With the sound of the alarms, the demon fellowship would come up to see what the cause was. Sylvia was ready to fight with weapons prepared for her in advance by Evelyn, who would move high up on the mast to focus on attacking from above. Her battle station for terms of simplicity, were a very nice bow and arrow borrowed from August's hold. While she couldn't do much until they were in range, it was a good advantage to have in battle when everyone else was focused on the pirates on deck.

Meanwhile, Evelyn would simply skip on over to August with her hands behind her back in that innocent child-like way she always behaved. "What's going on cap-cappy? You're not planning on taking them down are you? I don't think the wolves would take too kindly to that."

At her side, a very anxious Nuahki was wagging her tail and whimpered slightly until Evelyn moved her hand down to rub the fur on her head. She calmed down a little but was still nervous about getting into battle for she hated seeing her master fight when she didn't need to. Loyal to a fault, that wolf would fight for her until she gave her last breath.

And even though The August Rain was ready for battle, the wolf ship in the distance did not attack. They did however approach, quickly for that matter. While they didn't appear to be in any sort of ramming course, they would start to make themselves closer and closer to the pirates. Their guns were just as ready to fire and all the wolves on board were armed with pistols, rifles/muskets, and blades of all shapes and sizes. If August gave the order, hell would follow. Not only were these men taller than every single person on August's ship, they'd all taken that half form which allowed them to look and attack life a wolf while also being conscious enough to hold weapons. They would not go down easy.

So long as August didn't attack though, the ship would get closer and closer nearly to shouting range if it was allowed. It was like they were acting more like an escort than an enemy. But before they even reached that range two more ships would approach from the other side and also come up alongside the pirate vessel. Nuahki's fur was standing straight up while they waited for the inevitable sound of cannon fire to cross them. But it never came. When the ships got close enough, Sylvia knocked an arrow and was ready to take one of the captain's down, yet...they were at a stalemate. The only one who didn't seem bothered was Evelyn who was taking in every detail of the wolves like she'd never seen one before in her life.

Eventually, land would start to appear ahead of them, guided by the three fleet wolf welcome party. They didn't really seem able to turn back now, which could be a problem. But this is where they wanted to go, and the wolves who still had said nothing to August or his crew, were currently leading them towards. Once close enough, they'd break away and make a sort of barrier before turning back out to sea. They had to make sure the pirates actually docked first. A nasty surprise would be waiting for them at the port though.

A whole host of wolves armed once more to the teeth were waiting. They assisted tying the ship in, but as the ramps were made to board, the wolves would start to head up them with their sabers and guns pointed at the crew. Two of them in particular however seemed more intelligent than the rest of the pack who looked more brawn than brains. Both of them had black fur but one had blue tribal tattoos lining the hair while the other had red ones in the same fashion.

"Surrender your weapons," the leader with the red tattoos would call out. "You are now property of the Wolf Queen."

The ship was getting closer and closer. August gave the order and the guns rolled out but they did not fire. Simply a precaution. The lookout spotted another ship and the other side's guns were also rolled out, showing off shamelessly just how dangerous this ship was. August sailed in formation with the other ships, eyeing them the entire time. When a third ship came from the back 4 guns came out to stare down the ship's bow as well. They had numbers but he had firepower, and using it to sink 3 ships full of mongrels definitely didn't seem like a bad idea.

Eventually they reached the port and August sailed it neatly into place. The guns were stowed and sealed and the ship was tied down quickly and neatly. But August didn't expect the mutts to be so arrogant as to just run up and claim to take his ship. The entire crew tensed up and drew their weapons, their captain didn't say a word in protest. A deathly silence fell upon the ship as the two forces stared each other down. A soft chuckle was heard from the quarterdeck, after a few seconds it grew into an arrogant, hearty laugh. August bent over as he laughed, unable to take the wolves' command seriously. "Property?!" he shouted through his laugh.

He walked over to the stairs and started walking down it at a snail's pace. "A worthless mongrel mutt defiles my ship by stepping on its deck, threatens my crew...then says that I am its queen's property!" the laughter died as he shouted at them. In the blink of an eye he was standing in front of them, his sword up against one's throat and his special silver pistol pointed at the other's chest. "If you think I am just going to roll over to the likes of you, you've got another thing coming." his arrogantly happy tone was bleeding with disgust and anger.

"Now how about your precious queen comes out here herself and say that to my face." he continued, standing steady with his weapons threatening the two wolves. It was clear that Evelyn would most probably need to lead this negotiation.

The silence was awful. The tension, unbearable. Evelyn looked from the wolves to the twin captains, and then over to August. What was going to happen. Could they just surrender? To werewolves no less? Evelyn didn't exactly have any qualms with the furry community; she grew up with them for crying out loud. But August then laughed causing all eyes to fall on him. Slowly, he would start to move down the stairs of the ship down to the main deck where the wolves and pirates were having a stare down. He would insult them all causing the wolves to bear their teeth. They were ready to tear into his cold heart. He wouldn't be the first vampire they tore to shreds.

With his blurring vampire speed he was at the leaders' throats holding his sword and gun in a kill position. But the wolves moved too. With their towering build and hard muscles they moved with super speed all their own. August would think he had the upper hand, but three wolves had grabbed him from behind with their large claws -one of which at the base of his neck- and each wolf was still growling menacingly. The same could still be said for the other warriors as well.

"That's enough!" Evelyn cried out and stomped her foot.

Her shadow increased like a round pool of black water and out jumped four of her summoning wolves that broke up the difference in the two factions on the deck. The pirates had seen her do this before, so they weren't as worried. The wolves on the other hand, all took a step back and lowered their guns some. Evelyn would then start walking to where August, the twins, and the guards were and squeeze in between them all. Her tiny frame pushed herself in between August and the red twin and she'd look up at him with a grumpy face.

"Lower your guns. Now." Her face was stern and firm. She would not give up. Turning around then she held her hands up to the red wolf twin like she was ready to be restrained. "It's fine. We'll go peacefully. Take us to the Queen. Please." With that, her wolves would then vanish into smoke.

The wolf man carefully kept his eyes locked on August for a moment before turning to his guards and nodding. The would step forward as a group and begin taking the weapons from the pirates; others would come around binding all of their hands. Luckily, there were no magical properties with the rope. They could be broken with ease. Once everyone was bound and defenseless, they would be ushered off the ship and moved away from the pier. The ground was led further into the forestline along the water. A path would open up to a stone temple carved into a cliffside. From there, they were taken up a special path that didn't show much of the village, as if such a path were created for just them: prisoners.

They were led straight to a chamber that looked like it belonged to some king. Or queen in this case. The room was lined with furs and rugs of fauna, while also decorated with vases, baskets, and some ornate hunting weapons. Sitting on a large throne in the back of the room was a woman with white hair who looked like she was at the end of her prime. Her coat was white with fur and her tank top of soft fleece. Her pants were made of a tight leather with straps that held what looked like from a distance a black wooden stick. However, if August knew anything about swords, he'd know the end pulled off to hold a sword in the center without a grip guard.

The woman would adjust herself in the seat, crossing her legs in a powerful sort of vibe, "So, what's a vampire doing sniffing around my territory?"

Evelyn would look at August and shake her head to him. Instead of the captain speaking for them, she herself would take a step forward. "My name is Evelyn Tenebris. Captain Valerius was merely working as my escort. I'm looking for a woman named ShearBlade. Do you know her?"

The woman's eyebrows squinted when she heard the name Evelyn. She even seemed to lean forward some. "Tenebris you say?"

"Yes. That's right." she took another step forward. "We're looking for a pirate named ShearBlade. I was raised by a witch named Rose, and am searching for my real mother. ShearBlade is supposed to know who this woman is."

The clan leader would reach a hand up and scratch her chin with her long nails, "And what is this mother's name...?"

Looking back to August she gave him a hopeful smile and turned back to the white haired woman. "Aeryun Huene," she'd say with a nod.

The leader turned and looked to the other wolves around them, the twins included. There was an awkward moment of silence before she would nod and raise her fingers gently to the wolf guards, "Release them."

"What?" Evelyn would gasp.

The guards would walk about with their claws and cut away the bindings (from anyone who didn't pull them off themselves). As they did, the leader would stand and start to walk out a side door without saying anything. Evelyn would look around with even more confusion in her eyes while she didn't understand what was going on. She followed after the woman for a second before asking, "Wait...so do you know her or not?"

Looking back, she stopped only for a second to say, "I am the pirate known as ShearBlade. And yes...I know who your mother is. Come with me."

The wolf was quick, August had to admit, but by no means was August surprised by it. It had August in a hold, with its claws by his throat. He was about to make his move against it when he felt Evelyn worm her way in between her to try and break up the fight. The wolf let him go and he turned to face it with an arrogant smile. That smile faded quickly when Evelyn agreed to their terms. August stared daggers through her, enraged by her agreement.

One wolf came to tie him up but received a single punch to the muzzle, knocking it out cold. ”The next dog to try and tie me down gets its arm torn off.” he spoke flatly. He did at least surrender his weapons, making a poor single wolf carry all his guns and his blade. He walked with the group through their secret passage, scrounging his nose. ”Smells like wet dog.” he grumbled. Eventually they reached a very fancy temple and led up its stairs. Despite all his sarcastic comments and hostile behaviour, he had to admit that it was pretty nice looking. Same could be said for the woman inside. Were they to meet under different circumstances he would have complimented her, even flirt with her a bit. But right now all he could think of was how to best insult her and her sad excuse for a sword.

Thankfully Evelyn was quicker to talk than him and stopped him from getting a word in. He stood back and listened to them speak, his face expressionless. It seemed that they were making progress, since Evelyn just managed to free her crew simply with her name. August gave the wold cutting his crew loose a threatening look as it came to him.

The woman told Evelyn to follow and August instinctively grabbed her arm to stop her. ”…be careful with her. I don’t trust her.” he muttered. He knew that telling her to not follow would not happen, but warning her might still work.

To Evelyn's surprise, August would grab her and stop her. He said to be careful with her to which the girl would snort out a little laugh. "Are you kidding? I don't trust her either. That's why you're coming along. Now come on."

The group would follow them out of the thrown room when ShearBlade explained the crew could stay behind (food and wine would be prepared for them if they chose to accept it). But Evelyn insisted that both August and her two other companions followed after. It occurred to Evelyn just then that Eden had not been with them. He must have turned into a raven at some point because he was nowhere to be found. Heading down a series of stone staircases leading them into yet another forest path they would be met by another group of wolves who moved out of their way as ShearBlade continued into the treeline. Here, the group of wolves and the twin leaders would stop and allow their queen to go forward alone.

She didn't walk too far, maybe five minutes at the most. Her pace was slow though, as if she were waiting for something to happen. Depending on how observant August was with the weather, he'd notice most of the sky was covered by clouds so there weren't too many beams of light crossing through the forest branches. This would start changing towards the opposite as the day went on. They came to a stop finally near a large tree growing by a broken down wall where several broken down pillars were still standing. ShearBlade would come to sit on one of the large roots after adjusting her sword in her lap.

"Please. Sit. I will tell you of your mother."

Evelyn would shrug her shoulders and sit in the grass in front of the white haired woman. Sylvie would take a look around for traps or any signs of an ambush, but none were seen. Not even Eden's raven was in sight. She would stay standing, choosing to lean against one of the broken pillars. Nuahki however would come and sit beside her master with her tail wagging. She seemed to be right at ease in this place. Must have been the company of all the wolves. And since Evelyn didn't seem scared, neither would she.

"Aeryun Huene. The name of legend....

Aeryun's story begins in a time before time. Before kingdoms. Before civilization. A time when monsters, demons, and even angels walked the earth. There was constant war, and human kind was trapped in the middle of it. So much so, that they made packs with higher spirits to use their powers to defend themselves. Aeryun's family prayed to the gods for protection and were given the power of the storms themselves. She could make lightning just out of her fingertips.

It was in this time that Aeryun found herself a lover, as most young adults tend to do. His name was Adam. Unlike the Huene clan, his people made a pact with a demon. A wolf made of shadow and fire. But Aeryun loved Adam. He was kind to her. And he protected her with his life. They faced many dangers together. But as they grew, the darkness in him began to branch out. Adam wasn't content with the power of just one god running through his veins, he wanted more. He began to do experiments, testing other clan's blood against his own and found by ingesting the blood, he too could gain their power.

Adam quickly became corrupt by his greed. The more he divulged the more sick he became with it. Nothing sated his appetite. Eventually, he got his hands on something that should never have been born, a child of an angel. With healing factors in her blood, it reacted to the blood in his body in ways he couldn't have dreamed. It began to mutate him, to grow inside like a cancer. Soon, he didn't even recognize himself. Aeryun confronted him, tried to save him. He wouldn't listen. The evil inside him was too great, and he turned into the same monster on the outside as he was on the inside.

The man had become a demon. He destroyed their home town, a place the two had worked so hard to protect. Fearing no force on earth could stop him, Aeryun did the only thing she knew how. Using a priestess spell, she sealed him away inside her own womb so that he would never hurt anyone else again. But his power was too great to be contained. It began to effect her own blood, giving her powers of the demon inside her body. Her own gifts were gone, replaced by the demon energy running through her veins. Choosing to use this power for good, Aeryun became a demon hunter. She used their own powers against them.

Grieving for her lost husband, Aeryun raised her blade to any who were impure. She cared not if they lived peaceful lives or repented for their sins. Anyone not human, she killed. For centuries she became a ghost, showing up only to kill before disappearing again. Until she found herself on an island. Sanctuary. An old witch named Rose, showed the woman there was another way to live. She helped the woman break away from the demon blood in her system and turn her back to normal. She could be human again. She could love again.

Rose had made a mistake though. It was impossible to fully remove the sealed demon. All she'd done was weaken the seal. But they did not realize their error in judgement until it was already too late. Aeryun had fallen for a man named Dreagan Tenebris, your father. She became pregnant; he died protecting her and the unborn child. Coming to comfort the girl who'd lost yet another husband, Rose helped care for the woman through the pregnancy until young Evelyn was born. Only then did Aeryun learn the truth. Her baby was not human. The demon, desperate to escape, latched itself onto the baby's growing soul and fused with it. Aeryun Huene, had given birth to a demon.

"The realization of that truth was too much for her. Aeryun fled. She left behind the demon baby with Rose, for the witch was the only one who could look at it without feeling disgusted. No longer immortal, she joined up with another powerful wizard who gave her false life so long as he lived. She took on a new life, a new identity, a new name. ShearBlade he called her."

Evelyn gasped. She'd been so enthralled by the story. Her eyes were watering from the tear jerking pain her real mother felt. And then, with the sudden realization that this woman sitting in front of her was in fact her mother, she was stunned. ShearBlade, or Aeryun, would look around at the other three, and then up into the trees where the sun was finally coming out of the clouds.

"But my immortality still did not last. When Desplatential died, his power went with it. I've been rotting away here, cursed to die with nothing to call my own. Only now...you've brought the demon back to me." Aeryun would jump down from the tree and run her nails along the brim of her blade. "Now, I can correct the mistake that b*tch took from me and regain the life I once had...."

Again the young demon would gasp. What had she just said? Around her, Sylvia would grab for her blades as she realized what was about to happen. Nuahki started to growl, sensing something malevolent inside this white haired woman. But before any of them could do anything, Aeryun would reach up slowly with her right hand and snap her fingers. She chanted something in the same old language that Evelyn would occasionally speak with, and the ring on August's hand would crack. The gem itself was fine, but the band broke into tiny shattered pieces. And as he'd now be very aware of, there was almost no shade around them....

August was surprised by Evelyn telling him to follow but he didn't argue. ShearBlade offered wine and food and for the first time August gave a genuine laugh. "You know by the time we get back they'll be three sheets to the wind, right?" he said with a laugh. It was odd that Eden was nowhere to be found but hopefully the lazy bastard was actually close by. At least Sylvia and Nuahki was close. Better than going alone.

He followed along the path, and he had to admit it was rather beautiful...or would be if there weren't worthless curs standing around all over. August gave a soft click of his tongue, clearly still put off by their presence. He was rather calm, though. The fact that the sun wasn't shining was putting him more at ease given the situation. Eventually they reached a courtyard with an enormous tree in the center. August gave a whistle as he looked up at the size. Most impressive.

ShearBlade offered them to sit but he decided on standing a few feet away from them, watching the area around them for any traps or tricks. ShearBlade started telling the story of Aeryun Huene. Were he and her not rather at odds he would have felt a bit of sympathy for her. He was curious though. Who was this angel she spoke of. Last time August checked things got rather...enormous with the children of angels and humans. Thank goodness he wasn't alive that long.

Things took a drastic turn, however, when Shearblade's story came to an end. August was too busy looking around and marveling the tree to immediately figure out what she said. Only when Aeryun was done talking did August figure it out. His head snapped forward and his lips curled back, snarling at her with sharp fangs and blood red eyes. "You worthless...!" he started shouting but fell silent when he felt something pinched his ring finger. He looked down at the cracking silver ring, then around, realizing all that wonderful shade was gone. He looked back to Aeryun with wide eyes. "Don't!" he shouted desperately, though it fell on deaf ears. Before he could make a move, the ring shattered.

August let out a pained, piercing screech as his skin started searing and smoking. He spun around and morphed into his true form, wrapping him in his massive wings in a vain attempt to shelter himself but it wasn't working. Holes were burning into his wings like paper and the sun was shining brightly down on him. With no other choice he flew backwards as if being pulled back by a rope into a corner with barely enough shade to cover him entirely. "Evelyn get out of there!" he shouted in his demonic voice, cowering underneath his wings to try and stay out of the sun.
