The Training of Jacob Ryker

Jacob looked at his master and tried to follow suit. He cleared his mind and started to feel relaxed. He remained silent.

Maotr waited until his student had meditated for awhile. Then he said, "You may stop if you feel replenished enough."

 

[jpchewy01]

"I feel great and ready to go", said a replenished Ryker, "What will we do now?"

 

[sankai]

((Again, sorry for the long delay))

Maotr replied, "Do you know any forms of lightsaber combat?"

 

[jpchewy01]

"Only from watching the training holocrons", replied Jacob, "I have never wielded one."

 

[sankai]

"Very well. Which of these best describes you: Determination, Contention, Resiliance or Aggression?"

 

[jpchewy01]

After careful consideration, Jacob answered, "Determination."

 

[sankai]

"Very well, then, I will teach you Shii-Cho. Shii-Cho is a simple form, but when utilized with skill, it can be a powerful form."

Maotr snapped his fingers and a drone floated into the room. It wielded a lightsaber. Maotr pulled a saber from his belt and threw it to his apprentice.

"Use this. The ultimate goal of Shii-Cho is to disarm your opponent. Fight the drone, and disarm it."

The droid began its attack.

After a few blocks, and attempted attacks, Jacob was obviously loosing. He didnt give up though. He continued to block. He caught the drone after a swing and severed the hand. He picked up the still ignited lightsaber and turned it off.

"Well done! A good start. Now you will fight me."

Maotr drew his green bladed lightsaber, and held at the ready.

Unsure what to do, Jacob drew his lightsaber. He didnt want to hurt his master, but on the other hand, his master was a master after all. Certainly no harm would come to such a talented jedi. He started to block the attacks and came up with an idea. He reached out with the force and concentrated on the lightsaber. He tried to grasp while still blocking.

Feeling the pull on his saber, Maotr gripped it tighter, then said, "by the way, a tap on the shoulder ends a duel." With that, Maotr pressed his attack.

Jacob now understood and aimed for the shoulder. He continued to block, but when openings came, he went for it.

 

[sankai]

Maotr continued to attack, then he thought of something. "Jacob, close your eyes and try to fight without your eyes. Only Force Sense."

Jacob closed his eyes and tried to feel for the force. He found his master's presence and attacked.

Maotr was surprised by the new strength and skill of his apprentice's attack. After a few blocks, Maotr felt a small burn on his shoulder and fell back. His lightsaber went spinning. He force pulled it back to his hand. "Well done, Jacob."

As soon as his saber made contact, Jacob pulled back. The job was done.

"It was difficult at first, but when I used the force, it seemed easier."

 

[sankai]

"The Force can lessen many difficulties. And now, I believe you are ready for one of the most important Jedi challenges: constructing a lightsaber. Come."

Maotr led his apprentice to a small ship. It would take a small flight to reach the crystal caves.

Jacob was excited but also worried. The master had said difficult. He had always wanted to construct a lightsaber, but never thought that it would be difficult.

Maotr landed the ship. Ahead of them was a cave.

"Go in. You must search for your crystal. Choose one you feel is the right one. Good Luck!"

Maotr watched his apprentice enter the caves. He smiled.
