Two Sides Of The Same Coin
Opinion: Divya Velt

With the ongoing conflict raging across countless systems, there are many across the Galaxy who have expressed their opinions on both the Sith and the Jedi orders. There are many who attempt to paint differences between these two orders. Rather then attempting to defense and criminalize one or the other, I would ask you all to reflect on a simple reality: The Jedi and the Sith are no different at all.

One needs to only look at generations of Galactic history to see the truth. Andraste was once a Jedi. Vader was once a Jedi. Kylo Ren was once a Jedi. Pong Krell was once a Jedi! Time and time again, the Jedi have not only failed to prevent the rise of generations of Sith - but they themselves have directly propelled them into power. They take children - stripping them from the arms of their mothers and loving families - and brainwash them into following their ideologies. They turn our own youth into weapons, and utilize them as child soldiers to fight their never-ending religious crusade. A crusade that had done nothing but bring destruction, pain and trauma to countless worlds across the Galaxy.

Would the Sith even EXIST without the Jedi in the first place? With every planet that burns and system that is invaded, are the Jedi themselves not also to blame for creating this conflict? How many more examples do we need to see before we are convinced? The Sith and the Jedi are two sides of the exact same coin. They are no different, and they have both caused the people of the Galaxy nothing but unneeded suffering and heartache.

If we want the fighting and the suffering to come to an end, both of these orders need to be collapsed.

Cancel-culture was a bitch. Rubeus Bangalore had seen this propaganda before, and he was sure he wasn't liking it anymore than when he first laid eyes on old Anti-Jedi speeches. A frown set across the old man's face. Everyone always wanted to point their fingers at something and then declared that they 'needed' to. The Jedi are good and always have been. No one in this galaxy was perfect, either. Not the New Republic, not the Independent Systems Consortium, not the Free World's Alliance. Especially not the Sith.

"Well at least it's both the Jedi and the Sith...right?" Said a little voice from over the General's shoulder. "Shaquille, silver lining won't do the Jedi any good." Rubeus explained with a gentle smile. "Then what will?" Little Shaq asked innocently. "People believe that two organizations are the source of conflict. It is as if no one remember the Zaa Fenn crime family. Or Chancellor Ro's death. Or the Mandalorian raids on FWA planets." Rubeus began. "I remember those! I remember!" This earned a chuckle from the General.

"Then, my little pride, I need you to remember this, if you can't remember anything else from your great grandpa." Shaquille had moved to kneel in front of Rubeus, as if expecting to receive some great treasure. "There will always be evil. There will always be bad people. There will always be mistakes. And most importantly, their is always room for us to grow." Shaquille looked disappointed. "That's what momma says! I already know that..." Rubeus laughed again and ruffled his great grandchild's hair. "My boy, bad things are bound to happen. How we choose to deal with them is what matters most. We can point fingers and blame each other, or, we can work together to do what's right. And the easiest path, is not always the right one."

"So...what's the right path, Pops?" Shaquille asked. "I'm not sure. But for now...start by serving your fellow men and doing a good turn daily." Shaquille beamed. "Which includes helping your mother around the house." Shaquille threw his hands up and groaned to which Rubeus only chuckled again. "Hard work builds character, Little Shaq."

And we need a lot of good character, right about now...
