The United States of America

"Novus ordo seclorum - New Order of the Ages. Remember that." - Henry "Hank" McKinley

Capital: Washington, D.C.
Government: Constitution-based federal republic with a strong Democratic Tradition.
Executive Leader: President Henry "Hank" McKinley
Population: 320,362,640

Natural Resources: Coal, copper, lead, molybdenum, phosphates, uranium, bauxite, gold, iron, mercury, nickel, potash, silver, tungsten, zinc, petroleum, natural gas, and timber.

Economy: Capitalist, however recent times have forced actions on limiting businesses to be taken. Imports and Exports are being taxed at a higher rate to try and recover the lost value of the Dollar is one example.

History:
In 2010, America was in bad Shape. President John McCain had made mistakes that had cost the nation trillions, and the Oil Companies no longer wanted the Dollar. With NAFTA in full swing, the Amero was somewhat gaining value, though the Dollar still remained in Circulation throughout the United States and her Territories, such as Guam and Puerto Rico.

This "Dual Currency" System fueled debates, protests, and even a riot or two until December 23, 2010, when President McCain died in the Oval Office. Details were never clear on just how he died, but Vice President Sarah Palin was sworn into office the next day, but due to rising animosity for her in the public's eye, she called for Congress to hold a special Re-Election in 2011. They agreed, and she ran for Election, using a relatively unknown Representative from Michigan as her Running Mate. He seemed to be the best option, as he had years of experience at a City level in the Executive branch, Six years of Experience in the Michigan House of Representatives, and another four in Washington.

A wedge was driven between the nation's voters that seemed unshakable, as both the Democratic and Republican Nominees were unfavorable to many. Palin's reputation as a Caring Mother and "Average Joe" when it came to Economics were overshadowed by her time as Vice President under McCain, and she was assassinated during a speech outside of Huston, Texas. The Republic Party Immediately offered McKinley her spot as the Nominee, but respectfully declined, preferring to run on his own, as an Independent. There, party was almost no issue at all, and his policies began to shine through as an Economic Reformist.

Running on a platform of Prosperity for all, and the promise of a long-term solution to the Economy, McKinley soon surpassed his Democratic opponent in the polls and the election. His promise? To not only reform Social Security and Welfare to provide more money to those who need it most, but to Export "The Best Damn Cars we can make" as well.

Later in January, shortly before the Near Collapse of the Chinese Government, Henry McKinley was sworn into the Oval Office with his Vice President Jeremiah Swanson. His first order of business was to Switch 458 Thousand Reserve Troops to Active Duty, and increase the Number of Spec Ops members, to help bring America back to the Limelight.

Military:
The United States, though suffering from a recession, still maintains one of the better trained and equipped Military Forces in the world, even though budgets are being cut, the return of Communism has forced the US to struggle to maintain it's Military Supremacy. One of it's main objectives was the increase in Special Operations

Active Troops: 1,885,546
Reserve Force: 1,000,400
Paramilitary/Spec Ops: 95,000
Nuclear Stockpile: 4,075 Active, 5,535 Total

I'm sorry, but can we try to go for realism here? First of all, if Sarah Palin was running for President, she would never choose an "unknown Mayor from Michigan" to be her Vice-Presidential running mate. No one would do that, especially Sarah Palin when she would have spent the entire 2008 election, and likely awhile into her VP term, dodging criticism that she, a Governor, wasn't experienced enough. Not only that, after her assassination, why would the country elect a mayor? I don't think the United States would elect a municipal leader to be the leader of the entire nation.

Even taking the fact that he's only a mayor out of the occassion, I also find it difficult to believe that the country would elect him or any Republican as President. After the George W. Bush, John McCain and Sarah Palin all screwed up like you've indicated here, why would the country give the Republicans a fourth chance?

So we can have another comedian to laugh at and a scapegoat to blame our problems on.

You'd be surprised.

My State deserves someone important besides Mitt Romney. :CStern:

Because I said it did. :CHappy:

Hence the whole thing where nobody really wanted the GOP or the Dems.

Besides, It's a WIP for a reason. You act like it's set in stone or some shit like that. I worked on it all of Thirty minutes, and Fifteen of that was spent thinking up names and looking for a decent Image to use for the Seal. That History you read? Five minutes worth of work. :CStern:

It's fair to say that Kwame's not relatively unknown. :CHappy:

Using Michigan is fine, but I think having a Mayor just isn't realistic. US Senators and Governors can be very unknown too. Sarah Palin, for example, came out of nowhere. Everyone's first reaction was, "who the hell is this?"

And you forgot George Romney, fool. :CStern:

Indeed. As I said, the History was just thrown together when I got tired, and Mayor was the first thing readily available to my fingers. Probably because I've been debating about Kwame the past few days or so in School. :CHappy:

What's there to debate about him? :CAbove:

SIDE ONE: Kilpatrick is an unethical and corrupt politician.

SIDE TWO: I agree.

*Momentary silence*

SIDE ONE: Well, let's do lunch.

Updated now that I've actually had some time to work on it. Probably done for the most part, I think.
