When little Tippi was just a whelp, his clan inhabited a small bayou village on the edges of the planet Chads southernmost continent- a place known for its volatile weather patterns, even on the notoriously temperamental Chad. The clan made its living milk farming and cultivating the native wanderer-kelp for its medicinal properties, until the third great Death Wave struck the village several years after Tippi was born. The devastating tsunami overcame the highest of the clans tree homes- prophets and mad men shouted that the Big Green Fish had come back to swallow them all. Fortunately for Tippi and his family, The Death Wave coincided with the presence of an Ossein trading caravan. While the Republic scrambled to send aid to the planet, the Ossein response was quicker- their pilots immediately began running rescue missions, saving the lives of thousands of scattered and stranded Chadra Fan. The great tsunami prompted many hundreds of his people to flee not just the village, but the system. The fear of drowning after having their homes wiped out was so great that life among the stars seemed to be a prime alternative for many if Tippi's kin. The Ossein welcomed them with open arms.

One of the fortunate evacuees from his homeworld, Tippi grew up on one of the great Ossein Home Ships that his clan had made a new residence in. His people made a place for the Chadra Fan among the nomads, distinguishing themselves as instinctive pilots, clever mechanics, shrewd traders, and daring explorers- they fit right in. Many of Tippi's family went back to what they knew best, and converted several unused hangars on their home ship into a hydroponics labs, growing huge vats of wanderer-kelp to supply the fleets med bays. Tippi himself, however, wasn't cut out to be a kelp farmer. Tippi was enamored by the larger than life Ossein Jazaq's that haunted the big ships flight decks- the near mythical protectors of not just the Osseins, but also the poor and beleaguered people of Chad when no one else was there to help them. The whelp of hybrid cultures caused by his youth has never wanted anything more than to be like his heroes who saved him and his family from certain doom. The Jazaq. Now that he's old enough to strike out on his own with the fleet, the young one strives for nothing more than to follow in his hero's footsteps and make his mark upon the needy and defenseless strangers of the galaxy as was done for him, and to make his own legends as a daring pilot and explorer along the way.

Tippi has the cheery demeanor and slight naivety common to most of his race. He's chipper and friendly to everyone around him, and is highly social- Tippi loves meeting new people and making new friends almost as much as he loves hanging out with the friends he already has. He's almost impossible to anger, and about the only thing that will get him riled up is direct attacks on his friends and family. Even if you somehow managed to upset the little guy, all you really have to do is apologize and all will be forgiven. Chadra Fan aren't ones to hold grudges, and Tippi in particular doesn't let things get to him. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, based a lot on the Jazaq Yassa- which he tries hard to adhere to.

The Chadra-Fan Jazaq is an avid pilot and tinkerer, and his two favorite pastimes are flying really fast and building useful little trinkets or sculptures for his friends out of whatever junk he finds lying around. Tippi tends to find a lot of junk lying around, and some would call him a bit of a hoarder- especially of shiny things. Despite this hoarding quirk, he is far from possessive or materialistic, and retains the same attitude about his possessions as he does about his living spaces- "what's mine is yours". He likes to follow pursuits that give him an opportunity to engage in all of these favorite activities (meeting people, making things, and flying fast), and so feels right at home flying escort for Ossein trading caravans and diplomatic missions. He also never passes up an opportunity to go on adventures where he gets to explore the unknown, whether its helping to blaze new hyperspace routes or search for long lost treasure.

Tippi is oddly superstitious- even more so than most pilots, who tend to be obsessive regarding things like luck. Probably because his earliest memories are nearly drowning in the Death Wave, he has an intense fear of bodies of water big enough for him to drown in, and even big refreshers make him a little nervous sometimes. He adheres religiously to myths and wives tales that will help him ward off the "Big Green Fish" from coming to swallow him, and always wears or carries trinkets that are supposed to bring him luck and keep him safe from such a horrible fate.

Since he only needs to sleep for two or three hours a day, Tippi has a lot of time to practice his skills, and it helps that his best skills are also his favorite hobbies. His childhood spent disassembling and reassembling different machines, vehicles, and appliances and then putting them back together in new and exciting ways has turned him into a skilled mechanic. He can bring a Starfighter back from near total destruction (given enough time and spare parts, of course), he can jury rig a busted hyperdrive, and he can make a caf-dispenser out of three screws, an engine hose a filter unit. His quick reflexes and keen senses also make him a natural pilot, and he's learned to be a decent navigator as well. Tippi prefers Starfighters and Interceptors, since these craft let him go the fastest, but he can fly pretty much anything- as long as he can rig up a way to reach the pedals and see over the console, of course. While his diminutive size means he's not very strong, Tippi Snibit is a notoriously skilled climber with a surprisingly powerful grip.

Like a lot of Osseins Tippi knows his way around a blaster, although he would much rather avoid a conflict than get into an avoidable light fight- especially on the ground. It can also be hard for him to find weapons small enough for him to carry easily, since even some blaster pistols are almost rifle sized for the little creature. This means he's often stuck wielding shorter ranged or underpowered weapons compared to his much bigger friends.
