It was awkward for him to walk towards the Chancellor's office, knowing he was there to speak with a different, unfamiliar face. Grand Admiral Brum served the Republic and it's Chancellors without hesitation, but things have now changed. The promise of peace was nothing but a farce; Brum knew better, and this would be his last effort to save the Republic. For his time was shortly coming to an end.
The aging Grand Admiral still walked with the heart of a lion in his chest. As per usual, he knocked on the office door three times before entering. "Chancellor," he said "May I have a word?" Despite his disagreeing opinions, Brum respected Xerses' character; he hoped that it may help them see eye to eye. Brum completely stepped into the office and closed the door behind him. "I'll keep it short, the war must not end with the Sith." The Grand Admiral took off his cover and held it against his chest "It does bring me satisfaction that you care for the health of our Republic as I do, but this will only delay the chaotic events that will surely come our way. The Alliance isn't capable of fighting the war alone, and they will surely be devoured by that vicious Empire. Soon after that has been done, we or the ISC will become their next victim. We have delayed our process against them for a few years now, watching them burn world after world. I'm afraid if we don't take action immediately and smother the fires they have started, we too will be lit aflame."
Brum could only hope that the Chancellor would consider his words. For he does not want to see the consequences of this peace occur while his Junior Officers are in command. Finish the war himself so that the ones that follow won't have to take part.
