The Grand Hunt was about to begin. Organized the information broken known as the Corellian along with the Bounty Hunters Guild, the hunt was advertised to an array of candidates, mostly bounty hunters, some vagrants. The hunt this year had attracted deviants from its normal participants, enticed through the cash price funded by Senator Aren Krass and Gorme the Hutt. Hundreds of targets had been considered, but ultimately the Corellian and Guildmaster Zae Tannarah had narrowed down to only a few dozen marks.

The information broker Corellian revealed intelligence that the Sith Brotherhood had established a listening post on Edusa. The outpost was small, though nicely situated near the Border Alliance. According to information gathered, the outpost was only running due to the leadership of Commander Vexton Velti, the namesake of Velti Base. It was suspected that Vexton's death would lead to the base being taken over by others, and sent back to Sith space. However, the defenses were untested, and a full-on assault was unwise. As such, the Corellian and Guildmaster both agreed that the best course of action was for the hunter to sneak into the base, eliminate Vexton Velti, and escape without tripping any alarms or engaging the security forces, which were minimal, but deadly. Zae Tannarah ultimately decided to send one of her elite hunters to go after Vexton on Edusa.

The information on the outpost was bare minimum, and that was after she had applied her best intel gathering abilities to work. She had waited till the cover of night, at a time when some of the guards were a bit less effective. It was a few hours after midnight, night shift guards getting exhausted, yet day shift guards not due for several more hours. Talia had prepared for this, of course, setting up an obscure camp not too far to observe the actions of those at the outpost during the day. She had covered her tracks well, posing as a general civilian that blended into the crowd. She had been sure to cover up her tattoos and any other features that would distinguish her.

Tonight, however, she was armed. The woman had found the perfect point to launch a grappling gun and haul herself up onto a ledge. This was out of sight of any of the guards below, and she remained perched there for a moment. The bounty hunter moved like a cat, light on her feet and moving in silence. In truth, she was sure to time her movements with any opportunities to mask any noise she made. The strategy took longer, but it ensured she avoided detection. Talia had been above the main building above where she surmised Velti would be. Talia was adorned in standard light armor that could probably take a blaster bolt or two before things got ugly. She had armed herself with vibroblades, a blaster and an assortment of knives. She also had with her equipment to help her get inside the facility. There were a few grenades clipped on her hip, primarily to cause a distraction more than anything. She wanted to keep things as quiet as possible.

Surveying the ledge, she quickly jumped up to reach the higher ledge, pulling her body weight up and over the edge. She waited there for a few more moments before reaching the roof. Talia knew it would be impossible to go right to the target without alarming others, and she would have to maneuver through the interiors of the facility. Taking out a thermal scanner, she gazed down for bodies in the level directly below her. Talia wandered around until she spotted a room that was entirely unguarded, leading out into hallways that were empty without anyone in sight. Talia put the scanner away, tying a cord and securing it around herself as she walked to the edge. Glancing down to ensure no one was below her, she slowly lowered herself to the side, facing the glass window in front of her. Talia worked swiftly and quietly, neatly cutting a square out of the window. She slowly eased herself inside, setting the pane of glass down and untethering herself. So far, she had been undetected, and the window was high enough that it would be impossible to tell the glass was missing from it. She hadn't made any noises getting in.

Pulling up her scanners again, she slowly made her way out of the room and peeked around outside to the hallway which went in both directions. Talia sighed to herself, knowing that the potential for running into trouble before she ever reached Velti was high.

it was getting late but it was too early for the guards to change out for shifts. the strict ways that the commander ran things around here left a lot to be desired in the ways of relaxation and leisure. so far a number of the guards had been reprimanded and punished in a variety of ways because of things that their superiors saw as inappropriate. this was mostly because Vexton Velti would punish the officers under his command as well as the men in their charge. so it was only natural, and the way that the sith more often than not, for the officers to save their own skin and become more strict in turn. of course the lower ranking members were not as disciplined and still got into trouble so the ranks of men that could stand the posts properly were reduced leading to longer watches.

most of them didn't give a damn who they were serving but the Sith Brotherhood had some perks that other organizations could not provide but in turn had their own way of dealing with things. so a few of the guards were too busy talking to one another so they could stay awake but didn't seem to notice the bounty hunter that maneuvered through their fortifications. it was only a listening post and most of them didn't know the importance of the location but that was why there were also other security measures like security cameras and security office.

---

a noise came from down a side hallway that the bounty huntress was quickly approaching though the voices seemed farther down but still approaching the hallway intersection. there were two voices, each of them male though both of them rather casual in their tone.

"I'm telling you, there is no way he would have been able to shoot in the vacuum of space."

"blasters and turbo lasers are what the fleet uses and they work fine in space."

"those are blasters and...bigger blasters. he was using a projectile weapon in space, a firearm. the science says he shouldn't be able to do that."

"what ever man. suspend reality. that's what the holo-vids are all about. its supposed to be entertaining."

"I guess you're right. I'm just saying..."

towards the end of their discussion they were right at the intersection though they were looking towards one another as they spoke in their debate of relative continuity.
