Hello Everyone!
Korvo and I, have come up with what we believe to be a pretty stellar means of unifying several factions in the cause of taking the fight to the Imperium and it is our hope that the members of the forum will get behind this idea.
The premise of the Unification Games is actually quite simple. The Order of the Matukai would like to host a tournament of combat. Every member of the forum, whether they be Rebel, Mandalorian, Keywork, Matukai, Jedi, and yes... even Sith. Are welcome to join in on the fun. Though, I'd expect that only the Sith proficient in masking their presence in the Force would be willing to attend. Otherwise, they would surely be discovered and brought to justice in quick fashion.
The format would be team based in groups of two or three, depending upon rank and skill level as a means of attempting to balance the playing field. Stronger competitors (Masters/Lords) being placed with a disadvantage of having only a single teammate, against a group of lesser fighters. The same goes for NFUers that hope to participate. Though, this is all circumstantial until we actually have people volunteering. The teams will be made up predominately of members from various factions in order to help assist in the unifying idea of the tournament. Which could lead to some interesting teams, especially if we do have some baddies sign up. Can we say sabotage?
The basic principle behind pairing members of seperate factions with one another, is an effort to allow our characters to have IC knowledge regarding what these other Factions have to offer on the field of combat. Plus, it grants those involved the possibility of forming more personal alliances across factions. Granting the Roleplayer a broader spectrum of people to RP with in an IC manner that makes sense.
Each round will be made up of a total of four posts from each participant. An opening post from each member of both teams, followed by three action posts respectively. Once, the action posts are completed a "Judge" (Myself, korvo, and one willing applicant from each faction to ensure fairness) will get together and decide upon a winning team. Which will be posted in the thread by one of the selected judges. The winning team will then be given the right to a final post by each member. This final post can be whatever they choose, though we hope that they are good sports and choose not to kill the opposition. As what would be the point of killing your allies, but I digress. The choice will be theirs. A friendly handshake and a good match spoken to the losers, perhaps something funny, or even death. Though, chances are that you would be hurting your standing within the alliance hoping to be strengthened by this tournament. Unless of course, you end up discovering that you are in fact dueling a disguised Sith or "bad guy" that has opted to join in n on the Shenanigans.
The location for this has yet to be decided and I'm open to potential ideas.
Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?
If you are interested in joining in on the fun, then please follow the provided template.
