Taris, Small Cantina in the skyscraper district.

Fingers moved in a familiar pattern straining slightly as they ebbed and flowed with the music. Pulling vibrations from the strings, pulling emotion out of the air and floating into the ears of the small audience. This was Jakk's favorite part. He was finishing his musical set with an instrumental. Beings often neglected the power of music without lyrics. With the lyrics out of the way, it allowed for each person to interpret what was being communicated.

As the climax and the ending of the song approached, Jakk looked up from his instrument to the small audience. Several people were totally engulfed in the music emotion plain on their faces. It was a mixed crowd. There were many guests here just to listen to the local music, while there were others here for the food. Still, near the bar, there was a stereotypical group that always seems to be close where there is alcohol.

Jakk was looking for someone with a ship. He had been playing nightly hoping to make a connection with a captain who can take him off-world. He was ready to explore. He was ready to meet people and see the state of the galaxy.

With a final flourish, his fingers thrummed one final chord into the air. He paused, and the audience clapped. With a warm smile, Jakk bowed, stepped off the stage, and looked around to see if anyone of interest was in attendance.

It was a pretty average noon for Xzaien. After having left Mandalore after doing some shady business presumably about recruitment. She nevertheless was hankering for some RnR someplace. As she sat on her meditation pad did she come to realize the /nearly/ perfect vacation spot. Taris. Home of the largest class separation known to the Galaxy, and also to investigate rumors of a particular musician who is known to be a sort of local celebrity someone who may be of use to Xzaien. Heeding the Rumors Xzaien had promptly instructed her ship commander to plot a course for Taris...

It was a relatively uneventful trip through hyperspace that lead Xzaien and her thirty man assigned followers to Taris. Soon they entered the lines onto the planet's surface whilst Xzaien watched from an interior window at the dark gray city of Taris below. In the meantime she stood and made her way out the Captain's Quarters, ensuring to speak into the intercom before leaving.

"Troopers, Report to the Offloading Bay."

With a sudden alarm the rush of armored soldiers all clad in perfectly inconspicuous black and gray suits reported nearby, and stood at the ready position as Xzaien appeared.

"Salutations my friends, It would seem that we are going to a concert today. I shall request that all of you be on your best behavior and bring concealed armor and blasters. Despite Taris being relatively safe I fear that its reputation may be put to the test today. Whilst there, I request that each of you divvy yourselves up with a partner. A-B-C-D groups will be inside with me while E-F groups will be outside. Now, do have fun and enjoy the performance."

In a flash the Troopers all unanimously put on their sunglasses and ear pieces as if they were guarding a noblewoman from Alderaan. Likely for intimidation tactics. They all turned and began to mosey about like worker bees. Each of them heading to their own locker and retrieving a blaster pistol from it and concealing it beneath their suit vests. They all waited for the Ship to hit the ground before exiting with the Crimson Robed Xzaien.

As the Troops and Xzaien got ready the Ship entered atmosphere, a brilliant crimson red ship which attracted looks from all below. Its landing was uneventful as it thumped against the pavement. The ramp door soon opened up and out came Xzaien to greet the Civilian Dock worker, she was surrounded by twenty of the similarly clad troopers who moved on.

A few minutes later the gang can be seen walking through the large streets of Taris, with Xzaien admiring the Tarisian architecture. Attracting all sorts of stares from the richy rich that surrounded them. Clearly looking down upon the Cathar Dark Jedi. It was quick however as the team turned a corner and came face to face with a small cantina. One of the most well regarded of the entire City if not the upper levels.

Xzaien was quick to walk straight up to the Bouncer who seemed to look down at the Cathar disapprovingly. Onlookers would see her move her hand at the Bouncer and down he went. Straight into the garbage that lay by his feet. Soon dragged away and replaced by two of Xzaien's suited goons. With that, Xzaien walked into the Cantina unabashedly proudly taking a seat in one of the First Class Seats located high and commanding a immense view of the arena. There she sat while the Violinist made his debut. In the meantime Xzaien's followers would be taking up strategic positions inside of the Cantina

She sat there for a good thirty minutes listening to the music. "Good" she thought but it was only starting as the man seemingly finished and moved to turn away. That he did and he made it down the stairs before the end of the applause. He turned to look into the crowd.

If he could even care to notice. There stood Xzaien, in the back and clapping in this aristocratic type clap. What would stand out to him most are her eyes. Even from this distance he could pick out the color. A Deep Blood Orange which seemed to sap the light. Now, if he turned around he could see various men suited in black trenchcoats, fedoras, suits, and bowler caps. It nevertheless struck a nerve with him as he took notice that each one of those men were watching his every move. One he turned his head back he could see that there were now Three Goons standing at the entrance to backstage. Each one of them wearing black sunglasses and a scowl with their eyes watching his every movement. At this distance he could see a lapel pin. One of a Metal Eagle located on their right breast.

What Jakk would decide to do now was entirely up to him.

It was almost a usual crowd tonight. Jakk had played here many times, and recognized many of the guests who gave him warm smiles and often would tip him a drink in gratitude for the entertainment. While clapping and smiles were normal, a standing ovation at a place such as this was not normal. Jakk immediately noticed the small figure standing and clapping. Even from here, Jakk could tell something was strange about her eyes. He made a mental note to make introductions to the figure who was making it blatantly obvious they wanted some attention.

Jakk turned around to walk backstage with his intent to put his instrument away and freshen up before mixing with the crowd. He had learned to give the guests a second to breath before trying to make introductions. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Jakk uncharacteristically stopped in his tracks however when he saw the three men by the door. They were dressed the same and were watching his every move. Pausing for just a moment, Jakk regained his composure and calmly walked towards them. With a warm smile he stopped.

"Excuse me, gentlemen, I just need to make it backstage to get my instrument put away." Jakk was tall for a human and looked very calm as he talked, even though he was thrown off. His training at the university had taught him not to betray his emotions. He took in the agents and observed everything they were wearing, making mental notes of the insignia and their postures. Jakk waited now, to see if they'd let him pass.

Xzaien then sat down after Jakk dissipated behind stage. She had a smirk on her face, knowing deep down that infact he had fallen directly into her snare. She crossed her legs as she looked down toward the stage laying her gloved hands over her lap she waited presently for her target to be gifted to her. In the meanwhile she sat and listened to the second musician to walk upon the stage she watched the man at the stage slowly opened up a chello and begin to string away at unseen backround music.

However, directly infront of Jakk lay three potentially dangerous obstacles in his way. One of them stepped forward, and began to speak to him in a cordial if not mono-toned voice.

"I assume you are Mister Ruleshe? My employer would enjoy it presently if you were to /not/ put away your things just yet. But come and have a small conversation with her if you are indeed willing Mister Ruleshe. If you so desire I can have my colleges escort you to her or to your things."

This guy made things straight to the point and surely easy to understand. What if this were a major opportunity? Or perhaps a way out of Taris and onto the Galactic Stage? The implications and potential benefits would be huge however Jakk would have to think about the negatives. This could be a trap, if he were noticed on Taris then maybe some others would enjoy seeing his head on a platter, or if he leaves Taris everyone would forget about him in a few days tops. Ultimately the choice was left up to him to decide. Decide to go? Or run like hell.

His mind spun. A wealthy patron could get him off-world and get him connections, but the way these guys seemed to be... intimidating... worried Jakk. He unconsciously tightened his grip on his precious lute ever so slightly. His eyes passed from one agent to the next, Jakk's smile never fading.

Jakk considered his options, as few as they were. He could insist on getting through and put his stuff away, but that would put his instrument, his lute, and himself in potential jeopardy. He could, otherwise, go with these men and meet with their "employer." Perhaps it was fortune's way of getting him off-world and into the galaxy - which is what he wanted. He desperately wanted to meet people, see the galaxy, and to play with the best of the best.

Besides, he'd be safer in the main area with a lot of witnesses around.

With a small bow, he took a step back, "I'd love to meet your employer. And please, call me Jakk." Taking another step away from the agents he asked, "Would you be so kind as to grab my case and pack from backstage? Carrying an instrument around uncased is well..." he chuckled holding the lute up a bit to emphasize his point, "it's frankly terrifying."

He then waited to see how they'd respond, and if they escorted him to their employer, he would follow calmly.

The trio of suited goons stood idly, with the man who had just spoke thinking for a few moments. His scowl completely unchanging and his expression icy cold. He'd gesture to the man standing nearby per Jakk's Request. With the second man turning to look at Jakk again, then dissapearing behind the curtain into the backstage with him returning a few minutes later with his Lute case he'd hand it over to Jakk while allowing him to either put it into the case or walk off. Depending on either outcome the primary suited man would step forward again.

"Follow Mr. Ruleshe, /she/ will be glad to meet you."

"Smith"

Immediately two of the three Suited Agents converged. With one man on his side and another taking up the rear behind Jakk. In the meantime he'd begin walking toward where a crimson robed Cathar lay sitting with her legs crossed and a hand on her cheek it would seem that this next musician was boring her greatly and somewhat annoyed her with his constant high pitched squeals which echoed from his guitar. Sitting there all enigmatic like. In the meantime the Agent who spoke with him first and is now at his side, began to speak.

"My Employer has heard many things about you Mr. Ruleshe. Your music is of seemingly no equal in her eyes. My name is Smith, that is all you need to know Mr Ruleshe. Now that we have pleasantries out of the way Mr. Ruleshe. I warn that you are to remain respectful, and commit to pleasant conversation. Lets ensure that your possible employment will be a swift and smooth as possible Mr. Ruleshe."

It would hit Jakk that this man was definately speaking with a odd dialect and choice of words. Oddly calm and pronounced as if he were under some sort of spell. He did seem kind enough to warn him not to cock up and screw himself over and did mention a job in the service of this particular individual. As they walked they encroached closer and closer to the Red Cloaked Cathar. Jakk would notice various individuals posted in strategically strong positions throughout the cantina all of them wearing very similar black and dark gray suits as was his "Handler." It was chilling to say the least...

They walked closer and closer until the Cathar turned to Jakk and Smiled.

"Ah Mr. Ruleshe, I have heard much about you. Please- sit."
She gestured a gloved hand at the empty seat next to her. Nearby were also about four other Suited Goons who had their eyes locked upon them likely that if Jakk made a move for a blaster it may damn very well be the last thing he does on Taris. For now, he must keep his wits about him and speak calmly.

There was an awkward moment as Jakk waited for the man to grab his case and belongings. He received it saying a warm and brief, "Thanks," then stooped to the ground and undid the latches. He nestled the lute in as gently as a mother with her child. With a faint smile, he closed the case and thunked the latches closed.

He stood again and looked to the men and fell into step with them. He was scared, but also excited. Mostly, caught off guard. He had decided to seek adventure, he didn't ever dream that adventure would seek him... especially not adventure this seemingly dangerous.

As they walked the Agent spoke... strangely. Jakk didn't betray any thoughts or emotions on his face, he just nodded politely. He had dealt with many strange people in his career thus far. He repeated Jakk's name an odd amount of times.. and his voice felt... off. Jakk made a mental note that he was dealing with people who thought they were important and had the ability to end his life swiftly.

They walked closer to the employer and Jakk identified the individual as a Cathar. With a quick glance around, Jakk noticed many other strange and similar-looking men around the room.

Jakk returned the smile as the Cathar smiled and gave a small courteous bow - it never hurt to show a bit of respect.

At the Cathar's gesture, Jakk sat next to her, setting his lute and bag down by his feet.

As he looked back to the Cathar, he was nervous. Her eyes....

"I hope only good things," He said with an easy grin. He always wondered how the upper crust thought about his music. His eyes were kind, warm, and didn't show any anxiety. "I trust you enjoyed the music... Ms...?" He raised his voice at the end of his sentence making it a question. He was wondering her name polietly.

Xzaien was pleased. She had the political workforce and clout to gain an albeit forced audience with one of the most well-known musicians. She watched with blood orange eyes as the man who she had heard so much about come walking toward her. She nodded to the suited goons as they approached, with one of them speaking toward the seated Cathar woman.

"Madam."

"I am Xzaien, I have heard much about your exploits here on Taris, and I may have a proposition for you. Provided that you are amicable to them. Now, I must I am a fan of your music that is certain. However, I may have a use for your skills someplace other than that stage or on Taris."
She waited sat there, legs crossed over each other. She turned to one of her goons, while she spoke in a somewhat motherly tone.

"My dear, if you would bring me the case."

The suited goon to her left nodded and turned to grab something. The goon would be grasping around for a few minutes but soon turned over, with him placing a black suitcase in front of Xzaien, his facial expression hidden behind his black glasses.

Xzaien took a good long look at the case before putting her thumbs on the suitcases locking tabs. She turned back to Jakk, uttering a few more words.

"Now Mr. Ruleshe, I require a certain... person. In regards to this new 'gig,' I may have for you. Your exploits here on Taris are quite extraordinary even by my high standards, so I do wish to give you a chance on the Galactic Stage. To be an associate with my... business, of course. This association will bring you wealth, power, and time. But as a cost to this. You will help me secure a place seen only in legend, and written about in storybooks. If you accept, I may have your ticket off this rock."

She gently shook the suitcase to prove her point; it jangled a small amount. She smiled at Jakk. Only then did she pull it open. What revealed itself to Jakk was a suitcase full of Credits. Even 100000 Credit Bars that glinted lightly in the late evening bar light. Interlaced with bundles and bundles of 100 credit chits. All just there waiting for an owner. Enough to purchase a decent-sized freighter and the high-end gear he'll need.

Jakk's eyes gazed down at the case full of money. Without a doubt, it was the most money he had ever seen. While internally his heart started racing, for many reasons, his professionally trained demeanor didn't show it. He looked back up to the Cathar's eyes and gave an easy smile. He looked off to the left and spoke, his voice sweet, "Can I buy you a drink, madam? My voice is still tired from my performance." He flagged down a waiter and ordered a drink, and paused to see if the Cathar would order too.

Taking a sip of his drink he looked back to Xzaien, meeting her gaze again. Who was this person?

"I am flattered that you enjoyed the music if perhaps surprised. While I have full confidence in my skill, not many people have heard of me, and the galaxy is a big stage.

I suppose I'm interested, however, if we are to be... associates I have a few conditions."

He paused again to see how she was reacting.

"First, you can pay me, if you wish, but it must be a more reasonable rate." He gestured to the case of credits. "While this is generous, it is not necessary, I have some money, and if you can give me transport, I suppose that's enough. I don't want to owe someone I barely know." He took another sip.

"Second, I'd like more information about your business. My skills in adventuring are extremely limited. I would hate to find out that I'm dead weight. What do you require of this humble musician?"
