The Grand Hunt was about to begin. Organized the information broken known as the Corellian along with the Bounty Hunters Guild, the hunt was advertised to an array of candidates, mostly bounty hunters, some vagrants. The hunt this year had attracted deviants from its normal participants, enticed through the cash price funded by Senator Aren Krass and Gorme the Hutt. Hundreds of targets had been considered, but ultimately the Corellian and Guildmaster Zae Tannarah had narrowed down to only a few dozen marks.
The information broker Corellian revealed intelligence that the Sith Brotherhood had established a listening post on Edusa. The outpost was small, though nicely situated near the Border Alliance. According to information gathered, the outpost was only running due to the leadership of Commander Vexton Velti, the namesake of Velti Base. It was suspected that Vexton's death would lead to the base being taken over by others, and sent back to Sith space. However, the defenses were untested, and a full-on assault was unwise. As such, the Corellian and Guildmaster both agreed that the best course of action was for the hunter to sneak into the base, eliminate Vexton Velti, and escape without tripping any alarms or engaging the security forces, which were minimal, but deadly. Zae Tannarah ultimately decided to send one of her elite hunters to go after Vexton on Edusa.
