The Training of Morganis Tartarus

Shingen was stood looking out of the training halls large windows. The view was not as grand as the one out of the room he had been trained and the room overall was slightly smaller but would do its duty nicely.

He began pacing the room twirling his saber round his index finger wondering if this is how Nuka had felt before they first met.

 

[Morganis]

Morganis ran down the hallway leading to the training room he was to be taught in. He bolted past other jedi padawans and teachers alike finally slowing to a stop in front of the small training room. He calmed himself and slowed his breathing then calmly entered the room. He bowed to Shingen " I apologize for my tardiness I promise it shall not happen again. I am Morganis Tartarus." Morganis cautiously approached his new teacher.

 

[Void]

"Hello I am Shingen Ujio. Nice to meet you and don't worry about being late, here take a seat." He walked into the middle of the room and sat down, his saber disappearing into his sleeve. "Now first I want to check, is you name actually Morganis?"

 

[Morganis]

Morganis sat down accross from his teacher. So far the man was very nice to him which pleased Morganis greately." Yes that is the name I was given at birth and to this day it has been the same." Before it dissapeared into his sleeve Morganis took what he saw of the lightsaber and formulated in his mind the type of fighting his teacher used in case a surprise spar was to occur.

 

[Void]

Shingen smiled. "Ok, just checking. Now what would you like to achieve from our training together?"

 

[Morganis]

Morganis thought of his answer for a moment then replied. " From this training I would like to learn how to use a lightsaber, make a lightsaber for myself, learn how to use the force better and stronger, and to gain knowladge that will help me maintain peace in the galaxy and balance in the force." Satisfied with his answer Morganis smiled.

 

[Void]

"Very good but could you go into a little more detail." As he watched Morganis pondering the question several sabers raised themselves off the rack behind him and slowly made their way round the room until they were hovering 3 meters behind Morganis.

 

[Morganis]

Moganis thought. " Well no I can't go into more detail unless you want me to name the force powers I wish to be taught if that is the case then I will tell you this whatever you teach me regardless of what it's about I will learn it to the best of my abilities." Morganis felt something was off in the room and useing his skills of perception he noticed that a few lightsabers were missing off the racks. They were training lightsabers so they were supposed to be returned when the training was finished. Morganis wondered where they were. To look behind himself would look strange to his teacher so Morganis calmed hsi mind and prepared himself to dodge an incomming attack or to attack himself whichever was the more logical option.

 

[Void]

"Very good also. What Do you know already? So that I don't start to teach you bits and pieces you already have a grasp of." The sabers continued to hover there motionless.

 

[Morganis]

Morganis looked at his feet sadly. His lack of knowledge of the force discouraged him. " I know Force Push, Force Pull, and Force Jump. I do not know any lightsaber forms or even how to use one." Morganis looked up at his teacher and bowed in his seat. " I apologize for my lack of knowladge in the ways of the Jedi. I had a late start shall we say." Morganis remembered his preparation and got back into his position.

 

[Void]

Shingen thought over what Morganis had said and came up with a test which would put to use the high ceiling of the room. "I would like you to jump 3 times, with each jump try and increase your hight as much as you can."

On his second jump Shingen would get 3 of the sabers to shoot across at the level Morganis' feet were at the peak of his first jump and again on his third jump, they would be level with his second jump.

If he is unable to increase his hight the sabers will catch him and cause his balance to be off when landing.

 

[Morganis]

Morganis nodded the instruction were simple enough jump three times each time trying to go higher. Morganis stood and took a few steps away from where he was sitting and prepared himself. Calling on the force he launched himself into the air reaching a decent height. Once he landed he took a moment to prepare again and jumped again. His jump did increase in height but not by much. When Morganis completed hsi second jump lightsabers lined up with his jump heights. If he did not get high enough he would fall and most likely hurt himself. So Morganis calmed himself. He focused on his goal which was to jump very high and impress his teacher. Calling on the force and holding onto its power for longer Morganis jumped into the air jumping almost high enough to touch the ceiling of the room which was very high up. When Morganis came down he landed on his feet with a slight thud. The landing had hurt his legs and feet but Morganis tried not to show the pain on his face.

 

[Void]

All but one of the sabers shot past Shingen and landed softly back in their places on the rack. "Well done, I was not expecting you to be able to jump that high, for your last test of the day I would like you to avoid being hit by this hilt. However there are some ruled, you may not move your feet and you can only push it away with the force. try this for as long as you can." The saber then shot from next to his face and headed towards Morganis'.

 

[Morganis]

Morganis gathered the force in his hand and threw the power at the hilt pushing it away from him. He kept this up for about 30 minutes as sweat rolled down his face. He had wasted much of his stamina jumping and couldn't keep it up for much longer. Morganis let go of his force push and stepped aside allowing the hilt to paas by him without him getting hurt.

 

[Void]

"'Kay. I now know what I need to for the start of your training. What is the first thing you would like to learn?" Shingen hovered to his feet and started to walk back towards the window.

 

[Morganis]

"I'd like to start with lightsaber forms and lightsaber combat." Morganis thought for a moment. " If we do get done with that at a resonable time I would like if you could teach me a new force power of your choosing." Morganis followed his teacher but not to close behind.

 

[Void]

" That will be ok. I would like you to meet me here in two days at the same time and I will have your training ready to begin. In that time I would like you to go to the library read up on the Jedi code and be ready to recite it to me and then explain each line in detail. Our session here is finished. You may go." He turned to his padawan and smiled then back to gazing towards the horizon.

 

[Morganis]

Morganis bowed to his teacher and left the room. Next time Morganis would be prepared for any tests his teacher would assign and Morganis owuld do very well and practice hard.

 

[Void]

Shingen was in the training room the morning he was expecting Morganis back. He was setting up a training bot with an old friend of his.

 

[Garuga]

Lyzerg stood next to Sien, tapping her foot as she laughed. "Well well well, look at you." Lyzerg teased, referring to the fact that Sien had taken on a padawan. "High and mighty!" Sien had invited her to help with the training, and she had gladly accepted, having nothing else to do. She took a step towards the training bot they were trying to set up to no avail, and she haughtily gave it a sound boot.

"Why don't we just demonstrate saber combat to him in real life when he arrives instead?" Lyzerg advised Sien. "After all, a droid is a droid, it's not the real thing." She paused for a moment, and a large smirk grew on her face. "Besides, I never really had the chance to sparr with you..." Lyzerg purred, her hand at the ready by her side.
