DESCRIPTION
The TL-1800 light freighter is a model of transport manufactured by Suwantek Systems, an Outer Rim-based corporation which mainly produces products for the independent and small fleet cargo market. Suwantek is notable for designing systems such as sublight drives and navigation computers in-house, often with mixed results; even so, the TL-1800 at least has been well received, and has managed to compete with the Corellian Engineering Corporation's ubiquitous YT series in one of its strongest markets, no mean feat.

The TL-1800 is, overall, a solid little ship, with a crew of 2, accommodations for 7 passengers, 3 months of consumables and hold space for 110 tons of cargo. The ship is notable for having a backup class 10 hyperdrive, unusual for its price-point. Its primary hyperdrive is class 2, and is Suwantek's own StarBurn 4 design, which is famously reliable, needing major maintenance only once a standard year on average. Notably, however, early TL-1800s shipped with Suwantek's infamous Portal Delta navicomputer, which had serious reliability issues and was the subject of a major recall; most TL-1800s now use far more reliable Fabritech navicomputers, or have been converted to use an astromech droid instead.

Overall, TL-1800s are good light freighters, well liked by their owners and a success for their manufacturer. They are generally uncommon outside the Outer Rim, however, as larger companies hold sway in other markets.

LEGALITY
Legal. Light freighters such as the TL-1800 are considered innocuous enough under most jurisdictions, and are not restricted in most systems.

INTENT
To bring a vessel from Legends into our site's fanon.
