Adèle sat in her office going over the casino's records, finding solace in the numbers and her work. Despite their unsavory captain, business was better than ever. It seemed talk of war elsewhere in the galaxy sent shivers of excitement in the average person and fingers itching to cash in on some kind of excitement.

Closing the account page in the computer, she draped her shawl around her shoulders and rose from her chair, sliding it back underneath the desk. Her eyes then flashed to the monitors, watching the tables and figuring out who might be the highrollers.

A smile spread upon her crimson lips as she saw a well dressed man step up to the tables. It was time to work her magic. Gliding out of the room, she secured the door behind her and made her way to the table, nodding at a few familiar faces as she passed.

With what little money his 'brother' had left him with Dyce had managed to get himself off Coruscant and away from the Sith battle. He'd even managed to con the ship's crew out of a lot of money and get his clothes cleaned and pressed. He felt cleaner now than he had ever felt before. Lucky for him that the ship's destination was this casino. With a stack of credits, a freshly pressed outfit and the buzz of cleaning out a ship's crew he stepped up to the tables and took a seat. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a beutiful young woman making her way over to the table he had just sat at. He smirked slightly and tapped to table, his little way of saying 'Deal me in boss.'

Jacob sat in the Pilot's seat, seeming a bit bored. When he was just doing normal drifts while there was passangers onboard to gamble... things were a bit dull. But regardless, he loved Space, always loved to go out and fly ships out then being stuck on a planet; trying to make a living there. He figured there was nothing to worry about and got up from his seat, and headed out.

Once out of the cockpit, he decided to go to the bar, grab a drink, see what everyone else is up to. He began to stroll around the casino floor...

As she approached the table, a fellow gambler rose from the table, hastily knocking his neatly stacked chips down as he bumped the table in his rush to flatter Adèle. However, she hardly seemed to notice as her dark eyes caught the gaze of the stranger and an on cue rush of crimson flushed her cheeks.

"I hope there's room for one more," she said in a pleasant voice, eyes finally sweeping across the table to all of the gamblers gathered around it.

Dyce gives the guy next to him a very dark stare and he scuffles off his seat taking his chips with him.

Looks like there is after all.

He patted the seat and smiled at her. She certainly was a thing of beauty, and Dyce liked things of beauty. He took up the cards he had just been dealt and took one very brief glance at them, then placing them on the table he lay in his first bet.

Fifty.

He said with great confidence.

Her gaze flashed upward, catching the gaze of the pilot briefly, giving him the "I'm working" look so he would not blow her cover. You see, most patrons at the Fortuna believed Adèle to be a regular. If word got out that she handled the books and helped tip a few gamblers' hands, her influence at the tables would be forever tarnished.

As her attention returned to the table, she let her shawl fall from her shoulders and lay in the crook of her arms as she watched the gambling proceed. Her eyes followed the movements of the dealer as he dealt and then moved to each of the gamblers' expressions, seeing which ones she could read. When the dealer made a move to deal her in, she simply raised her palm against the table halting him from doing so. It was too early to buy in on this round. Besides, Adèle only went in when the stakes were extremely high.

When Lance place a bet of fifty, her right eyebrow arched in surprise at the low bet. Turning her head to look upon him, she waited to catch his eye before dropping her gaze, flirting and trying to establish a connection between the two.

Dyce kept his eyes on the table, but he noticed the woman trying to attract his attention. He'd seen this before, pretty lady smiles and pouts, maybe he'd let her in on his hand. Fat chance lady. I know your game, I play it. He thought to himself. His ruby red eyes flickered accross the table to the dealer's deck and his bet came around again.

Two cards.

He said, flicking two of his own back to the dealer. Checking his new hand, he placed another bet.

Two hundred.

Anzello was sitting in the corner of the bar slowly taking a sip of his drink. He gazed around the casino for suspious activity, even though he was not hired by the casio, he was itching for a fight. But so far nothing, all the patrons seem to all check out, all going about their business as usual. Though Anzello was not force sensitive as soon as this other man walked into the bar he could tell he was up to no good, his Kerestian instincts told him this man was up to no good. There was also the women who was trying to flirt with the man, proabably another one who craved power, he would keep his eye out on these two.

Somewhat disappointed that the man held no interests in her flirting, she straightened a little and watched the betting carefully. It seemed she'd have to slip her hand into the game afterall to exude her influence.

She bent her head, looking underneath the table as she pulled her credit chip out and tossed it across the table after the bets were placed. Watching as the dealer smoothly slipped her credit chip away, checking the balance, her eyes shifted to the other players, watching as one began to smirk. It seemed he was of the belief that women didn't know how to bet. Perhaps she'd let him fall into that belief a little.

The dealer slid the stack of chips across to her, advising her she would have to wait until the next hand, of which she politely nodded her head in understanding. Folding her hands on the table, she continued to watch as one player folded, leaving only the pompous man and Lance in on this hand.

Dyce watched as the only other guy left asked for one more card and then placed a bet for 350 credits. He glanced at the dealer's deck again, his mouth turning up slightly at the corners. This was in the bag, he knew it, he felt it as he always felt it. He asked for one more card and disgarded his spare. Without even looking at his new card he placed his bet.

Five hundred.

As this lady made her advances toward the man with the bad karma, he beat them back. After she looked hurt and continued on gambling, but the man she dissmissed from her presence early looked like an intersting target to start his investigation on these two. He finished off his drink and then got up and walked toward the man, but instead of walking right toward him he systematically blended in with different groups viewing races or card games to get closer to the man. When he was near him he walked pass the man bumping into him sayin, "I need to talk to you."

Jacob passed on through the Casino, spotting the pretty Bookkeeper as he gave her a smile and continued on, knowing she was doing what she does and not to do something stupid like last time. Oh man... was it really that long ago?

Ah well, he thought, and made it to the bar, taking a seat. He told the bartender to kindly give him the usual. He watched the bartender get a glass, and poured two diffrent liquids into the glass, dropped several cubes of ice, and then stired it with a long metal spoon, serving it to Jacob after it was ready. Taking a sip, he turned around so he had a good view of most of the people in the casino.

"Busy night..."

Seeing that the man was ignoring him, walked to the bar and took a seat next to him. He was going to give this man another chance before he gutted him. He gave a glance over to the two he was trying to get info on. He tapped on the man's shoulder and said once again, "We need to talk."

"Hm?"

Jacob said, swallowing his drink as he turned to see a man he spotted earlier. He set his glass back on the table as he tunred back to the stranger who was wanting to talk.

"Um.. Sure... Have we met?"

"Yes, veh-ee busy," Qur'tik replied to Jacob, even though the pilot had obviously been talking to himself. The Jawa appeared as if from nowhere as he deactivated his stealth field generator. The Fortuna's techie had a habit of lurking around, invisible and undetectable by any technology. Well, any technology Qur'tik knew of, anyway. He caught a lot of cheaters by going around this way, but his actual purpose for doing so was picking customer's pockets.

The Jawa sat down beside the tall Human and ordered himself a tall glass of 'traditional' Jawa juice - meaning, Jawa juice brewed with the same ingredients and methods that the Jawas themselves used on Tatooine. He had taught the casino's bartenders how to make it this way because it was the only way he could stomach it. He was the only one who ever ordered it, but they didn't dare to stop buying the Tatooine hubba gourd it was made from. Qur'tik seemed to have dirt on just about everyone, and no one wanted to lose their job.

After he had brought the glass up under his shroud and sipped, the Jawa looked up at Jacob. His luminous red-orange eyes glinted. "Did-choo come out of cockpit to find me? Is Fo'tuna not 'unning as smooth as she should? O', were you just theersty?" Qur'tik's accent was stronger then usual, as he hadn't spoken Basic in a few days. But he hoped he was at least understandable.

Qur'tik didn't get a chance for an answer. Jacob was preoccupied with a Kerestian... a Kerestian who looked very suspicious. The Jawa's hand strayed toward the blaster in his belt, as he tensed up.

"No, but I believe you have been in contact with those the two characters" Anzello said, pointing at the man who had bad aura emitting from him, and the lady who had just been flirting with him. "Tell me about them or I will gut you" Anzello said coldly waiting for the man's reply.

Jacob was about to reply back to the small Qur'tik, but this new stranger was getting a bit more intresting, demanding to something about Adèle and the man she was near... with a death threat. Jacob smiled, taking another gulp from his drink.

"Pal, you better think twice before you go and threaten someone. Look around, do you really think you could get away with something like that and escape with yoiur life?"

His blaster was holstered on his side, under his jacket. With a quick draw, he could have aimed his gun at this Kerestian's chest, and shot through his ribcage.... or so he thought. He prefered this not end in violence, but knew this guy ment trouble, for him, Adèle, and possibly Qur'tik and the Captain.

Qur'tik gripped his blaster at the words 'gut you', but didn't draw it just yet.

"Leesten to him well, Kerestian! You can't kill us both before one of us fries you."

The Jawa was confident he wouldn't be dying today. His melee suppressors would hold off at least the first attack, no matter how strong this Kerestian was. Even if he couldn't shoot, he'd at least have time to run.

Anzello saw the man reach for his blaster and the jawa tighten the grip on his, he gave a smirk. "Go ahead shoot me, I have nothing to lose." It was a lie of course but he held his grin to make it seem believable. "So are you going to tell me about the lady and that man? If you have any worries about her, there is no need to fear, I am mainly after that one." Anzello said, as he pointed to Lance Dyce. He put his hand near his darkstick at his side just encase this man tried anything rash.

After a couple of rounds of seeing and raising bets, the guy sat opposite Dyce finally folded. The guy wiped sweat from his forehead, picked up what little he had and left the table, cursing Dyce as he did. Dyce smiled and laughed, he liked it when smileballs like that cracked. The next game was dealt and Dyce waited for the first bet to be laid by the young woman sat next to him.
