DESCRIPTION
The Thermic Blades, also referred to as "Thermablades," "Heatblades' or "Fireblades" are a type of melee weapons that were around before vibro-weapons were popularized, and have largely fallen out of widespread use in favor of them. Despite that, these weapons are still seen from time to time, and these weapons are just as deadly if not more crude than vibro-weapons. Thermic Knives are the most common of these family of weapons, followed by Thermic Swords.

In lieu of a ultrasonic vibration generators in vibro-weapons, The Thermic Blades use a thermal actuating module. When activated, the blade of a Thermic weapon glows bright as it's then superheated, then the Thermic Blade has cutting power equal to a vibro-blade, it burns on contact and slashes with it's sharp blade can cauterize wounds. The Dallorian alloy is naturally heat resistant as well as the blade's Cortosis-weave finish. Like vibro-weapons, Thermic Blades are also capable of parrying Lightsaber strikes.

Thermic Blades are still made by a few manufacturers, with enough know-how, one could even be made at home. Some enterprising individuals have figured out how to take a standard swords and rig it up to be like a Thermic Blade. Like vibro-weapons, Thermic Blades can come in many different varieties and types such as swords, knives, daggers, axes, spears, etc Due to the weapons glow when activated, Thermic Blades can be a source of light, like a torch. One should take caution while wielding a Thermic Blade though, as one could end up setting a fire or burning a hole in a floor.

Thermic Blades do have a reputation for be being crude and cruel closer to the Core Worlds, although can they can openly and freely carried in the Outer Rim without problems. Although this mainly applies to the swords or larger variants, as Thermal Knives are still used due to their utility, and modern versions are still made.

LEGALITY
Mostly Legal, but the sword, spear, axe variants .etc looked down upon on most civilized worlds, although illegal on especially strict ones. Thermic Knives are fine and legal anywhere due to utility purposes.

INTENT
To create a potentially interesting alternative to vibro-blades, that is highly versatile in that they can take on many forms based on the writer's preference for the given character. Also a note, these weapons are the same as vibro-weapons in respect to damage, just they use heat to cut instead of vibration cells.
