Here's to those who enjoy reading epics and sagas of the Age of Heroes, when legends and myths weren't so far away and distant. To those who want to explore the New World, or maybe pillage and plunder it. Here's to those who just want to sail the seas and laugh in the face of a storm.

The Saltborn Saga is part of a story currently being written by myself, and is set in a world not unlike Horizon Zero Dawn and incorporates story elements from indie game Hyper Light Drifter. It tells of an artificial world created by a long-gone space faring race that left behind a legacy of an experiment: the last shred of an even older race, living in the wilds and clinging to old faiths.

The inhabitants of the world know very little of their world's true origins or purpose, and cling to the two faiths for answers: The New Gods, the four great artificial intelligence caretakers who are venerated by the Plainsmen of Midlendr, and the First God: a spirit created by the amalgamation of ancient faiths and laws of the land. Vicious, merciless but fair, this is a faith held by the Saltborn, settlers of Ej ae Sjzal (Isles of Salt). To the plainsmen of Ebana Stajd however, they are Vikings, a race of raiders, warriors and pirates who plunder their coastline without mercy or fear of death. They live, breath and fight to become one with the First God, and their deeds are legendary. Epics, sagas and songs are sung of their deeds, and the world dreads their dragonships.

There is much adventure awaiting in Midlendr: ancient magicks, old and exciting technology from the Old Ones and many raids to take part in! Riches, fame and glory, there is no better life to lead in the Age of Heroes. Dare you join?
