Deep within the forests of Naboo, a tall, menacing man with bronzed shoulders and large chiseled muscles waited impatiently for the newest rag-tag band of warriors. One among them was Buan, a foreigner to Naboo. Ry hated these foreigners, yet the will of the Bua was undeniable.

Gripping his spear more tightly, knuckles turning white with rage, he began to wonder why such warriors were needed in their ranks. The Dryw had insisted to the Elder that their ways needed to change to do the will of the Bua on a wide scale. Even though he knew he had to obey the will of the Dryws, he obeyed that of the Elder first and foremost.

"They will be purified," the firm voice of the Elder said, startling the war marked man.

The tension in Ry eased as he bowed his head out of respect to the man chosen by the great Creator to lead them. He dared not speak to the Elder, for none could do so except the Dryw, dark eyes raising to the older man. Ry knew he was right. All outsiders were taken through the cleansing process to rid themselves of the corruption from outside. It was here they waited for Buan, one so honored to carry the name of the Bua in his very name.

(OOC) most of Buans live was spent on Naboo, he came at age 8 as a refugee, he is now 23. Though in some eyes that still makes one a foreigner

ic:
Buan calmly walked into the clearing, seeing a large man with a spear in the center. This would be his first experience with an actual member of the Children of Duile. He was not worried, knowing his heart was in the right place and that Sensei Bendetto would not send him to an evil group of warriors.

Sensei Bendetto had told him that despite some of their faults in their hierarchical system, warriors at the near bottom, the Children of Duile was a great group of people who fought to defend nature and peace.

Buan had no problem with this however, an orphan that had no home, he had never been seen as an equal by anyone, except Sensei Bendetto. Barnabas steeled himself to the obvious berating he was about to receive, knowing that he could prove his worth in combat at least, and that the end result of all this hassle would be that he could help nature and defend the weak.

As he walked up to the large man, he looked him squarely in the eyes, not flinching at the man's sneer. He only wanted to hear what the man had to say, and prove himself, he did not feel like wasting his time actually talking with him. However, Sensei Bendetto had told him that he needed to show respect before he would be shown any himself.

Buan figured that it could not hurt one way or the other, he had learned long ago that insults were just a weaker person's way of covering up their inequities.

He managed to hold out his hand to the other man, managing to say, "Hello, most honored sir."

The warrior grunted at the man and raised his head, motioning to the Elder the young man had completely ignored. Yet, Ry was intrigued by how the man had ignored the highest man of the society in order to speak to him. At least he understood the ways of their people. No one spoke to the Elder or the Dryw without being first spoken to and asked to respond.

The Elder approached the young man, seeming to be a bit feeble in his walk, yet his eyes held a strength within them that showed the outer facade was just that. He walked around the young man, looking him up and down and then stood before him, staring him in his eyes.

"You came to us many years ago, yes? A refugee to our world; a refugee from the corruption of the world. Yes, I've had my eye on you for several long years, Buan," his deep voice uttered as a fire danced within his eyes. "Are you prepared to take the first steps in? If you are not, your life will be forfeited to the Bua. Only the strong can become a warrior of the Duile."

(ooc) your going yoda on me huh?)

Buan could not help but feel the power emanating form the small man. It was almost as if this were not the true form of the man, but a shell that held a much greater being. He had ignored the man at first because he did not appreciate the laws that Children of Duile had about their classes, and that this guy was held to be actually related to the Great Grandfather or some hog wash like that. He respected the honor and power that the small man had gained however, and knew that all present would die for him. It took a special kind of man to inspire such a feeling, even if his perceptions had one or two small flaws.

Buan took the large man's hint and bowed to the old geezer, without breaking eye contact.

He didn't really care if he had insulted some code or what not, but he wasn't being attacked yet, so he came out of the bow and looked the old man in the eyes. He figured the bow would be explanation enough of his feeling to take on whatever challenge that was put before him.

He knew he was strong, but more than that, he was confident in his abilities to fend for himself. He was a little unnerved by what this guy had said about watching him for some time, but wether he had spies or was seeing him through nature, Buan didn't really care.

He stood at near attention as he always did, watching and waiting for what the old geezer would say or do next.

OOC: I hadn't pictured him like a Yoda, but more like a Gandalf. You should show more respect or he'll demand it out of you...lol.

The man's eyes watched him carefully, before turning his back and heading through the clearing toward an old cave nearby, yet overgrown. As the old man approached the cave entrance, the vines moved aside of their own accord, letting them pass.

The warrior brought up the rear, behind the newest warrior, ready to stop him should he decide to flee. The test the warrior was about to undertake had caused some to claw their eyes out in terror, wanting the process to start. Yet, his bowing before the Elder had sealed his fate. He would take the test and either live or die.

As the trio entered the cave, the darkness seemed to engulf them completely. Nothing could be seen at all in the pitch blackness. Even their ears seemed to play tricks on them, humming on their own and feeling as if they needed to pop. Yet, before he could get used to the darkness, he heard the Elder's voice telling Ry to open the boy's mouth. Large, rough hands grasped his head, one at the top and one at his jaw, forcing his head back and his mouth open.

Cool liquid, foul tasting, was poured down into his mouth, almost choking him. It seemed as if it would never end, filling his mouth and trickling into his nostrils, burning the flesh as it touched it. Then, his head was let go and he fell to the ground, coughing, sputtering, his head pounding.

A light suddenly flickered to life before him, showing an intricate carving upon the stone floor of the cave. It seemed to flicker like the light, moving beneath him. Was he hallucinating?

(err..., how am I supposed to respond to that...I feel I must change one or two thingys but here goes nothin')

As Buan walked into the cave, he thought to himself, *Gotta learn that trick with the vines sometime.* He knew that it probably was disrespectful to think that the elder had caused the vines to move for a dramatic effect, but it appeared to be so.

The big guy behind him was making him a little wary, not sure if this test would be in all ways, 'fair' if the guy had a first shot on him from behind or something.

"Nice cave." Buan remarked as they entered, though his words seemed to be swallowed up by the cave as they left his mouth. Buan had experienced places of absolute serenity like this before and was not unnerved by it.

Once he heard what the elder had said, he started to say that he could drink things on his own, he wasn't a hatchling anymore, but before the second symbol was out of his mouth the big guy was on him.

He did not fight back, instead letting the due process take it's order of events, when something was poured down his throat. It was a foul tasting brew, but it also reminded him of Chalamarian mead, a nasty substance that left one intoxicated for hours. Luckily for Buan, his body had grown a resistance to most mind altering liquids from al the time he and Master Bendetto had gone drinking together.

He kept drinking the stuff until none was left. As he had suspected, it tasted awful at first, but once the bouquet of the liquid had found it's way around his mouth, a very appealing taste came about. It was not a great drink, but Buan had drank worse stuff before.

When the man finally let go of him he realigned his head and savored the last of the drink, riding his mouth of the foul taste that had started the ordeal. It was definitely a strong brew, but not a knock out. His head hurt a little, as if he had a bad hang over, the world's axis was only slightly off, but otherwise he felt no adverse effects.

He shook his head and regained full use of his senses, but as he finished, he looked at the ground. Even with his head clear, he saw odd motions on the ground beneath him.

*DEMON MAJIC!* was the first thing he thought, but that was always his first thought after getting plowed.

(ooc) K, now what, you didn't really ask anything of me.)

The voice of the Elder seemed to begin to chant as the images upon the floor began to take some sort of order. The crest of the society first was formed as it began to drift apart like sand blown by the wind. Then, there was an image of fire.

Buan's increased senses could smell tendrils of smoke, though his eyes could not see where the fire was burning. The air within the cave seemed to grow hotter with every breath he took. Sweat began to form on his skin, attempting to cool his body off as the other warrior drew near, something held in his hands.

The Elder's voice stopped chanting, as he took a glowing rod from Ry, eyes rolled into the back of his head. "You seek to be one with the Children of Duile, but before you can become one a child, you must be reborn," he told the boy in a haunting tone.

"You were born from rent flesh and spilled blood, yet the Duile require more than this. To be born of the Duile, your flesh must taste their power. Are you ready to taste the power of Fire? Answer wisely for those not prepared, hearts filled with fear shall be consumed by her power."

Buan questioned himself if the drink had also been drugged. His head took a few seconds to focus again after a weird spell of disorientation hit him. The elders chant did not seem to help at all. Suddenly the floor showed several pictures, though Buan could not discern them all, moving so fast. He got the sense of the entire universe was shown to him however.

He smelled smoke, but knew there was no fire near, so he went down into a fighting stance, ready incase anymore shinanagains appeared. He saw that the big guy had a glowing stick and gave it to the old geezer.

When Buan looked at the old man, he saw that he was in some sort of tance, he was rocking back and forth, his eyes white. He resembled a person who had used one too many death sticks, but Buan knew that the mans condition was no where near that. Buan heard him say something about joining the children of Duile, and asked a question of Buan.

Buan looked at the glowing stick and realized that the smoke was coming from it, and that it was really hot. Suddenly Buan knew what the old man ment with "Taste The Fire."

Buan looked at the old man, the big guy, and the stick, then back to the old man. All seemed serious in this, so Buan was left with only one real option if he truthfully wanted to join The Children of Duile.

"Yes sir, I am ready, though if it you could help it, I'd really would rather that you don't hit me with that stick there, but if it is important, go ahead..." He said this even as he took of his jacket and shirt, knowing that nothing was going to stop what was coming.

Once the Warrior heard the word "yes" uttered from the young man's lips, he immediately pressed the hot brand into the man's back. The smell of burning flesh seemed to intensify in his nostrils due to his enhanced senses. Yet, with the answer, the voice of the Elder rose in intensity as the young warrior began to feel as if his flesh was consumed by fire.

Ry watched as the boy's senses were overwhelmed, reliving this part of the ceremony in his own mind. He had screamed out in pain, no words upon his burning lips were able to escape. His flesh seemed as if it were being burned off his very bones and there would be no relief. Yet, there was a presence in his mind and the voice of the warrior standing beside him keeping his mind grounded. When he felt as if he could take no more, only then would the torment cease.
