Running. Feet hitting the rough packed ice at a rapid rate. Wait, more than one set of feet. Five. Ten. More. Ulther's warriors stood in the trenches, waiting. The running getting closer. Closer.

"NOW!" shouted Ulther. His Imperial Guard soldiers stood, firing into the area in front of the trench. After several tense moments of firing, Ulther stopped. The soldiers followed his lead. They looked forward into emptiness. Where had the enemy gone? Looks of confusion were on many of the faces of the men. His laspistol was warm in the cool weather. Soldiers on either side of him stood, just barely peering over the edge of the trench. Suddenly, tiny discs shredded their bodies. They fell back into the trench as the entire platoon fired back. But a series of flashes in the corner of Ulthers' eyes forced him to look away. Five Eldar Warp Spiders stood, weapons at the ready.

It was a slaughter, with Eldar in the front firing on those who dared to fire upon them, and Warp Spiders firing their web weapons into the backs of the humans. Ulther screamed at the unfairness of it all. His men were on the ground, dying before his eyes. Then, movement. A Striking Scorpions Aspect Warrior was slowly walking towards him, weapon at the ready.

Mon-keigh, prepare to die. The thoughts barely pressing into his mind. It was insulting, being told death through arcane witchery.

"It is your day of death, Eldar." The word Eldar was dripping with malice. Ulther drew his Power sword and charged. The battle began. Ulther chopped and blocked with his Falchion-like sword. The Eldar spun with more grace, but with brutal power backing it up. Over time, Ulther knew that he would lose. But he would kill this blasted Xeno-Scum. Suddenly, he lunged forward into a stab the Eldar had sent his way. The blade went through his body, tearing organs apart. Screams of pain erupted from his lips. Ulther looked down, expecting his blade to be piercing the Eldar warrior's armor. But it was not to be. The xeno had moved sideways before the blade hit, and grabbed his wrist before Ulther could change direction of the sword.

Elrath, that was not needed. There was no point to fighting the Mon-Keigh in single combat, no honor was gained. The response came from Farseer Flatyia.

"Maybe not, but I test my skills where I can." spoke Elrath, in spite of the Farseer. She may have command over this mission, but his was the path of the warrior, and he would fight any who had a blade. He shouted out and led the charge on the next set of Mon-Keigh fortifications. This would be more fun. The previous trenches were easily overrun once the Warp Spider Exarch and his brothers were able to Warp Jump inside them. The Mon-Keigh were hardly able to defend themselves. However, the next fortified line would be more intense.

There were pillboxes every ten metres, and they were filled with weapons of death. Elrath could see the more common heavy weapons that spat strong las blasts. There were several more bulky looking weapons, with chains of large rounds hooked up to it. Elrath remembered the large Mon-Keigh that carried a similar weapon. It fired off multitudes of explosives shells at Elrath and his kin before the human was struck down. The entire line of the trench seemed to bristle with weaponry. But it did not matter. Biel-Tan would rule this battlefield and this world. The Farseer nodded at Elrath. The time was now.
