In a large dust covered starship hanger on the double sun scorched world of Tatooine, sat a pale white freshly activated commando droid. Zed. Tasked with the mission to recover a HVT from the clutches of the Free World Alliance before they could find out his true crimes and execute him. Rather then killing him slowly. Turning big rocks into little rocks, and those rocks into even smaller.

Covax was busy with another priority, leaving the task to Zed. The job needed possible deniability, so instead of using his fellow droid commandos. Zed put the word out on the dark-holo. Looking for a skilled pilot with a ship, and a couple of mercenary types who were handy with a blaster. The offer was quickly accepted within a day. Thus the droid was not here, waiting in the smoldering heat of the two suns.

Tattooine hung in the void of space just outside The Blackbird’s viewport. Crow chewed on his lip. This job was an opportunity to see the inner workings of Crymorah for himself and for that reason alone he’d taken it. Now that he was here though he wondered if he’d made a mistake. Before he left he’d sent Terra a copy of the mission details. Since joining Crimson Dawn, he’d developed a sense of loyalty he’d been lacking for a long time. It felt good to be a part of a solid team. He wasn’t interested in messing that up for a couple of extra credits.

Crow, the alias he’d been using for the past few years, set The Blackbird down outside of a sunbleached starship hanger about 30 clicks away from any active settlements. The Smuggler stepped down the ramp and into the scorching twin suns. Beegee remained on the ship. The little pilot droid was keeping The Blackbird’s systems running just in case this turned into a shit show.

The Smuggler was wearing his full gear. His helmets HUD showed all of his equipment in the green. He flexed his left hand getting comfortable in his gauntlet. The blinding glare of the twin suns was yanked away as he stepped into the shadow of the hanger. At first, he thought he might be the first one here. Then he spotted a pale white droid. He’d never seen the model before. It was far more humanlike than most, it was a little unsettling if he was being perfectly honest. He looked around for Covex. He’d assumed the man would run his own jobs, but apparently, he was wrong.

Name’s Crow, I’m the pilot,” he said to the droid.

Gunner had been getting involved with the Syndicates and it was both good and bad. More he does, more they expect, but at the same time he gets paid a very nice sum of money by the end of the jobs. Soon he'd be looking to start his own crew soon. Bringing them in to work with Alberich as they'd look to get their names known for how efficient they are.

For now he was here, with some guy named Crow. Guessing from what he had said, he was the pilot. Yup, that was.. that was all Gunner gathered. How helpful. Though he supposed some people didn't wanna be well known by their partners for some of these shin-digs, which wasn't a bad thing it just hadn't seemed all that fascinating. Fame does a lot for your reputation, just look at Darth Raze, or Emryc Thorne, or Darth Andruil. The name in combat just strikes fear into the opponent. One day, one day it'd be the case.

Gunner would cross his arms and look to put on the tough guy act too,
"Name's Gunner. I'm the charisma, eye candy, chick magnet, muscle, and the one who can shoot a womp rat of the head of a Jawa from a couple hundred meters out." Gunner would count tallies on his fingers as he named a new title. He liked to make some jokes here and there and enjoy the moment, so if Crow was looking for a strong silent type, he would be sorely disappointed.

Khalid rhad recently noticed that putting his skills to use was finally paying off as more and more employers required his expert aim and ass kicking capabilities. First he started with Norb'aal the Hutt, then Terra personally had him escort her for another job and now he was being hired by Covax himself for what was probably his riskiest, yet highest paying job yet...Life was good.

Wearing his usual armor, his pistol on his hip and his gloves on his hands, the Tiefling let the other two introduce themselves first before following suit shortly after "Name's Khalid Din. I'm the charisma, eye candy, chick magnet, muscle, an' the one who can shoot a womp rat off the head of a Jawa from a couple hundred meters out and then some, nice to meetcha" He said, counting tallies on his fingers as well which, of course, had an extra finger raised up in comparison to Gunner, a devilish grin on him as he looked at the Nautolan...Nothing better than a friendly competition to liven things up, after all.

Zed stepped closer to the first mercenary as he stepped into the hanger giving him a look up and down in curiosity. Looking over his gear and accounting for the weapons, at least the ones he could see. He did not announce himself at first, rather continued to scan the man. Crow would likely find it a bit unnerving.

The other two quickly followed. First the Nautolan, soon followed by the Tiefling. The pale skinned droid gave the two the same slight unnerving scan. Like an animal deciding if it should pounce or run away. He also took note that the horded one seemed to be mocking the other.

Finally, Zed would stand at the center of the group and address them. "Crow, pilot smuggler, known to run with the Crimson Dawn. You skills are well documented. My Master sends his regards to your Master," Zed said flatly before moving on. "Gunner, would be pirate and gun for hire. No known associates." He continued, "Khalid Din, Bandomeer noble and armature bounty hunter. Din family runt of the litter."

"I am P1 model number D3S, however you may call me, Zed."
He said continued in flat monotone. "Master Covax sents his regards and appreciation for answering the job offer. Five thousand credits have been deposited to these untraceable prepaid cards for your trouble should you decided not to continue from this point." He said, handing them each a metallic black card. Then waited for any comment.

Once the crew was ready. Zed pulled a smartpad from the utility belt built into the waist of his droid from. Tapping an Icon, the device suddenly showed a small projection of a snow coated hoverrail. "This is our target. Currently operated by a subsidiary of Czerka Corp. It's purpose is to transport goods and material deep into the remote parts of Orto Plutonia. In this case a black site prison. We are to secure the train before it reaches the prison. Inside are several low level criminals of importance to the Crymorah, as well as half a million in credits worth of medical supplies. Namely Bacta and medical grade spice. Your payment, highly valuable on the open market."

Crow decided he didn’t like this droid. It was creepy. He’d rather be looking at dully lit photoreceptors than the lifeless fake eyes that scanned him now. He watched as it did the same thing to the other two mercs. Both of which thought they were special. Time would tell. Crow had been around long enough to know that bravado can only get you so far. At some point, you’ve got to be able to put your money where your mouth is.

The droid addressed each of them, Crow responded, “Right back atcha.

The Smuggler reached out and took the card. Zed explained it was a gesture of kindness, “Thanks.

He was in this for the long haul. So he didn’t raise any objections and just waited for Zed to get on with the job.

Finally, the droid began laying out the real mission. Crow crossed his arms over his chest as he examined the train. The droid was playing it simple, no mention of opposition, and their reward was another job?

What kind of opposition are we expecting?
