Laeonas hadn't been sure if his attack would land-- truthfully, he had almost started to think that Kat was more than his match. That was until he slammed into her, pinning his opponent beneath him in a completely successful move. He'd found the weakness in Kat's fighting style that he had been searching for, probing her defenses until he smashed through them. It was a sparring match, so the Brentaalan wouldn't go all out going forward-- but she wouldn't learn anything if this didn't hurt.

Pinned beneath him, Laeonas wouldn't waste any time as he sensed the girl's breathe hitching. Before she could recover he had released one of his arms from around her back and wrapped it around her neck, kicking himself up to her side and catching the girl in a choke hold. Kat was relying on pulling herself up and finding the leverage necessary to use her body weight and strength to toss him off her, but that would be incredibly difficult, seeing as how the girl would have to get out of or avoid the headlock he was about to put her in.
