The Past: Nar Shadda Slave Markets

Kharnas stood at the edge of the busy area whilst bids were yelled from the crowd towards the sellers. With his hood drawn the Sith’s features were hidden although his lekku hung freely so his race was obvious. Although a Twi’lek himself it was not unheard of for highly ranked servants, often slaves themselves, to come to Nar Shadda’s slave markets for their masters.

Moving through the crowd Kharnas drew upon the Dark Side to silence his footsteps and make himself harder for the crowd around him to notice his passing. Although not invisible per say it was more likely that the eyes of those around him would be more likely to slide off the Sith Assassin without focusing on him.

The person Kharnas was here to find was not up for sale although she was an assassin.

His partner for this operation, fellow Sith Kor’ez, was far away at the refugee sector in an old shuttle craft. The pair had decided that out of the two of them Kharnas was the far superior infiltrator and that the Lethan’s features and stature made him stand out too much in the crowd.

Kharnas was here for someone he knew better than most people in the galaxy. The Twi’lek himself had once been a slave under the group of arrogant Sith calling themselves the Vanguard. Those days were done and he had dealt with his masters with the most painful methods he could conjure up. Kor’ez likewise had slaughtered his own master. Eluv had done similar. The leaders of the Vanguard were dead. However many of their servants still remained, some had been slain, whilst others still held on to what power they could with their Dark Side Adept servants still in chains.

Most of the enslaved Adepts knew one another, their training had been done in groups in the past and a fair few came from the same slave markets during their youth.

Moving past the main market the Sith slipped into one of the side doors and through into the private area owned by the “Businessman” Tobias Dornforth. The man had once hoped to join the newly arrived Sith Order properly having been inducted into the Sith Masters of the Vanguard but his dreams were now dashed. With his masters dead and their former slaves turned Sith were now out for blood. Tobias went by another name now but that hadn’t saved him. Kharnas was connected through the Force to his closest allies and Quyne’afa was one of them. He was sure the Dark Side would let him find her anywhere on the planet and it seemed Tobias was too greedy to abandon his investments on the planet.

It took little time to find Tobias’ pens for his fighting slaves. The idea that he had put his Dark Side servant into fighting pits was infuriating to Kharnas. Quyne was so much more than that, even Kharnas’ own masters had used him as an Assassin whilst Kor’ez had been used as a Bodyguard. Quyne? A simple tool to bleed and kill for the amusement of others.

The sickening thought fed his rage and as such his grasp over the Dark Side.

Moving like a ghost it wasn’t long until Kharnas reached the door to the slave cages of the fighters and he pulled out a computer spike to begin slicing the door controls.

Prologue. At this point in time Chom, known as Kharnas, was at a power level between Sith Marauder and Sith Lord with a focus on stealth and saberstaff use.
