on Raxus Prime to build it for him.

He clicked a button on the datapad on his wrist, the hatch opening. He climbed in and turned it on. He waited, watching the monitor for its signal that it got into a ship.

Rae nodded when he asked if they should go. He put his arm out and she looked up at him with a smile, taking his strong muscular arm. They walked out of the house and into the streets. It was such a beautiful day. There was a soft summer like breeze blowing her hair softly, the skies were blue and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Not to mention that it wasn't too cold or too hot out there. "It is a beautiful day. Probably one of the best days Lothal has ever had. But yes, it is a shame that we have to go on a mission instead of spending time together in the markets." she smiled again.

She continued smiling when she heard his laugh. It was so perfect. She also sensed that something was different in the air and she knew Cassus sensed it too. She knew it was the force, but why? Why now at this point? She knew that whatever was bothering them, they would easily hopefully be able to take it down without a scratch.

Once they emerged from the city, they found the beautiful fields of flowers and tall grass. She loved coming out this way when she could. It helped her focus and it kept her calm when she came out here. It was one of her favorite places to be when she wanted to be alone. Cassus then broke her train of thought asking her to tell him a little bit about her. "Well, there isn't too much to know about me. Before I found the Jedi, I was rebelling against the Empire. Anytime they had any type of explosive shipments come in, I'd blow 'em up. The look on some of the Imerials' faces when I'd come around were funny. By the fourth time I had exploded heir supplies, I was captured. And it kept happening for a few weeks. Until I exploded an entire base of theirs. After that, they ran and hid anytime I came around. So at the time I was about 15 I started needing more credits. I honestly didn't have enough to get by living on my own and I knew the bartender/owner at the bar very well, so I went there and started picking up shifts to earn an income. Last year he told me that my parents should really start helping me pay for stuff. I told him that they couldn't do anything. He obviously asked why and I had to tell him that they had been dead for a few years." she started feeling what she had felt when she was back at the house, but pushed it away again. It was best for her not to cry. Crying never helped anything, as her friend at the bar had always said.

Smiling back at Rae as she agreed with his assessment of the weather and the day, Cassus hummed thoughtfully for several seconds as they walked. There was a nice breeze on his face as they moved into the open fields, Rae's arm still looped through his. Finally, he spoke, "I think perhaps if we have some free time after we finish this mission, and if the weather is still as nice as it is today, then maybe we can go have that nice enjoyable walk? Go visit the markets or wherever, maybe you can show me how a local like yourself passes the time around here. I try to get to know all the new Padawans I meet, and you seem to be pretty new, not having a whole lot of experience with the Jedi yet. I think it would be good to make a friend or two for the future."

Giving the teenage girl a wink, Cassus grinned before turning his face forward. She had a cute smile, and he felt something from her for a moment. Was that affection for him? No, they had just met, it was highly unlikely. Maybe simple attraction? It was possible, perhaps even likely. Cassus was no doubt one of her first friends in the Jedi, and he was probably very nice to her. He wondered if she found him cute, he found her cute. Shaking his head to clear those thoughts from him, he looked away.

As they continued to walk, Cassus listened to Rae talk a little bit about herself. The Jedi Knight gave his attention to the young girl, appearing to be very interested in what she had go say. Her tale almost had a bit of a fantastical edge to it as she spoke of all the things she had done. When she had finished, Cassus smirked and gave her an approving nod. For a moment he could feel her sadness again and he pulled her a little closer to him. He wanted her to know she didn't have to hide her feelings from him. Opening his mouth he started to speak, "Well, I'm glad to hear that you've got that job, making enough money to get by on your own now... but you're a Jedi, you have a new family! I can help you pay for anything you need. A Jedi shouldn't ever need anything like food, or water, or a place to sleep, unless we're on a mission of course. I guess on a mission a Jedi should expect to suffer, or at least expect hardships. My master told me that the life of a Jedi is full of hardship and suffering. Not in the normal sense like you would think, not physical pain, but a Jedi is supposed to serve, and are expected to suffer for people. But that doesn't mean we have to let each other suffer unnecessarily. Just remember, you can call on other Jedi, Jedi like me to help if you ever need something."

Cassus gave her a wink and grinned. Looked out ahead of them he spied a small shuttle on a landing pad not too far away in the distance. That was the ship they were going to take. "Have you gotten to fly a lot? I suspect we'll be doing a lot of it today. Anything I need to know? You don't get space sick easily, do you?"

Rae was looking around for a second until Cassus spoke again. Her eyes grew wider in excitement when she heard his suggestion on taking a walk after the mission. "That would be wonderful! I'd love that very much." she replied with a bigger smile than before. She then started thinking about what they would do if they were able to come back later that evening and give a tour for Cassus. She was loving the fact that she was lucky enough to get him by her side for the mission. She was definitely happy and knew some thing would go well with both of them.

She saw his wink and smiled again. Rae then also looked back to where they were heading and sense that he had felt her thoughts. She had definitely found him cute and pretty much wondered if he felt the same way back. She had some weird feeling that he did, she just wasn't sure.

She noticed he was listening carefully to her story, but she also noticed that he was slightly not believing what she said. After she had finished she looked over to him as he gave a little smirk and a nod. Rae had noticed though when he had pulled her closer to him. Her head turned back to him when he said that he coudl pay for anything she needed. "Really??" she asked. No words came to her mouth after hearing that. She was surprised to hear something like that come from him. She wasn't exactly surprised seeing how handsom and sweet he was, she just didn't expect it.

She smiled back at Cassus and followed his glance to see his ship in the distance. She heard his question and giggled the very slightest. "Yes, surprisingly I have flown a little bit. I usually stole some Imperial TIEs or transports. They shouldn't make them so not complicated if they didn't want me taking them." she giggled again. "But no, I do not get space sick."

Seeing her smile even wider at him caused Cassus to snicker a little as he confirmed what he had just told her. It was amusing for him to see Rae get so excited over having something to do when they got back, to do something with him. Truth be told, Cassus was more than a little excited himself, Rae seemed like an interesting girl, and he was eager to see how well she did on the mission and what she was like as a Jedi and a person. "Glad to hear it. Hopefully it'll be a nice and enlightening experience."

"Yes, really," Cassus smiled at her as he reached over gave her hand a squeeze as well. She was obviously shocked, and Cassus enjoyed that a little more than he should have, but he simply grinned and gave her a nod to confirm what he had told her. He felt another wave of emotion from her, causing him to smile a little more. It was the least he could do as a person, as Jedi, and as a potentially close friend in the future.

Nodding as he listened to Rae tell him about her experience flying. Smirking, Cassus hummed to himself, "Excellent, at least I don't have to worry about you throwing up everywhere." He chuckled, "Alright let's get on board and get going." Walking up into the cockpit, Cassus started the engines up waiting for Rae to take the copilot seat. "When you're buckled in we'll get going."

Rae heard his snickering which made her giggle slightly. She had love the idea of spending more time with him and she had thought about asking pretty much the same thing. She was just going to ask him out for dinner. Honestly, she had energy about to explode out of her, she was so excited. She wanted to jump up and down and practically throw a party. But that would have seemed a little stretched out. And then if she had truly done that, Cassus would have thought she needed some mental help. "I would hope so too." she said calmly with a touch of excitement in her voice. The excitement was too much to hold back.

When Cassus reached over and gave her hand a small squeeze, it made her think more about how strong he was. She noticed that Cassus enjoyed her shock. It made her giggle a little bit the way he took the situation.

Listening to Cassus say his next comment, she knew something sarcastic had to be coming. When she heard him say it, she laughed. She just couldn't hold it back. "I'm sorry, I had to. I just wasn't expecting to hear what you just said the way you said it." she laughed a tiny bit more, just quieter and it was more of a giggle than a laugh now. Smiling again, she nodded in agreement when he said that they should get on board so they could go. She followed him up into the cockpit and sat down in the copilot seat next to him. She was watching him start the engines as she buckled the seat belt. Rae then looked up to Cassus with a small smile and a slight nod. "I'm ready." she responded.

Shrugging at Rae when she started to laugh at him for the comment he made, Cassus simply gave her a bit of smirk as he walked across the golden fields, cutting his own path through the tall grass. Inside the shuttle, the Jedi knight found himself getting acquainted rather quickly as he took his seat in the pilot's chair. Buckling himself in, Cassus watched as Rae sat down into the chair across from him. Returning the small smile she gave him, he reached across the console to grab her hand and give it a very gentle, but very compassionate squeeze to reassure her and tell her in a rather unspoken way that he was happy to have her there with him. "Alright," he responded, "Time to get out of here. Let's see where the Force takes us today!"

Flying the ship into the air, Cassus activated his scanners, trying to figure out his flight path. "Okay then," he remarked as he finally figured it out after a few moments. "There's supposed to be a meeting way out in the badlands, in about an hour... I'm thinking we get there early, land far enough away not to be spotted or draw attention, wait for the deal to go down and interrupt it. Hopefully nabbing all these smugglers, some people who might know what's going on, and the crystals. That's my plan anyways, what do you think? Got any suggestions? Things you'd change or improve? I'm all ears!"

Cassus waited to hear what Rae would say before also asking, "So what are you good at? What are you bad at? What do I have to work with here? If we're making a plan, I figure we should know what we can do and stuff, ya know?"
