Kessel. If Chandrilla was the bright heart and soul of the galaxy, a place of hope and enlightenment, then Kessel was arguably as far from the utopia of Chandrilla as one could possibly come. It was a world of slave labour and corruption. A world where criminals ruled in all but name, where groups such as the Pyke Syndicate and the Black Sun operated the spice mines with impunity, as long as a cut of the profit was delivered to the Royal Family in their luxurious palaces in the southern hemisphere.

Now, hunting criminals like the Pykes and the Black Sun makes up for a large part of the Bounty Hunters' Guild's bread and butter. But even the Guild would think twice about hitting their operations on Kessel, where they had enough manpower to match a small army, along with sophisticated defenses they'd spent centuries perfecting. Ray shields, automated turrets, Hunter-Killer drones, and rapid deployment squads of heavily armed thugs in landspeeders, were all part of the obstacles that the aspiring bounty hunter Evelyn Yara had to overcome.

The Guild had sent her to the spice world in order to rescue a prisoner from the Spice Mines. Ironically, a fugitive from Republic law, that had to be brought back to Corellia to be tried and processed for his crimes, before being thrown into a Republic prison. However, the pay was staggeringly good, and with a relatively disposable Hunter like Ms. Yara, the Guild could risk sending an agent in to retrieve said prisoner. In case of capture, the Guild could deny any involvement to the Pykes and the Black Sun. However, should Evelyn make it, she'd not only cash in a hefty bounty, but she'd also be recognized as a fully licensed member of the Bounty Hunter's Guild.
