OOC: As always, open for reactions or whatever you like. This thread is following the events of 23 Questions with Emperor Vrael. It should be noted that the events of that thread were not broadcast and this is simply a report following.

The imposing visage of Nastia Vant once again filled vidscreens and holodisplays across the galaxy. She was dressed in red today, a daring choice.

"Welcome back, tonight we have a special report from Jacob Tagger on the Old Empire. HNN was able to send Jacob to meet with the mysterious Emperor Vrael. It was a rare, special opportunity to get an inside look of life on Korriban, showcased by the Emperor himself. We go now to Jacob Tagger who is on Korriban with his report."

The camera cut to black.

Slowly a beautiful shot of the Sith temple, with the sun haloing it from behind faded in. The camera panned slowly, widening the shot to show rows upon rows of dedicated soldiers framing the entrance before cutting to show market places and civilians leading a surprisingly normal life. It was an interesting juxtaposition, intentional on Jacob's part. It suggested that while there was everyday life, everything was still under the iron grip of the Sith and their vast armies.

The camera moved again, this time panning over to find Jacob in frame, standing in one of the street markets of Korriban.

"Good evening, everyone. Jacob Tagger here with a special report from Korriban.

"Earlier this week I had the rare opportunity to meet with Emperor Vrael and learn a little more about life on Korriban. He is a fascinating man, I have to say. Our meeting was cut short due to a small development that required his attention, but what we did manage to cover was fascinating, to say the least."

Jacob turned away form the camera to view the bustling market behind him with a suggestion of surprise in his posture and expression.

"I have to admit, when I landed on Korriban, I didn't know what to expect. The Sith are shrouded in mystery and no world is as mysterious to the galaxy at large than Korriban itself. Long since the seat of power in Sith Empires over the ages, it has developed a certain mystique.

"I was certain that I would arrive to find a barren world inhabited only by Sith who spent their days at tasks beyond the comprehension of most beings. I am surprised, and pleased to say that Korriban is not just a world of monks and sorcerers. Regular people live here, and as Emperor Vrael pointed out to me: "Everyday life here is just like on other worlds". He went on to say that, though Korriban may be less fertile than others, people still have jobs and citizens of the Old Empire bravely serve in the armed forces to safegaurd them.

"That's not to say that there aren't differences though; the central feature of the world is the Sith Academy--such a thing sounds so very unlikely--and it is a place of education and training. Not education as we might think of it, though I'm sure standard education must still thrive here or the citizens would be illiterate and they most certainly not that."
Jacob shrugged ever so slightly.

"Life in the academy is regulated and strict, certainly, but the calling of a Sith is one that requires patience and dedication. Though given to certain outbursts of violence and other less than savory things, it seems that their education is in place to counter that." Jacob coughed. "Whether or not it works is another thing all together but that is for a different story.

"Life her is perhaps a little more rugged than many are accustomed to, but the people go on just as most do in the rest of the galaxy. People love, they work and they live; it has an elegant simplicity to it. That said, while Emperor Vrael is a man of great composure and intellect, I remain unsure of the students. Many citizens speak in hushed tones of dark dealings in the temple. I saw none of it, heard none of it, but yet the whispers remain.

"But maybe they are just whispers. Korriban is a unique world, certainly and the presence of juvinile Sith present a unique problem but from what I have seen, the world is not one that should be shrouded in mystery. It's been fascinating to spend time here and meet with the Emperor. I have learned much about the way of life and their culture, of which the Sith and the Force are central to. I hope some day to return and have a full interview with the Emperor. Our interview was cut short before I could take the conversation to the political. Hearing his views on the Imperial Republica and the Mandalorian uprising would have made for a riveting conversation."

Jacob looked directly into the camera and smiled, though it didn't reach his eyes, try as he might.

"Good evening everyone, back to you, Nastia."

If Nastia was troubled by the uncharacteristically bland report by her colleague, she didn't show it. She shuffled papers on her desk before looking at the camera and moving on.

"Thank you Jacob. Korriban seems much more real now." Was that a touch of sarcasm in her voice? "Now onto our next story. Duracreet Parasites: Fact or Fiction. Science reporter Erin Garvik has the story."
