Adun finished with the cut and grabbed the vibro-saw. He looked at Ray's sleeping form and frowned as he turned it on. The metal blades whirled as he closed his eyes once again and felt as if he had done this plenty of times before, as if someone was walking him through each step while preforming it with him. Slowly he lowered the blade and made a straight cut across the incision, as Ray's blood began to flow out.
Adun finished the cut after a few pained moments and sensed for his children. Knowing what was at stake, he moved fast. He reached in and drew out one form before looking to Maia, his hands soaked in Ray's blood. "Maia, hold them please."
Maia forced herself to watch what was happening and when Adun handed a baby to her, she took it carefully and held it as it cried "Of course." She said with a smile. This baby was definitely healthy.
Adun went back and pulled out the other child and woke it from the trance as he handed the newborn to Maia. He then went about sealing the cut on Ray. "We need a caretaker droid. We need to cut the umbilical cords and get the children wrapped up."
Maia held the first child steadily as Adun soon handed her the next one. "Right. Do you know where the caretaker droids are?" She asked. She couldn't exactly go anywhere when she was holding two kids connected to Rayla.
Adun pulled the rest of the cords out from Rayla and looked over to the powered down medical droid in the corner as he began sealing Rayla's cut. He reached out and powered it up. "Go activate a caretaker unit. Immediately." He was starting to worry now. Cutting the cord wasn't to concern, but he couldn't properly diagnose his children without a droid to help.
Maia nodded seeing the droid, and looked for a spot to set the children down where they wouldn't be too far from where she was. She placed them carefully next to Rayla where there was enough space for them to be placed without falling and ran over to the droid activating it and it then followed her over to where Adun and Rayla were.
Adun looked at his children, who were still crying and waving their tiny limbs about when Maia returned. Adun looked up as he fought back the tears that were beginning to sting his eyes. "Activate standard birth protocol."
When Maia came back over she looked at Adun who was holding back tears and gave him a reassuring nod. She then looked to the droid and activated the standard birth protocol and then watched as the droid did its thing. When she saw that Rayla and the babies were being taken care of she glanced up every nw and then to Adun before going over to him. "Are you ok?" She whispered to him.
Hearing Maia's voice Adun looked back and nodded as he wiped the mosture from his eyes. "Yea....Never been better." He felt the calming effect from earlier begin to fade as he heard his old master's voice whisper to him."The force will be with you always...." He smiled slightly at hearing her voice again, and understood what had just occured. He whispered quietly to himself "Thank you master." He looked at his newborn children and down at Ray; still in a twilight from the operation. He powered down the medical droid and put his hand on Ray's. "She'll be out of it for a little while." He put his hand on the sealed cut from the surgery and began healing it, drawing away much of his energy. "How....are the....children?" He grunted out as his head began pounding like crazy from the exertion.
Maia took her gloves off and looked at Adun again. His response wasn't convincing, but as always she believed in her friend. He was always truthful to her and she knew it. With Maia's hearing being so good she heard him thanking his master for something.. but she rather gave a very tiny smile and ignored it for now. She put her hand on his shoulder secretly giving some of her energy to him. She knew he would have declined it if she offered, so she did it on her own for his sake. Maia then looked to the caretaker droid who had the two babies clothed and wrapped with blankets who were now asleep. She went over to the droid and nodded to it as it handed the babies to her. She looked at them with a secret motherly look as she brought them over to Adun. "Looks like they're doing well. It also looks like you're a father." She whispered with a smirk. She offered to have him hold one of his own children but stopped to see he still had his gloves on. "You may want to take those gloves off if you want to hold them without them getting dirty." She whispered to him again now smiling.
After a moment of healing Rayla, Adun removed his bloodsoaked surgery gloves and disposed of them before holding to two newborns. He held the two close to him as he set the bundles down beside Ray. "Hey there little ones. I'm gonna be your daddy....."
Ray woke up blinking and shading her eyes from the ceiling light pointed directly at her and her stomach. She was completely clueless and moody as she used to be,"Hmm? What? What time is it? PUT BLOODY LIGHT OFF!"
Ray closed her eyes tightly and lifted herself up to a sitting position,"Wha...our kids...am I still dreaming? Because I thought I had three rancors as children. They were very helpful around the house. You were lazy though"
Adun shook his head and handed her one of the newborns as he held another. His face was starting to hurt from smiling so much. "It's not a dream Ray. The surgical drugs are still in your system, but...I thought you should at least see our children."
