Largo Softworks Releases Emryc Thorne-Themed Social Media App Called ThorneWatch
By Pootalina Thorne, Emryc Thorne Fan Club - Just Now
Earlier this morning, the up-and-coming software company Largo Softworks released an app to the public called ThorneWatch. The app made its debut this morning and will be available on the PearPhone and other similar operating systems.
ThorneWatch, which accrued over half a billion downloads an hour after its release earlier this morning, allows users to “upload photographs, short video clips, and fan art” to a singular “thread” that every user is able to access and contribute to.
The app has another function, one which has caused concern among certain groups, which allows users to report sightings of Emryc Thorne. When this feature is used, all users will receive an emergency push notification on their device(s) alerting them of the location of Emryc Thorne’s sighting.
The Thorne Watch secured an interview with Largo Softworks’ CEO, Meiham Rayns, shortly after the app was launched. The interview can currently be viewed on our front page or on our interview videos page. We have included a short transcribed excerpt from the video below:
Q: What inspired you to greenlight such an app? Are there any Emryc Thorne-lovers working for Largo Softworks that perhaps influenced this?
A: Oh, absolutely there are! I can’t lie; I myself am a huge fan of the man. I am certainly not the only one who has fallen head-over-heels for that man.
Q: What inspired you and your company to develop the app?
A: It was definitely my involvement in the Emryc Thorne Fan Club. I began to see a lot of discussion on online forums about there not being any good way to track him. There was also chatter about wanting a social media app for the Fan Club, so I figured, why not do it myself?
Q: How has user interaction been on the app since its release this morning?
A: Well, since its release . . . the app has been downloaded 1,293,392,439 times. I’ve received two push notifications already--Emryc was spotted twice looking out of his hotel window on Onderon--and the thread has already amassed over 1,000 photos of the man. So it’s doing very well!
Q: Are there any new features already in the works?
A: We’re already implementing a search function with filters and the whole sha-bam.
We here at The Thorne Watch have partnered with Largo Softworks to integrate the ThorneWatch app into our site so that our readers can see in real-time the last so many locations Emryc Thorne has been spotted.
