The Sparking Fang

The Sparking Fang is a Dark Side artefact of unknown origins found in the unending swamplands of the planet Zakuul. Deeply saturated in the Dark Side, the Sparking Fang is unique among many artefacts of the Sith in that it can be used by non-Force Sensitives.

The Sparking Fang dagger was created by cultists on Zakuul dedicated to the worship of the Dark Side surrounding the Force Nexus on the planet. Native crystal and obsidian were forged together by said Cultists using Dark Side magics in the immediate surrounding area of the Nexus.

Parasitic in nature, the dagger can be used by a Force Sensitive by drawing on their connection to the Dark Side - but can be used by a non-Force Sensitive with the sacrifice of blood. The sacrifice must be made by the user stabbing their own palm with the spikes along the grip of the blade, at which point it will drain a half pint of blood to activate the attack.

Rumor has it that there are actually several dozen of these daggers along the surface of Zakuul but they have been hidden away during the years, though the precise locations have been lost to time.

With the Dark Side embedded within the crystal, the length of the blade is lightsaber resistant in the same manner of ancient Sith Blades. Alongside this, the Sparking Fang has two abilities granted to it by the Sith magics that created it, both relating to Force Lightning.

This can be activated upon contact with either enemy or enemy weaponry to have the lightning burst down along the point of contact to act as a very painful method of stunning (heavy stun effect, with added pain). It can also be activated as a blast of Sith Lightning that can travel in the same manner as a Sith Lord's lightning blast for up to 20m, over the course of 3 seconds.

The power of the Sparking Fang can be used only once per combat session, requiring time to recharge after it has been discharged. When used by a Force Sensitive, the activation requires no active concentration aside from a forceful thought to activate the effect in the desired manner - for a Non-Force Sensitive, however, the blood sacrifice required results in pain that can only be described as incredibly distracting, making it hard to be used by Non-Force Sensitives even if it isn't impossible.
