The skies above Yavin IV rumbled as a pair of drop ships entered her atmosphere. Contained in each ship was a three man squad of stormtroopers from the 501st. Well, recruits to put a fine point on it. Recruits participating in the 501st's annual war games. This was just one small part of a larger event held for the most promising members of the academy. There were other simultaneous simulations, but this particular group was unique. Rather than have their war games take place in a mass clash on a single world, this group would participate in a series of smaller squad based objectives in a wide range of environments.
The two squad were left to prepare their gear for the final drop into their positions, two camps equidistant from a central massassi ruin in the deep jungle. Far from anything resembling civilization. The ruin itself was a small pyramidal structure ringed by crumbling pillars and loose forest. Around that? The jungle proper. The first objective? A simple Team Deathmatch.
However... The Squads didnt know this. They knew nothing more than that they were participating and being dropped... Somewhere. And as they awaited the Holocall from their overseers for the wargames, they could only speculate what sort of fresh hell theyd be dropped into.
