"Um...yes" Tamara put up her hand,"Are you gonna pair us up randomly or what's the story?" She wouldn't want to duel someone younger and less skilled than her, unless for the purpose of teaching others, in which case she would be fine with.

The piano had faded away and Jakt pushed himself from the wall, tapping out the bowl of tabac in his pipe then setting it in his satchel on the floor next to him. He rummaged around a little bit and drew out his whetstone, removed the power cell from his vibroblade and with one brutal sounding Shrrrk he dulled the blade. He caught quite a few glances and flushed for Jakt was used to the loud forest with screaming drexls and the sounds of natural selection washing over him, not this quiet ice-world. All these young and bright-eyed kids had gathered around eager to learn from the instructors. Even though he wasn't, he felt really, really old. That wasn't what was important though, he was going to bring his experience to the order and the order was going to bring their experience to him.

He returned the power cell and the Beast Lord stepped out as the instructors had called everyones attention. Some of the padawans looked at him quizzically as he lined up with them instead of with the instructors; perhaps some of them had thought he was scouting for a padawan. No kids, he thought, this old sheb is here with you. He held his blade locked under his arm as he listened and watched the Jedi perform a disarm. Thelonious had tried to do this to him during their sparring match and had nearly succeeded. Jakt would value this disarm, all the ones he had been taught back on Onderon were more of the cut-the-arm-off-and-the-weapon-will-follow nature. He mimicked the hand movement with his sword tucked under his arm and in a gruff guttural voice, "No master Jedi."

Tarnit still was silent. As the demonstration was going on, he slowly circled till he was standing behind the group of Padawans, sensing their excitement, and nervousness. He was looking for anything to stand out to point to a his future padawan.

Summer wasn't nervous, but she wasn't very confident any more either. She'd never fought anything with a sword before, let alone a light saber. She had held one of the things once, shortly after arriving on this desolate ice planet. It was a very strange weapon. The blade was weightless but cut through almost anything. She was more used to bowcasters, long bows, slingshots, and snare traps. She watched intently as the older knights demonstrated the move they were teaching the group of padawans, determined not to seem stupid in front of all these people.

It seemed like there were several older knights just watching, for what purpose she couldn't fathom. One of them circled around to the back of the group, where Summer was, and she glanced back at him once, ensuring herself that he was not a threat. She knew almost nothing about how humans and other sentients acted around each other. During her short time here so far, she had observed many interactions, but hadn't deciphered how that meant she should act. She did know that everyone in this temple was supposed to be friendly, but that didn't mean she would willingly put her back to a potential enemy. As far as she was concerned, she still had to look out for herself just like when she was in the wild mountains of her home.

The two knights having demonstrated, Tarnit stepped up through the group of students, "So, let's pair up, shall we?"
Pointing to Summer and Bast, "You two, we will head down to room b, and we will practice."
Then to Jakt "We have another adult padawan who would love to spar with you. Thelonious, why don't you stay here with Jakt and Clara and give them a hands on approach."
Finally he came to Jake and Adun, "You two, follow Cecil down to room c."

With that, Tarnit exited the room and headed to training room b.
