Evelyn jumped a little in surprise as he suddenly thrust the desk away from him and it skid across the wooden floor. She sat there staring in confusion as he picked up the scattered fallen objects and then moved his desk back to where it had been. Eve had no idea what had sudden come over him but by the way he reacted it was like he'd forgotten he left dinner on the spit or something back home. He'd then grab some of his maps and instruct her to follow him. She'd hop up from the bed with ease but as she walked she winced a little in pain as the split in her chest was still aching and blood was still dripping.

"For the love of gods," she'd say to herself. "Is this ever going to heal?"

They would move out of his room over to the helm's wheel and Eve was ever so tempted to go and ask the guy currently holding it steady if she could have a turn. But she was too curious about what August was doing to leave his side just yet. She pouted and turned her attention away from the wheel and over to the map where the boys were discussing their course.

"Oh yeah it's real simple," she'd explain and lean over onto the table they'd set the maps down. Taking a charcoal pencil she'd draw a line on the maps over the hidden route giving them a perfect navigation through the insane waters and tricky currents. This place, which would one day be named The Bermuda Triangle, was where Sanctuary was. "Just follow this path and everything will be right as rain."

Without warning Evelyn felt a sharp grip on her neck and a whoosh of air displacing her body until the metal bars of the brig pressed against her back. She groaned from the impact and then sighed and blinked a few times trying to reorient herself. Behind her, Sylvia would gasp and look up at them while Nuahki began to bark ferociously at the vampire. August would speak with a careful warning tone that she was very lucky for her current predicament. He offered he'd release them, all of them, if they listened to what he said and stayed out of the way of the crew.

Evelyn bit her lip in a bratty little smirk. She already knew she'd won August over. That was her charm. People couldn't stay angry at her. They fell for her. The reason being because her father was a Succubus. Humans would fall over their heels for her. Downworlders were a little less dramatic, but the effect was essentially the same. If she ever learned this fact she'd have a whole new power at her hands. It was a good thing she didn't have the slightest clue.

"Aye aye, Capt-E-Taan!" she'd say cheerfully while enunciating all three syllables of the word for no reason. Even though she was being choked out right now she was in such a playful mood. This girl was a strange one for sure.

August gave her a look and threatened her again to make sure he wouldn't regret his decision. He'd unlock the doors of the brig and Evelyn walked in to unbind Sylvia first and then Nuahki who tackled the young teen and licked her face to the point she couldn't breathe; she was laughing the whole time and for a moment she seemed like just another innocent girl. Hard to believe she was actually a demon.

As August headed up to the helm where his men began to sing, he might notice a black bird flying high in the sky over them. A raven to be exact. It was just minding its own business as if it were merely one of the seagulls who often followed ships at sea. But what was a raven doing all the way out here...?

Downstairs, Evelyn would explain their circumstances to her two companions and warned them not to make any sudden moves against them. As she did, her shadow would reach out and the part of it she'd broken off before came back and sunk into the black shade. Sylvia would then use part of her sleeve to clean up Eve's wound which still hadn't healed and did her best to bandage it up without the proper materials. They ended up cutting away Eve's shirt in the end and when she was all patched up Evelyn would stand and raise her shadow like she was bending water. Trails of the black shade coiled up her body and wrapped around her frame before solidifying and making her a new outfit.

Rather than all blacks with a little red, Evelyn changed the scheme to the other way around. She now had a black tank top that ended after her chest and a red vest that came slightly past that. Her entire midriff was left uncovered and would give her a lovely feeling as the wind blew past her and the sun shined. She changed out her short skirt to a slightly longer one and then made leggings to cover the rest of her legs down to her tall boots. After inspecting her work she'd turn to Sylvia and fix up her outfit as well.

Moving up deck the three of them would keep to themselves for a minute until Eve left their side to go head over to August. Her feet would leave the ground and she'd start floating over by him until she was laying on her side about the height of his shoulder. "Any chance I can drive this thing? Please! Please-please-please? Oh Pah-leeeze!"

August stood casually behind the helm of his ship. The men were going about their business and things were relatively calm on the deck. He saw the figure of a bird circling above them, but merely dismissed it as a gull from a nearby carcass...that was until he heard the caw of a raven. He looked up, completely taken off guard by the black bird circling his ship. Ravens didn't live in this area...what the hell was it doing all the way out here?

His attention was drawn away from the bird as he saw the trio of strangers emerge from below. Evelyn would float up and hang in the air as she begged to steer the ship. He already gave her more freedom than she deserved and now she wanted to steer a warship without knowing the first thing about handling one. He gave her an annoyed look before wrapping his hand around one of her horns and pushing her away from him. "No way in hell are you laying a paw on my helm. Do you even know the first thing about piloting a ship like this?" he asked her with a frown. To think that he had to sail all the way around the Indian ocean to get to the Triangle with this little brat pestering him the entire way. At least his loot would fetch a good prize over there...

He looked at the maps in front of him. She had practically ruined his special map when she drew on it with a pencil. At least the rest was in pen so cleaning it up would be relatively easy. He flipped out his compass again, making sure they were heading in the right direction before dropping it in his coat pocket. He looked Evelyn over, noticing both her change in attire as well as the makeshift bandage across her chest. "You know there's a perfectly fine roll of bandages in my quarters, right?" he said with a chuckle as he looked her over. Thank goodness his crew behaved better than other crews otherwise he would have had a big problem on his hands with her attire.

Evelyn groaned when he pulled her by her horn. Under...other circumstances she rather like that sort of manly dominance. But from him it was just plain rude. He'd then pry into if she even knew about ships. Evelyn would swing her feet back under her and land beside him and put her hands on her hips. "Of course I do! I grew up on ships just like these!" And to prove her point she began spouting off Nautical jargon while pointing at certain parts of the ship and explaining their names and purposed. The whole performance seemed rather impressive for someone who didn't look like they new jack squat about it. Clearly she did know her stuff.

To the comment about the bandage she'd shrug it off, "Or you can tell me how to undo the stupid magic in the first place so I could freaking heal myself. It's your fault in the first place I even had to figure it out." She'd then move back closer to him and poke him in the arm several times. "Now are you going to let me drive or not!?"

August raised an eyebrow as she started naming off different parts of his ship. He was quite pleasantly surprised that she actually knew what she was talking about. If only she knew about shutting up as much as she knew about ships, he would have actually applauded her.

She asked how to undo the magic, and in response he let out a hearty laugh. "Undo it? There's no undoing it. That's what makes it so useful. You'll just have to wait for it to wear off like every other supernatural being. Don't worry, it shouldn't leave a mark...as far as I know." August spoke casually, shrugging his shoulders. Of course she would continue to pester him to steer the ship. How many times did he have to tell her that it won't happen? Before she could poke him another time, he grabbed hold of her finger and bent it back. "For the last time: No. And what did I say about getting in the way?"

They sailed through the day, making pretty good time for the first day of their journey. August was fighting every fibre in his body to not just hurl her overboard. At least with dinner he would get a break. He grabbed his plate of stew and mug of rum, and walked back to his quarters, making room on his desk and placing it down with a relieved sigh. Finally he was free from her.

While he left her to the mercy of his crew, they weren't being treated badly at all. The crew was very polite with the trio, making room at one of the tables for them and also digging up a big, saucy bone for the wolf to chew on. As far as pirates went, they were completely different from other ships. While Evelyn might not pick up on it immediately, the crew of the August Rain was rather unique.

Not a single person on board was human...

Evelyn would let out a long and deep groan as she practically sank backwards while sighing. She hated having to take time to heal. It was sooooooooo annoying. When he grabbed her finger and bent it she moaned and bit her lip. Wait....moaned? Yep. She was rather enjoying that.

"You're so mean, Auggie. You should be nice to little girls like me..."

Her bratty tone was clearly asking for more trouble but she shadow stepped in a puff of black smoke and appeared next to her friend and they'd walk away to go explore the rest of the ship. She would turn at the last second and give him a wink before stepping down the stairs and out of sight. For the next few hours they tried to stay out of sight and just enjoy the fact they were going the right way. They hadn't told Charlotte the way they were going only that they needed out of the current port they were stuck at. So being here, heading directly to the Sanctuary was a blessing.

In the galley the men (and women?) would make plenty of conversation with Eve as they were clearly falling for her charms. She was such a free spirit and a delight to be around it was impossible for them all not to fall in love with her (inhuman or otherwise). Sylvia was hesitant to talk with others for her fear of who her own mother was and giving away more information about her secret clan than she would have preferred. At least in this new outfit Evelyn had made for her she was no longer wearing their insignia.

Nuahki on the other hand was somewhere in between. She trusted her master's orders to not be afraid of the men, and now that her powers had come back she felt more at ease. But after being betrayed by Charlotte she trusted others even less. So she accepted the bone that was given to her but ate it far away from everyone else under an empty table.

August sat in silence as he pushed the stew aside. As a vampire the food did nothing for him in terms of nourishment, although he would usually take a bite to add some taste in his mouth. This evening he didn't even have that desire. His mind was lingering on the little demon down below...or her blood more accurately. He only smelled that once in his life and that one time was right in the middle of a time he was trying desperately to forget. It couldn't be a coincidence. The demon he faced back then was a woman as well and her blood also had that same intoxicating smell. They also had a similar appearance, now that he thought about it. The sounds and smell returned and filled his ears and nose, echoing in his mind. He didn't even notice that his right hand was starting to shake as he sat in his chair, staring down at the bowl of stew in front of him. Even if this girl was related to that demon, he would be of no use at all. The last time he saw her he was shoving a sword right through her gut before she disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

Down below the crew was enjoying themselves as always. a curious looking woman was eyeing Evelyn and her friend. She stood up and walked over to their table, sliding in next to the white haired stranger and watching the both of them. "I saw you givin' the cap'n a hard time up there. You're eithe' very brave or very stupid, lass." she spoke rather loudly with an Irish accent as her eyes were locked on Evelyn. "Oh, come on Ivy, leave them be!" one of the other sailors called out to her. She turned to look at the man with a scowl. "Agh, up yours, Higgins! Min' yer own damn business!" she yelled at him and turned back to the two girls.

Her piercing gaze moved from Evelyn to the white haired stranger next to her. "An' who are you supposed to be?" she said with a sly grin.

Sylvia would carefully eye the female pirate as she came to examine the captured warriors. She'd very expertedly stolen a knife from one of the men's trays while walking past and had it concealed behind her palm in her lap. It would take a very sharp eye to have seen her do it and she doubted anyone on that ship possessed such a gift. The woman -Ivy- would press Evelyn by calling her either brave or stupid since those things often led down the same path. Sylvia had half a mind to draw the blade on the Irish woman but she refrained since Evelyn told her not to. Likewise, Nuahki was watching them from a far and snarled behind her bone.

Evelyn turned her attention to the girl and gave her the best smile she had, "Aww. Thank you. That's very sweet."

What about that was sweet? Sylvia didn't know much she'd come to expect such a weird answer from her mistress. Evelyn was not like any other person she'd ever met. And Sylvia personally knew the Hell she came from. Surviving that...and still being cheery all the time. It wasn't normal.

Ivy would then address the ninja and she replied with just her eyes at first, until looking to Eve for permission. Not that she needed it, per se, but that she wasn't sure if she should be kind to them. Evelyn didn't seem to mind and was saying it was fine to share a little. "Sylvia," was all she'd say on the matter.

Ivy looked at the white haired girl with a sly grin. "Sylvia, eh? Never met an elfie before." she said as she gave one of the girl's pointed ears a light flick before turning back to Evelyn. "Ya know, ya shouldn' worry about tha cap'n. He's just a big softie." she spoke casually, causing a lot of the crew to either cringe or stare at her in wide eyes.

Ivy's eyes started glowing a deep, starry blue as she spoke further, focusing only on Evelyn. "You on the other hand, look like a different story entirely." her voice changed drastically. It was entrancing, sweet and irresistible. Her powers kicked into high gear as she worked further into luring the little demon away. "Ya wanna go someplace else and show me?" she spoke ever so gently with a beautiful smile as her soft gaze focused on Evelyn's golden eyes, hypnotising the girl.

The sound of someone clearing their throat behind her caused Ivy's eyes to return back to normal as she slowly turned around to stare up to Captain Valerius' stern gaze. August crossed his arms over his chest as he stared down her. "Ivy, why is there no watch topside? Wasn't your shift supposed to start half an hour ago?" he spoke flatly as he stared the woman down. "Must've slipped me mind, cap'n. Thanks for the reminder." she spoke with a forced cheerful voice as she glared at him. Slowly she rose from her seat and moved to the main deck along with three other men to start the evening watch.

August's stern gaze turned to Evelyn and her friend and softened with a wide grin. "Of all the people you had to grab the attention of, it was the bloody Siren." he said with a chuckle, causing some of the men to laugh along. He nodded his head to the side, gesturing them to follow as he made his way to his quarters once again.

This girl seemed like she had a death wish. Sylvia's hand tightened on the knife and she nearly lost it when Ivy flicked her ear. She looked to Evelyn again for permission to teach this chick a lesson, but her demonic mistress wasn't even paying attention. Ivy would then focus her attention on the young teen and say she was something different.

Evelyn giggles and leaned her head on her hand, "[good=green]Oh you have no idea...[/glow]" Eve looked into the girls eyes as she was suddenly pulled into the trance and wanting to explore what this was further. Ivy's spell would ask Evelyn if she wanted to leave here and she was about to agree when something distracted the both of them.

August would be standing over them and scold the siren while Eve shook her head wondering what that feeling was that had just come over her. The captain ushered them away and would now turn his attention to the thorn in his side accusing her of getting into trouble once again. This time apparently catching the eye of the ship's Siren.

"Is there something wrong with that?" she'd ask and watch the girl leaving. "She seems fascinating. I mean, her mind powers were enough to even trance me. That's exciting! I wanna know more about her..."

Clearly Eve was aware of what had just happened or was aware prior to the fact and let it happen. Curious why she'd willingly volunteer herself to get hypnotized...

August would then turn to leave and gesture for them to follow him. Eve grabbed her plate and would follow like a little puppy. Sylvia trailed along as well only she left her food behind. She wasn't in the mood to keep eating around all these pirates. Nuahki would also come to walk at her master's heels and Eve fed her a piece of her meat from her plate.

"So what's up, Cappy? Are we getting assigned our sleeping arrangements? Bcs I'll happily go take Ivy's bed..."

August didn't say a word as he led them to his quarters. As they walked onto the main deck, Ivy was eyeing them. Clearly the captain had his eyes on her prize and she had learned her lesson from challenging him on more than one occasion...but the white haired elfie was a different matter entirely. She met the elf's eyes with her own as she gave a sly grin. Her eyes flashed a quick blue glow and returned to normal as she turned to climb up the rigging to the crow's nest.

August closed the door behind the trio then finally spoke up. "One: Don't call me that. Two: Absolutely not. She's one of the most dangerous creatures on this ship and her power is second to none." he spoke sternly, leaving the part of him being a victim of the siren out on purpose. He walked to his desk and took his seat. In front of him laid an old, musty tapestry rolled up around something. He placed both hands on the tapestry as he looked at them. "You say your mother isn't really your mother, but she is a witch...right?" he spoke more calmly. "How much does she care about you? And try not to answer like a brat, please."

His hands glided over the old tapestry as he spoke, the smell of centuries filling the air of the cabin.

"Awwww. But, Cappy! I haven't had like good meaningful sex in five years." Nuahki would growl at her and Eve sighed again. "Fine! No sleeping with the Siren. You people are no fun."

Eve moved into his room further and took her seat on his bed again. This time she curled her legs up under her rather than lying flat against the mattress. Nuahki would sit beneath her, showing enough restraint to know she wasn't allowed on the bed. Sylvia stayed behind to lean against the doorway with her knife still concealed. She eyes the pistol on his desk and contemplated relieving it from the captain's company.

August would then ask the demon how much her mother cared about her. An even though he asked her to be serious about it, she wouldn't make light of something like love.

"My mother would die for me. She loves me. She raised and me treated me like her own daughter. And to be honest I'm not one hundred percent sure she isn't my mother. It's just speculation. But that's why I want to go home and fine her so I can ask her about my parents and how I was born a demon."

August listened intently as she spoke, but his eyes lingered on the elf. He knew what she was looking at, and no way would she lay a finger on his guns. He opened a drawer and placed the gun in there to just keep the peace. Evelyn's reassurance was what he hoped to hear.

He picked up the tapestry and walked around his desk, standing in front of it. "Perfect. Now, I agreed to help you so here's what I know. I've fought countless demons in my time, but only one had the same scent as you. I'm convinced that it can't be a coincidence and that's why I want to show you this..." he spoke as he unwrapped the tapestry, exposing an ancient, yet perfectly preserved longsword. He kept the sword in its scabbard as he held it in one hand.

"This sword captures the souls of all it kills, and a part of the essence of those that manage to survive. The last time I saw that demon I was driving this right through her gut. If that witch isn't your mother, then you should be able to use the demon's essence in the sword as a tracker. I'm willing to bet that the demon I faced is directly related to you in some way, maybe she's even your real mother if she somehow survived that wound." he explained to her. He placed the sheathed sword down behind him. "Of course this is just a wild guess, but if my hunch pays off you might have a means of tracking her down."

After August his his pistol he'd explain to the girl's the properties of that magic sword. Evelyn leaned forward as much as she could to sneak a peak of it. It was an interesting idea. If they could somehow make the essence find their mother then it would be a huge win for them. Only... Evelyn didn't have the slightest clue how to go about doing that.

"Ok, first..two things," she'd explain. "Number one. A spell like that needs materials. Things I very much doubt you have stored here. So we'll have to wait until we reach home to do it. And second... we'll have to find someone who even knows what that spell would be. Because....yeah I don't actually know a lot of things Mother does. She might be willing to help, but this is kind of a weird situation...So yeah. Something to keep in mind."

August smirked at her questions before picking the enchanted weapon up again, looking the hilt and scabbard over as he thought for a moment. "Well in terms of materials you're correct. I have a bunch of stuff for the wizard on board to be able to use including Aztec gold, but a spell like that requires stuff that I don't have at the moment. But I know that we'll be able to find everything we need in Sanctuary."

He walked towards her as he still looked down at the sword. Despite being 1.5 metres long it was surprisingly light. The scabbard itself weighed almost more than the sword. "As for the spell...we should be fine with the good doctor on board if your mother won't want to do it. I mean, there's only six or so ley-lines running through the Devil's Triangle so any wizard on that island would get a pretty good boost in power." he spoke casually as he looked at the two girls and the dire wolf. "And if push comes to shove...well I sort of know the spell. We just need to find someone capable of performing it." he said with a raised eyebrow as he looked at Evelyn. "You can do magic, right?"

Evelyn affirmed what he was saying by nodding her head, "Mhmn. Mhmm.

He'd then bring the sword closer to her and both Sylvia and Nuahki would start to tense up. But Evelyn didn't seem at all phased by his approach. Part of her was curious what that sword could do to her. But she didn't want to risk the outcome of whatever "sealing" ability it had. And she was in no hurry to ever be in a prison cell ever again.

When August asked her if she could perform magic she flashed her teeth in a friendly cheerful smile and replied, "Oh of course. I use it all the time I just don't know this spell."

August noticed as the other two tensed up, slightly annoying him. He looked back to Evelyn. "That's fine. I just hope you know how to speak ancient Briton. The spell's pretty old...well the one I know is pretty old." he said and walked back to his desk, wrapping the sword up in the tapestry and placing it in a cupboard, out of sight.

He took his seat once again and leaned back into the chair. "Sam will show you to your quarters...I suggest sleeping with cotton balls in your ears tonight."

Several weeks would pass and they only had less than a week to go, and August couldn't wait to get the little demon off his ship. Although he had warmed up to her somewhat along with the rest of his crew, he found that the best way to shut her up while still keeping her on board was to just shoot her through the head and wait for her to heal up...although she still had trouble understanding the meaning of 'quiet'.

He was standing by the helm once again, enjoying the gentle spray of the sea against his face and the wind blowing through his coat. He looked around the main deck and saw the trio of girls busy doing their own thing. He took a deep breath, contemplating the decision he was making. "Evelyn, get up here!" he called out to her. When she finally reached him he gave her a long, stern look before taking a step back and releasing the helm. He watched her for a few seconds before speaking up. "Well? She ain't gonna steer herself." he said with a small smile.

"Briton?" she'd repeat to herself. Evelyn had never even heard of it. She spoke very few languages, one she wished she could forget. But Briton was not one of them.

The next few weeks flew by. Evelyn had been on journeys like these time and time again throughout her short life and felt so at home out there on the sea. Sylvia was a little less protective as the days stretched on. She eventually opened up a little and would even end up training with some of the men and their weapons. She was an exceptional duelist. In time Nuahki also warmed up to those around her; she did so even fast to those who fed her.

Evelyn herself was as annoying and persistent as ever. She did every opportunity she could to get close to August and beg him to let her steer the ship. She even went so far as to try and bribe one of the men who'd taken the helm whilst August "slept." It didn't go over well for that was the first night she went to sleep with a bullet in her brain. It p*ssed Sylvia off to no end but Eve admitted she deserved it and hadn't felt a thing.

During their journey, Evelyn would show off another of her exceptional demon-ghost skills by showing off her summoning. Not only could she make weapons and clothes, she could make creatures. Wolves in particular were her specialty. These dire wolves were as black in their fur as Nuahki but they had a bright neon green tattoo-like design in their fur that resembled a labyrinthine. Their eyes were also the same color. Evelyn at most created four at a time but bragged that she could make a dozen if there had been room on the deck.

Nearing their last week at sea their captain would call her up to where he was standing at the helm. She threw down the cards she had been holding (she had a horrible poker face so she lost more often than not) and would call back to him she'd be right there. Without moving from her seat she poofed into black smoke and reappeared standing beside the vampire.

"What's up, Cap?" she'd ask as she craned her head to the side. Well, it was better than 'Cappy.' He would back away from the wheel and thankfully it didn't glide too far without him holding it. She looked at him curiously when he mentioned that she was -in so many words- to take the wheel from him. Her eyes lit up and sparkled. He'd never let her drive and now he'd given her the greatest gift she'd wanted all this time (until another mundane dream came to take her attention).

With a loud squeal she'd shriek and grab hold of him in a tight hug. "Thank you thank you THANK YOU!" she screamed.

Finally letting him go she'd take the wheel and look out over the boat and the sea and feel like the world was at her fingertips. She would summon a pirate hat and cape to go over her clothes from her shadow and then laugh maniacally. "Bwah-ha-ha-ha-haaa! I am captain now! Bow to me! Bow to meeee!!!" It was all a joke of course and she was only talking to herself (not screaming at the top of her lungs for all to hear). Only those directly around her would have even heard her voice as she playfully pretended she was some notorious pirate lord.

August froze up as she pulled him into a hug. He held his arms up as he looked around, watching as some of the men fought as hard as they could to stifle their laughter. He awkwardly gave her a few light pats on the head. "Yeah, sure...just...don't sink her." he said with a chuckle as she released him and conjured up a cringy outfit for herself. The only thing that made it worse to him was the fact that some of the pirate captains actually dressed up like that.

He face palmed himself as she was lost in her imagination, but he couldn't help but smile. After a minute of watching her he dug around in his pocket and pulled out his compass. He handed it over to her and the compass spun around wildly for a few seconds before the arrow settled on a direction. The more the ship drifted off course, the more the arrow ticked into the opposite direction. "While it doesn't point north, It's still invaluable. Wherever you want to go, the compass will guide you straight and true. You want to go to Sanctuary, just follow the arrow." he spoke as he stood next to her with his hands behind his back, closing his eyes and enjoying the wind and spray against him as they cut through the blue sea at full sail.

The crew started singing another shanty as they worked and August tapped his foot along softly to the tune.

"No way!" she baffled when he handed her the handheld navigation tool. "Magic compass. That's so freakin' cool!" She laughed and turned around, letting the needle keep moving back to the direction of the Sanctuary. She giggled the whole time until the ship started to drift and she grabbed it to steady it. "Nothing happened! Look away. I didn't do it."

Evelyn would find herself singing along to the tune and laughing the whole time. The crew sang many songs and she knew a good deal of them. Though these black hearts hailed from a different country and their music was an entirely different thing than she was used to. But after sailing with them for over a month she'd learned enough to keep the pace and now with her hand at the helm she really felt like one of the crew.

She'd sail for as long as August allowed her to before getting tired and heading off to eat dinner. She surrendered the wheel with no argument. In the end she'd only wanted it because he wouldn't let her have it. She was like a child, only wanting what the other kid had.

August raised an eyebrow as he felt the ship drift off course, but he left her to correct it. He let her sail for the rest of the day, explaining how the ship handles and helping her get used to the massive warship and its advanced structure. By sundown he took over from her once again, allowing her to grab a bite to eat and catch her breath with the rest of the crew in the galley. It was story night tonight and the sailors would be telling stories for hours on end. Whether they were true or not was always up for debate but either way it was fun listening in on it from the quarterdeck.

He decided to take the evening watch along with Ivy and her team as he stood tall behind the helm. He looked up to the crow's nest as Ivy gave a wink and a salute, to which he simply replied with a smile and a small salute of his own. As much a pain as the siren was, she was tough as nails and one of the best sailors on the ship, plus her singing voice was second to none even without her abilities. August stayed by the helm throughout the night. He could feel that they had long since passed the Cape of Good Hope and passed into the Atlantic. The nights were colder and the winds were brisker. If he were still alive he would have been shivering by now along with the rest of his crew. He noticed them shaking violently and sent them off to grab a few jackets as they worked through the night.

"LAND HO!" Higgins called out from the crow's nest. August came running out from his quarters, holstering the 3 pistols on the belt across his chest and the 4th through the sash around his waist as he walked over to the bow of the ship.

The days had flew past and in that time he had spent more time with the trio, learning their names and getting a few snippets out of where they came from. Though Evelyn was still a pain, he had given her some leigh way in some cases. Despite looking 15, she was clearly much older than that although she didn't always act her age.

"There we go, Evelyn. Home, sweet home." August spoke over his shoulder as he made his way towards the helm. The Devil's Triangle was extremely treacherous, and aside from maybe Evelyn, he was the only one with the knowledge of how to steer through it without hitting a reef, wreck or one of the countless other dangers its waters held. "Welcome to Sanctuary." he spoke softly to himself. He was not enthusiastic at all over setting foot on that island.
